DRAGONBORN SORCERER-Chapter 40: The Destruction Pt—2

While Vitra went for the minions, Skyler headed for Fredric who was the root of their problems.

Since the demons were still gathering negative energy, Rose cast a barrier, surrounding the church along with them. Now they were isolated, and were prevented from getting negative energy any longer.

Fredric panicked a little, yet stood firm as he unleashed his Hydro-spears again. Before Skyler could dodge them, the spears again hit a barrier. He took a glance at Rose who cast the spell while remaining behind.

’I have been being useless so far.’ A flame burned in her eyes as she thought, ’But not any more. This time I shall put my everything to protect them.’

Skyler was a little far from her, yet he could see the burning determination in her. He chuckled as his fists enflamed in scorches.

With a leap, he almost hit Fredric, landing so close to him. However, Fredric swiftly dodged that as though the attack somehow became slow. His lips expressed a sign of sinister smile while dodging that.

’Vitra was right.’ Thought Skyler, seeing how easily Fredric dodged his attack which was rather fast in normal vision, ’They can manipulate time around their body. Guess I have to use a different approach.’

Falling back at a distance, he cast his thunder spell which electrified the whole around Fredric. Thunder sparkled in the air. Fredric looked concerned. Though only just a little.

"Let’s see how you can manage to avoid this." Skyler said, his both hands flickering with small thunder sparkles. He clapped his both palms together.

"Shockwave Explosion!"

As he discharged the thunder from his hands, it created a massive shockwave that propagated though the entire area forming multiple electrical shockwaves which later collapsed with each other, and formed an intense explosion.

Fredric who was trapped in the explosion, wasn’t nimble enough as to evade. He took the full of it. As consequences, his body looked like a roasted chicken. His flesh burned, his skin emitting smoke.

On the other side, Vitra who had been controlling her anger for so long, finally got the opportunity to unleash her wrath.

She stood before the eleven demons hiding under the disguise of nuns and priests. Before they could use their attacks, several shackles made of flames emerged from the ground.

They went straight for those demons and bounded them, wrapping with flames. The demons weren’t able to even move.

As Vitra clinched her right fist, the shackles pulled the demons towards each other. smashing them together, the shackles formed a sphere, and compressed them without leaving any spot for the air to pass.

They might have endured her previous attack which after a certain time vanished. However the next attack that she used, could withstand for eternity.

She called three lance-like sticks, incarnation of flames itself. And they were condensed with her fiery mana. They pierced though the compressed sphere and struck the ground, standing like a radial-tri cross pattern while holding the demons at the center— at the common point through which the lances pierced through.

"Karmic Insolation!" she muttered with a satisfaction smile. "If you can manipulate the time around your body, then I’ll keep your body trapped till the end of time itself. Though I highly doubt you can withstand it for that long. Even the higher stage demons can’t do that."

A sudden explosion snatched her attention. It was the shockwave explosion caused by Skyler. She turned her face to see what happened.

The result on the other side was also a satisfaction for her. She knew Skyler could manage to defeat him easily. She smiled, so as Skyler, thinking the job had been done earlier than they had expected.

However, a sinister laughed still echoed through the surroundings. It was Fredric. Despite how worse his condition was, he still managed to laugh like a lunatic.

"Think you can beat me." He screamed, his voice deep and menacing, "It takes more than that to defeat me, and you arrogant fools don’t have that kind of strength. HAA-HAA-HAA."

His laughter intensified Vitra’s anger more. Her eyes turned ferocious, unleashing her oppressive crimson aura. If the barrier wasn’t up, the entire area might have caught up in her suffocating presence. Yet, somehow, Fredric was ignorant enough to overlook that.

"My Lord." Vitra said, walking straight towards Skyler. Her motion was slow and passionate even though her face was dead serious in overwhelming anger "Do I have the permission to erase his existence?"

Her lips twisted with a smile. It made him a little scared. Though he knew she won’t do anything to him if he denied her suggestion, he gave her the permission with a hesitant nod.

