Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 91: Good Deed
Cassian Jennings had only been there a day, and he was already giving everyone at the police station a headache.
After all, he was the eldest son of the Jennings Family, a man of prestigious status. Moreover, he’d been inseparable since childhood with the young masters of the Grayson and Avery families.
How could they possibly dare to slight him?
Every last one of them wished they could send this menace on his way immediately.
But orders had come down from on high: he had to be detained for ten days before he could be released.
And so, they could only obey. He’d be kept for ten days. Except, it wasn’t a real detention—it was more like letting Master Jennings use the police station as his personal lounge for ten days.
"Just tell me the truth. Which bastard gave the order to keep me here?" ’Thinking it over and over, there was no way it could be Tristan Grayson.’
’He hadn’t done anything to provoke Tristan Grayson.’
’Besides, Tristan Grayson was busy with a funeral. He wouldn’t have the time to bother with him.’
’It couldn’t be his old man, either. If his father heard he was at the police station, he would’ve stormed over and dragged him out by now.’
’No wonder. Something had felt off ever since he’d gotten into the police car that day. So that was it—some bastard had set him up.’
"Master Jennings, we really don’t know," Officer Lane explained, his face strained. "We’re all just following orders. Please, just try to make yourself at home for a few days."
’Make myself at home for a few days?’ He was the great Master Jennings, and he was supposed to spend ten days in a police station? If word of this got out, that pack of hooligans would laugh their heads off. At the thought of his reputation being destroyed, Cassian Jennings slammed a hand on the table and shot to his feet. "I stabbed someone, and I’ll damn well pay the medical bills! But you holding me here is blatant illegal detention!"
Lane’s expression grew thunderous. Just as he was trying to come up with another excuse to fob off Master Jennings, the station’s beauty, Anya Warren, walked in. Grinning, she said, "Master Jennings, there’s a little beauty outside who wants to see you."
"Let me out, and I’ll go see her. If you won’t let me out, I’m not seeing anyone," Cassian roared. He was in a full-blown rage and couldn’t care less if she was the station’s beauty or not.
But the moment he finished roaring, Cassian Jennings froze.
’A little beauty?’
’Could it be Amelia Avery?’
At that thought, Cassian Jennings slammed the table again and shot to his feet. How could he have forgotten?
’This has to be that bastard Aiden Avery’s doing!’
’It had to be revenge for what happened with Amelia Avery last time.’
Ignoring the dumbfounded man and woman in the room, Cassian Jennings stormed out.
Lane scratched his head and asked in confusion, "Has he lost his mind?"
"I think you’re the one who’s lost his mind," Anya Warren said, rolling her eyes at Lane dismissively. "Hurry up and watch the show." With that, she hurried out after Cassian Jennings.
When Cassian Jennings stepped out of the room, he saw her standing in the main hall. Hands in his pockets, he swaggered toward Amelia Avery with an air of cool arrogance.
"Cassian, how did you end up at the police station?" Amelia Avery’s heart, which had been pounding, finally settled when she saw him walk out.
Cassian Jennings looked at her and gave a mocking laugh. "Heh... How did I get in here? Isn’t it all thanks to you!"
Amelia Avery’s expression soured. "What does this have to do with me?" she asked, baffled. She’d only heard the news when she woke up this morning and had rushed straight over without even stopping to eat. Yet this was the attitude he gave her, pinning all the blame on her.
"Isn’t it all the work of that ’good’ brother of yours!" ’Aiden Avery had really gone too far this time. Just as Amelia Avery was Aiden’s bottom line, Gia Miller was his—Cassian Jennings’—bottom line. He would never allow anyone to insult his friends.’
