Draconic King of Shadows-Chapter 32: The Unseen Force’s Games
Damion, in the midst of all the chaos and mayhem, layed unmoving on the hard floor. He couldn’t bear witness to the mysterious phenomenon occurring in his unconscious state, and was therefore unable to control his body as it was flung around by the two clashing energies. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Foolish child!" A deep, vibrating voice thundered, coming from the Purple and Black energy swirling in the atmosphere flamboyantly.
"Hehehe, he fell for it so easily, becoming another puppet to be moved like a Pawn on my board," another deep, but grating voice, echoed in the room, coming from the Green energy slithering around.
"Humans are so greedy and wouldn’t hesitate to go for anything ’shiny’," the Green energy spoke mockingly, directing its ’gaze’ to the Black and Purple energy. "With the mask bound to him, he would slowly lose his Draconic and Shadow powers, then I’ll..."
"Enough! I don’t wish to hear you blabber," the Black and Purple energy interrupted.
"Hehehe, short fused like always," the green energy retorted, unmoved by the rude interjection.
A prideful snort came from the Black and Purple energy, and its voice resounded in the room once again. "I am only pissed because he put the mask on even after all that clear warning, not because I can’t stop whatever it is you’re doing."
"Or have you forgotten I transferred my powers to him?" The Black and Purple energy laughed out loud, its voice making the building shake on its foundation.
"You’re basically fighting a lion with a mouse. Do you think a mere artifact with your weak Celestial imprint on it would stop my full power?"
More sounds of laughter came from the Black and Purple energy as it flowed around the room gracefully. The Green energy went silent after that, choosing to focus on Damion’s body instead.
"Just you wait... Ophidia, your death is imminent!" The Black and Purple energy roared one last time before it was suddenly sucked into Damion’s body, and Damion’s eyes snapped open.
A blinding purple light came from his pupils, glowing so brightly it looked to consume everything in its way.
"NOOO!!!" The Green energy screamed as the light reached it, and it was pulled towards Damion’s body against its will.
It fought back fiercely, attempting to flee the devouring, but it was all for naught. Its attempts were like a child escaping a raging cyclone, futile and useless.
The rampant Green energy ravaged the surrounding one last time, before suddenly turning into a mist that slowly drifted into Damion’s body.
Silence reigned in the area, the commotion surprisingly contained in the four walls of the room, and not even a wisp of energy escaping through the door seams or the open windows.
Damion, the cause of all the mess, lay on his back, breathing slowly through the mask on the lower half of his face.
The mask, originally black, seemed like it had been remade. It had morphed to look like the snout of a beast —a Dragon— and instead of its pure black color with Green hieroglyphs, it now had a dark Purple color in some areas, with Purple runes replacing the green hieroglyphs.
Damion sat up with some effort, groaning in what seemed like pain and pleasure. ’This feeling, it’s like that time I absorbed the Green Rose Poison Heart’s essence,’ Damion thought.
He stretched his body, his bones popping as his limbs loosened slowly. The glow in his eyes remained, having a green tint to it, but it seemed to be dying down.
He traced a hand over his face, feeling the mask, and a screen suddenly showed up in his face, stunning him briefly as he hadn’t expected that.

Damion tilted his head in confusion. ’Transcendent Rank?’ he thought. ’What’s that, a Rank above Peak Rank?’
The Blessing of Knowledge came alive, answering him, and Damion nodded his head in understanding. "Transcendent Rank, a Rank above the Peak Rank," Damion soliloquized.
"If I remember correctly, there are four known Artifact Ranks, Lower, Middle, Higher and Peak, with each Rank having 5 levels in them," Damion began. "This Ranking was created based on Beast’s Rankings, and humans also adapted to that Ranking."
"I wonder how much sweat and blood was spilt to get such information."
"Speaking of the rankings even, most of the students are still in the Lower Rank with no signs of improvement, and although there are strong ones out there, I haven’t seen any."
"Are they all in hiding, preparing for the upcoming Training Program?"
Damion paused and looked around. He furrowed his brow when he registered the chaotic look of the room, and he couldn’t help but ask out loud, "What happened here?"
It was only now that he noticed that the room looked like a tempest had occurred right in the center. His eyes darted around in shock, but he soon calmed down and returned his gaze to the system.
He looked at the skills under the Jaws of Ophidia again, and he squinted his eyes. ’Hidden?’ he thought. ’But why?’
"Am I just too low-level to access the skill?" Damion wondered, letting out a frustrated sigh. Nothing came easily in this world, and his recent streak of lucky encounters was bound to come to an end.
He thought back to the Green Rose Poison Heart and the mask on his face. Their relation wasn’t obvious, but Damion knew that there was something about the Green Rose Poison Heart that he saw in the Jaws of Ophidia.
Both came in mysterious ways and boosted his strength, even though that wasn’t their aim. They both were poison related, and they were found in hidden places, their origins unknown.
Toby, who was hiding the Jaws of Ophidia, probably had an idea of where the Green Rose Poison Heart had come from, but he was still missing, leaving Damion with more questions than answers. Perhaps they were related to the gang, he couldn’t tell yet.
"I’ll ask him when I come across him again, for now, I need to head to the Combat Class," Damion said. "And I need to complete my Daily Quests too."