"You ignorant foolish human." Vitra continued walking.

Her aim was Fredric who was still recovering, but rather slower than before. He saw the anger in her eyes as she slowly closed in.

"It’s shame that I can’t allow you a second chance as your about to witness the wrath of one of the Primordial Ruler Dragons. If you went to hell or back to shadow realm, regret there for mocking us."

Vitra’s mana cascaded though her hands. About a hundred magic circles formed around Fredric, entrapping him in a cage like structure. There wasn’t even the slightest gap for wind to pass.

And then, it finally happened. Vitra who had been holding all of her anger back, now unleashed her wrath upon Fredric.

"Agni Cataclysm!" she screamed, and the circles began to pour intense flames on him. The fire was so intense that within a minute, she completely erased Fredric’s existence.

’Whoa!’ exclaimed Skyler in his mind, ’I’ll remember not to piss her off. Who knows one day my fate may end up like him.’

He chuckled uncertainly, as he clapped, "Well done, Vitra. That was amazing!"

Hearing the complement from him, her anger cooled down. Replying him with her cute smile she said, "Thanks, my lord. I’m honoured to receive such praise from you."

She was happy. So as Rose and Leonardo. McVill, by the way, was still unconscious. The situation felt resolved. But it wasn’t— not yet.

As soon as Fredric’s existence was reduced, a ground started shaking. The demons which were trapped under Vitra’s ’Karmic Insolation’ burst out from there.

A new demon— a new foe appeared from beneath the ruined Church and absorbed the trapped demons.

Vitra and Skyler fell back to where Rose and others were. They saw a twenty-feet long demon, emerging from the ground.

The domos looked fearsome. His body was pitch-black, with a pair of horns. His flesh was materialized by the negative energy Fredric had collected for so many years. His very aura was suffocating. It even affected the barrier Rose cast to prevent him from absorbing any more energy.

"What do you do now?" Leonardo stammered, his eyes filled with terror. "If it start to march, it’ll absorb the entire nation."

His statement didn’t distract Rose. She knew as long as Skyler stood before her, there wasn’t anything that could literally affect them. He stared at him with admiration.

’What the hell...’ Skyler thought, irritation taking over is face, ’If I’d knew something like this is going on here, I might have avoided engaging myself with the church. But, now that I stand before it, I can’t even back off. I’ll keep it mind not get involved with the church again.’

He looked at Vitra who was also concerned. She didn’t expected the demon to break her spell. Though, she knew her spell couldn’t be penetrated from inside.

"You foolish human...." The demons screamed. The shockwave of his screaming was immense. Even it affected Leonardo and Rose’s eardrums. "I’ll perish everything. Stand in my way and perish as well."

"My lord, what now." Vitra asked Skyler, "If we attack him, he might reverse the effects again. Judging by his appearance it’s no wonder if he manipulate time on his body over and over."

"You’re right." He replied, chuckling at her, "But fear not I have an excellent idea on my mind. You just wait and see."

Skyler’s gaze shifted on Rose. He looked at her with polite, giving her the impression as though the time had come for her to shine.

"Rose, I want you to break the barrier." Skyler pointed the barrier around them.

"But my lord." Rose hesitated, "If I do that, then the demon will gain ore strength by absorbing all the negative energy."

"It doesn’t matter." He reassured her, putting a logic in her head, "Let him have it. It’ll help t purify all the negative emotions from people’s heart. And we can ultimately purify all the corruption through it."

Rose understood what he meant. And she did exactly what she was told to.

As soon as she put off the barrier, more negative energy gathered around the demon, powering it up as its size grew larger.

And the time came, when all the negative emotions from entire Rosevill was absorbed by it. It was now invincible.

Rose stood while waiting for Skyler’s next command. While Leonardo attended McVill, Rose, Vitra and Skyler stood against the demon— against the chaos that took its first step towards destruction.
