Divine Heritage: Only I Can Judge The gods-Chapter 88: Rebound
Lightning danced across the goblin’s staff, creating a cage of publishing currently around the beast. There was an electric tingle in the air followed by a violent buzzing sound that shook the entire room.
The goblin looked forward, the lightning beginning to curl around its arms and then it whispered a word that sounded oddly like a demonic spell.
"Lilkisha."
Every single sound was drowned under the oppressive sound of the lightning, the staff pulsed with intense energy as the lighting was released, tearing through the space between them.
Boom!
Ark had already moved, dashing to the left before the lighting came and yet he was almost caught in the blast.
The lightning came pouring like a torrent, the rags the goblin had for clothes spiraling around it.
Ark darted forward, sliding across the floor as the lightning whistled across his head, he paused just as another wave tore through the room, destroying the wall behind him.
Still running with his eyes focused on the beast, Ark leaped into the air, flipping above a massive stream of lightning and then immediately squatted just another bolt tore at him.
The goblin let out an annoyed grunt just as Ark neared it and spun its staff around itself. Now the lighting began to curl around the staff, the staff becoming something akin to a lightning rod.
Ark was already next to the beast, swinging his five fingers at its face, while the beast heaved its staff, sending it rushing down at his head. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Boom!
The floor below them exploded and the roof above was decimated as both attacks missed.
In the last second, the goblin had twisted its small body, completely invading Ark’s invisible attack, while Ark had shifted his head just slightly to avoid being bashed with the staff.
The invisible slash tore through the ceiling while the staff connected with the floor, the lightning exploding below them and sending currents everywhere.
Ark felt every single hair on his body rise, his body pulsed as stray currents danced across his skin and then the floor below them caved, both of them falling right through the gaping hole.
They both landed in a large room on the third floor and quickly scrambled to their feet, both opponents wary of each other.
The room exploded in a blur of motion as they clashed, destroying everything in sight.
Filled by the ever present surge of energy from the sword, Ark was doing far more than he normally did, he was ducking and dodging the goblin’s devastating strike while delivering some of his own.
The king goblin was a prideful menace, throwing lightning at the slightest provocation— the wall behind them exploded open as a particularly heavy strike tore through it.
Ark darted out of the room, placing his back on the edge of the wall. Just as the goblin stepped out of the room, Ark delivered a flying kick, sending the goblin back into the room and then jumped in after it.
Grabbing onto its shirt, Ark lifted the beast high up into the and swung it down, slamming it through a table and onto the floor.
The goblin groaned in pain while Ark raised his hands high into the air, ready to use the second form. But just before he could, lighting erupted from below, engulfing his figure.
He stumbled back as hot pain filled his entire body, his limbs trembled and his eyes saw only a bright white light. Ark tried to move but it was all for naught, his entire body was paralyzed by the blow only allowing the littlest movement.
The breath hitched in his throat as the king goblin stood up, lifting its electric staff high up into the air, the beast smiled as it took a leisurely step towards him.
There were many ways the goblin could kill him in this position, it could send another wave of lighting through his body, frying his brain in the process.
Or it could go with a simple but effective head bash, split his head open with one mighty swing.
Ark preferred neither...
His mind went into overdrive, he was running through every possible way to escape this situation. He was slowly getting feeling back in his fingers but it was not fast enough, before that would happen he would be dead.
The goblin stepped closer and lifted its staff high up into the air, it seemed it was going with option two.
Lightning wrapped around the staff even more violently than ever, the lighting gracing Ark’s skin and scalding it at the point of impact.
Just from this distance Ark could already feel the heat emanating from the staff, if he was hit, there would be no saving him.
His armour would not save him, not even a miracle would save his soul, and yet as the beast was about to bring its club down, Ark smiled.
The goblin paused, a slight frown on its face as it watched Ark.
Ark parted his lips, blood dripping down his face as he spoke:
"Rebound bitch."
Somewhere above them, dust poured out of the broken ceiling as a crimson red dagger tore through the hole, spinning like a boomerang and charging right towards Ark.
The goblin’s eyes widened in shock as it saw the dagger, it tried to jump back but it was already far too late, Ark had regained some feeling in his limbs.
He grabbed the goblin’s slender body and flipped it to the back, placing it right at the dagger’s path.
The goblin’s rod pulsed with lighting, about to unload another blow— when the dagger dug deep into its back, stunning the creature.
Ark was not foolish enough to believe that would kill it and so he placed his foot down, summoning his last ounce of strength and tossed the goblin right through the window.
Crash!
The goblin’s body tore through the glass, flying through the night sky, the dagger still embedded in its back.
Ark immediately grabbed the sword and lifted it high up, golden energy began to dance across the blade as his eyes glowed fiercely.
He pushed the sword forward, the blade feeling as heavy as a mountain as a wave of golden light pushed forward.
"Dragon, Strike!"
Simultaneously, the goblin coughed up blood and pointed its staff toward the building Ark was in, it could already see the golden light about to tear through the building and engulf it and yet its expression was hardened with rage.
The staff buzzed as electricity danced around it, a current far greater than anything it had ever summoned. The goblin poured every single thing into it, for one decisive strike.
Tzzzzz!
Lighting tore through the staff, headed straight at the building while Ark’s golden strike tore past it, straight at the goblin.
