Draconic King of Shadows-Chapter 101: Fighting Fire with Fire (1)
Three twisting horns burst out of Kenzo’s head, and he turned to stare at Damion, a menacing look in his eyes.
Damion’s slit eyes locked onto Kenzo’s, but the connection between them stopped Kenzo from attacking him or Matilda... so he turned to Lyra, the ’only’ person he could attack.
’Focus!’ Damion’s voice boomed in his mind, snapping him out of it.
The feeling of him being challenged resurfaced, welling up in his chest. He growled, his eyes landing on the orange dot in the sky.
The barely visible Qi circling his body finally blinked out, and the intensity of his red flames multiplied, burning brighter like a beacon.
This display of pyromancy caught the attention of the orange dot in the sky, and it suddenly began to descend like a meteorite, coming down with so much speed that the air combusted and the temperature of the surroundings skyrocketed again.
And when Damion and the rest thought the atmosphere couldn’t get any hotter, with Kenzo burning so strongly, his flames potency once again multiplied.
"Retreat," Damion said to Matilda and Lyra, taking a few steps back when he felt the heat getting too intense.
He didn’t believe the heat could harm him through his scales, unless he was very close to the flames, but he wasn’t taking any chances. This wasn’t a battle he was supposed to be a part of, and the system only confirmed that a second later.

As soon as he read the last word, Kenzo raised his head to the sky and let out a powerful roar, concentric circles of ravaging flames and energy blasting outwards and pulverizing the fauna in a 70 meter radius.
The ground shattered as the sudden waves assaulted it.
The heat turned the earth into a dry, cracked, hard surface, before it began to melt down into rivers of lava.
More heat permeated the atmosphere, and smoke began to emit from everything.
The destruction was almost as powerful as Damion’s strongest attack, showing just how much power Kenzo had at the moment.
His roar alone had done more damage than he had ever done before, and he still seemed to have more within him.
Damion stopped after covering about a hundred meters. Behind him, a battle still raged, but they were relatively safe from it. His gaze remained fixed on Kenzo, watching as he finally reached the current size limit of his Draconic form.
He stood at a towering height of six meters. Black scales covered his body, with red claws and horns completing his fearsome appearance. Not counting his eight-meter-long tail, his body alone measured seven meters and was packed with strong, tough muscles. Each breath released tongues of flame from his nostrils, plumes of smoke rising from the scorched earth beneath him.
As the effects of his earlier roar faded, he locked eyes with the approaching enemy, his energy rising. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Damion’s eyes could barely follow Kenzo’s movement as he suddenly launched off the ground, tearing through the air with blurring speed and colliding with the orange figure in the sky.
The result of the clash was obvious. Kenzo’s massive, powerful body slammed into the enemy, wreathed in scalding flames, and sent them hurtling out of the sky, their limbs flailing about like a ragdoll.
There was no pause in Kenzo’s assault. He became a flash of light, descending rapidly and landing with a thunderous crash. The ground tore beneath him, webs of heated cracks spreading from the point of impact.
The puddles of lava splashed around, landing on the two beings of fire, but it did nothing to them.
Suddenly, the being of orange flames shot out of the small crater its crash had caused, hovering above with an unfazed look in its eyes.
Truly, it was Noriko, but the look in his eyes was not of the Noriko they knew. This version of him was cold, ruthless and unbothered by anything—not even pain.
"I will purge this world of evil!" Noriko voiced out, his energy pooling into small pockets around him.
The air distorted as several constructs of fire took shape around him. The constructs, amorphous and uncontrolled, flickered wildly, some even seemingly blinking out and lighting up again in a confusing manner.
Kenzo in his full transformation was no less adept at flame manipulation, and he immediately began to conjure multiple fire swords around him.
With his understanding of the sword as the Heir to the Blade God, his weapons were more controlled than Noriko’s, but they still wavered from time to time, struggling not to collapse.
He made up for this by pulling on his Qi, layering it over his fire swords and granting them a sharper, and more balanced form.
Within two seconds, both parties had created a sky filled with hundreds of fire constructs, ready to be unleashed.
However, just as suddenly as Noriko had shot out of the crater, prior to the creation of his fire constructs, the fire constructs solidified, the flickering flames around them stilling, and their shapes becoming perfect.
With a burst of energy, both sides released their attacks with a bang, the sounds of crackling flames and burning air spreading spontaneously.
Sword and fire discs clashed in the air, their collision causing fire to rain down from the skies like broken fragments of a meteor. Their descent reshaped the terrain, the land burning and its moisture evaporating.
Damion formed a dome of shadows over himself and the girls, burning through his energy to save them from a catastrophic situation.
The shadows had to be compressed far more than Damion would have liked, but he had no choice. The rain was too destructive to be taken lightly.
Even as he made the Shadow dome thick and sturdy, he still had to reform it over and over as its layers were burnt off over time.
The air shuddered as more swords and flaming discs clashed, unleashing their terrible heat upon the world.
Kenzo roared, more red demonic flames firing from behind him in streaks, pushing against the orange flames and exploding upon impact.
Kenzo found himself losing after the third round. His flames were lacking in potency, and Noriko seemed to be winning the battle.
Kenzo’s flames weren’t weak by any means. It was just that Noriko’s had been overclocked by the Fire atributted Mana Rocks he had taken.
But who said this was just a battle of fire potency?
Kenzo blurred, appearing before Noriko in a flash, his body twisting, his forelimbs grinding to a halt, and his feets pivoting at the same time.
His thick tail curled from behind, whipping through the air and smashing into Noriko before he could properly form his fire barrier.
BANG!
Noriko shot back like a bullet from a gun, piercing through the air without a sense of direction.
Kenzo appeared by his side again, his claw coming down on him like guillotines. However, Noriko was prepared, and a flaming claw of fire matched his attack, pushing him back.
An explosion forcefully separated them, creating a large distance between them as Kenzo stopped, his eyes burning with fury and confusion.
There was something odd about Noriko.
