Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos-Chapter 287: Unexpected Encounter
Lin Feng landed a little far away before walking calmly towards the entrance. When he arrived at the entrance, two disciples who were working as guards looked at him with scrutiny.
"Halt there. What is the purpose of your visit?" One of them spoke immediately.
"Fellow friend, I am a leader of a newly formed bandit group. I was thinking of selling some things if possible..." Lin Feng decided to use this excuse. If it worked then it would be perfect. If not, he would just run away.
The guards squinted their eyes, "A lowly bandit like you has guts to come in front of us. Truly marvelous. It seems you didn’t fear death."
Lin Feng was amused. Although these two acted enraged and were threatening him, he could feel no ounce of killing intent from them, "My bad fellow friends. I was just sent here by one of my friends. He said this is the place to visit..."
While saying that, Lin Feng took little steps back showing that he was genuinely afraid.
The guards smirked, "And here I thought that you were quite brave coming here in the open and announcing that you are a bandit... tsk. Anyway, look there."
The guard pointed towards the mountain which was at the starting of the valley. There was a small pavilion on its base.
"Go there. You will find someone who manages all this. Now leave and don’t come in the open like that again. You newbies are really without brain."
Lin Feng nodded, "Alright..." and left hurriedly. After going a little far, he just left. There was no need to dig further. Next time they could just capture that person in the small pavilion and all of their crimes could be uncovered.
He flew up and decided to just randomly fly in the nearby area. There was a high chance that these bandits would be active near this area more since it was far safer for them to act here.
He had just flown for a few minutes when he came to a completely eradicated village. His guess seemed to be right.
The next village he encountered was also only scorched remains of houses and bones.
It seemed this area had been already totally annihilated. He couldn’t help but wonder if it was done by bandits or Quiet Wind Sect itself. He wouldn’t be surprised if it was the latter.
As he moved a little further from Quiet Wind Sect, he found more and more destroyed villages, and when he thought that he might not find anything, his eyes landed on rising flames in the distance.
He immediately sped up, and what came to his sight was the ruins of another village. The only thing different was that the bandits were still present here surrounding a dark black wolf and a wounded little girl along with slain corpses of bandits nearby them.
The sounds of wailing and cries for help were echoing from the women who were captured grouped together.
"Save us..."
"Help..."
"Shut up you sluts, and you guys kill that creature... It’s on its last leg," one of the bandits roared as he pointed his spear towards the wolf.
Lin Feng had a feeling that he had seen this type of wolf before, but his memories seemed blurry about it. Oh well, he could find out that later.
One of the bandits dashed forward, and before he could even reach the attacking range, Lin Feng hit the sole of his foot.
THUDD
CRACKK
The neck of the bandit got flattened, and his head almost got buried inside his body. Lin Feng landed calmly as the body fell to the ground.
Silence fell on the group of bandits as they got stunned due to what had happened. They looked at Lin Feng with absolute fear in their eyes. The fact that he had come from above meant he could fly. That meant he was in Core Formation or above.
Most of the bandits were Foundation Establishment Realm with a few of them reaching the peak of it.
They immediately decided to run. Lin Feng could feel their intentions. He created multiple small orbs of yang flame, and just as the bandits took their first step, all of them were hit by one of them.
They burnt brilliantly for a second before not even ashes were left.
The few woman survivors were shocked and looked at Lin Feng fearfully. Lin Feng took out a talisman and activated it before looking towards the wolf and the injured girl who seemed to be nine or ten years old. She had burn marks all over her body and was unconscious probably due to pain. At least she was alive.
"Grrrhhh..."
Lin Feng looked at the wolf as it growled towards him. It was only early stage of Bone Reinforcement stage.
Lin Feng took a step forward, "She will die if you don’t let me tend to her..."
The wolf was already very exhausted and injured badly while fighting so many opponents, yet it was standing upright protecting the small girl.
It was quite rare for a beast which hadn’t formed a blood pact with someone to have reached this kind of loyalty.
Beasts’ senses somewhat worked like battle sense, so he had a feeling that it would understand his intentions as he didn’t pose any kind of threat for them, and as expected, when he reached near the wolf, although it was glaring at him, it didn’t attack.
Lin Feng wouldn’t have cared either way. Since he decided to save the life of this little girl, he would do it.
He sat down and took out a grade 1 herb related to vitality and refined it on the spot using yang flames. He didn’t even turn it into a pill and just used his spiritual sense to control a small amount of refined powder and pushed it into the girl’s mouth. He controlled it till it reached her stomach.
As for the leftover grounded herb, he applied it all over her body and then covered her in a new robe.
It didn’t take long before the effect showed up. Her breathing stabilized, and slowly the burnt skin fell off her body like dried flakes.
