Dragon System: Red Dragon Legacy-Chapter 66: Matter Of hearts
Lilian broke the kiss, and Orion stared at her in disbelief.
A collective gasp spread through the crowd. Julia covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes shining with excitement, while Josephine and Revo exchanged looks, already calculating Aguri’s reaction once he learned about this.
Lilian turned her face away from Orion, her cheeks burning red.
At that moment, the healers finally rushed toward Orion. However, before they could reach him, Orion pushed himself up.
The healers froze midway, their gazes fixed on something behind him.
Orion turned around—and immediately understood why.
Sofia had arrived.
She had rushed here the moment she heard about Orion’s duel with Aguri, only to witness him kissing Lilian the instant she arrived.
Her eyes darkened as an oppressive aura surrounded her. A single tear slid down her cheek.
Then she turned and ran.
"Sofia!" Orion didn’t hesitate.
Ignoring his injuries, he forced himself to move and chased after her.
In such a short time, Sofia had claimed a large portion of his heart. The thought of losing her completely blinded him—so much so that he forgot Lilian, who was sitting right beside him.
Lilian remained rooted to the spot, her hands clenched tightly. She was furious—mostly at herself.
"If I had acted on my feelings sooner... maybe this wouldn’t have happened," she thought, her heart heavy with regret.
Grinding her teeth, she made her decision.
There was no point in just sitting there and grumbling. It was now or never—she had to confront Orion about their relationship.
She ran after Orion as well.
The crowd stood frozen in shock.
Two of the most desirable women in the entire kingdom were chasing after a boy who was a nobody up until this momment.
The boys in the crowd did not take this well.
"That lucky bastard..." one muttered bitterly.
"Yeah. I now feel mad that the hero candidate didn’t beat him up," another said through clenched teeth.
But not everyone was blind.
"Did you see how he defeated the hero candidate even while Aguri was cheating?" someone spoke up. "That guy is definitely not a nobody."
The surrounding boys fell silent, forced to admit the truth.
"Oh ho ho ho... we already had a great love triangle in our hands, and now there’s a second one! Today just keeps on giving... that boy must be so much fun to be around," Julia said, a wide grin spreading across her face—unbecoming of a lady of her status.
"You really think he’s having fun?" Revo said dryly. "He’s dealing with two furious women—one of them a hero candidate. That doesn’t sound fun to me."
"Oh, I didn’t mean fun for him," Julia replied with a grin. "I meant fun for us spectators."
"You’re terrible," Revo muttered, rolling his eyes.
Orion finally caught up to Sofia in a small garden.
"Sofia—wait. What you saw doesn’t tell the whole story."
She turned around sharply, her eyes red from crying.
"Are you going to abandon me now?" she asked, not even listening to what he was saying.
Orion’s eyes widened.
"What? No! She kissed me, okay? I don’t even know what she meant by it!"
"And if she says she loves you?" Sofia pressed. "What will you do then?"
Orion fell silent.
After a moment, he spoke, his gaze dark and intense.
"Sofia... you have no idea how big a place you have in my heart. I won’t let you go. Even if you want to leave—I won’t allow it."
Sofia froze, her heart fluttering at the possessiveness in his voice.
"You mean that?" she asked softly.
"Yes," Orion replied without hesitation.
"And if she says she won’t be with you unless you leave me?"
"...Then I’ll let her go." The words cut through him, breaking something inside his heart as he said them. Yet they were the truth—although he cared for Lilian deeply, he couldn’t abandon Sofia now. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Sofia’s eyes widened. She had never imagined Orion would go that far for her.
She rushed forward and hugged him tightly.
"Ow—ow—!" Orion hissed in pain.
"I—I’m sorry! I didn’t realize you were hurt. I’m really sorry," she said quickly, loosening her grip.
Despite the pain, Orion smiled.
They sat together on a bench for a moment before Sofia stood up.
"We need to get you to the infirmary." She said after seeing him bleeding.
Orion nodded and followed her.
But just as they were about to leave—
"Orion."
Lilian stepped out from behind a tree.
Orion froze.
Sofia’s expression immediately darkened.
Lilian had heard everything.
At first, she had planned to give up. But just as she turned away, a sharp pain pierced her heart.
’Why should I give him up? He loved me first... and I deserve him more than that home wrecking bitch’ she thought.
Her resolve hardened.
’So what if he wants to be with that slut too? As long as he loves me just as much... I don’t care.’
She looked at Sofia coldly.
’We’ll see who he loves more.’
"What the hell are you doing here?" Sofia snapped.
"I can be wherever I want," Lilian replied, snapping back.
Then she stepped forward and kissed Orion again.
Sofia’s eyes burned with fury.
"You bitch!" Sofia snapped at Lilian, her anger flaring.
Lilian didn’t hold back either.
The two immediately clashed, shouting and grappling with each other in a fierce struggle.
"Stop!" Orion shouted.
Both girls froze and looked at him.
He turned to Lilian.
"You heard everything, right? Then you should understand this— even if you want to be with me, I won’t leave Sofia."
Lilian lowered her gaze.
"I know..." she said quietly, then lifted her head with a sharp smile.
"And I don’t care. As long as you love me just as much—that’s enough."
Orion was stunned.
Then he looked at both of them.
"Alright, but you both need to understand this," Orion said seriously, his possessive aura unconsciously seeping out. "I’m a very possessive man. Even if I’m with both of you, I won’t allow either of you to be with another man."
"I know," Sofia replied softly, a faint smile forming on her lips. She found herself drawn to this side of Orion more and more. "That’s exactly why I love you."
"You’re such a hypocrite," Lilian muttered, shaking her head. Then she smiled faintly. "But I fell for you anyway... so that’s on me, I guess."
For the first time, Orion felt truly at peace. He felt like the happiest man in the entire universe.
"Now let’s get you to the infirmary," Sofia said. "You’re still bleeding."
With both girls by his side, Orion left the garden—walking toward a future far more complicated than he ever imagined.
