"What’s wrong my love? Are you devastated?" Ryan’s voice asked seeing as the tears trailed down Celine’s face. "I believe I once told you, my brother doesn’t know how to love anyone, and he certainly doesn’t love you, all he wants is to save his children, and after that, you’ll be nothing to him." Ryan said in a provocative manner.

"Did you not realize it, that you weren’t what he wanted in this first place but his children? C’mon Celine, you’re a smart woman, he only rushed to you when he found out that you carried his kids, it wasn’t for you, but for his children, do you realize what that means? It means that you mean... Absolutely nothing to him." Ryan grinned from his hiding place in the dark as Celine turned around to glare at the direction where his voice was coming from, her eyes deeply reddened.

"You’ve gotten what you wanted right, now release my children." She demanded in a low voice.

"How could you..." Celine began yelling then suddenly stopped herself when she heard something being said from the television screen, she turned back towards it to look.

"Who’s this? Why did she suddenly arrive at the press conference?" Celine could hear some of the reporters asking amongst each other as they watched the beautiful woman that had suddenly walked into the press conference hall.

The woman strutted elegantly towards the stage where Tristan was standing after making his announcement.

She was wearing a beautiful red dress, which to everyone who knew her, would be aware was her favorite color because she always thought it made her look sexy and she wasn’t wrong.

Tristan who had finished making his announcement and was about to walk down from the stage paused in his tracks, as he watched the woman approaching with a slightly bewildered frown on his face.

With slow steps she walked the steps up the stage with an elegant and confident gait, "Hello Tristan." She said casually with a smirk coming to stand in front of him.

Celine watched as the woman came to stand in front of Tristan, as the woman turned Celine finally could see her face.

"Erica?" Celine murmured seeing the woman’s face clearly, she stood transfixed in her position.

Seeing what was happening on the screen Ryan smiled, as if he had expected that to happen, a confident look surfacing in his eyes.

The reporters eagerly snapped and took shots of the scene, the drama they were getting today was overwhelming, but they didn’t hesitate to document it all. The woman he was once supposed to marry had suddenly showed up after seeming to disappear during the times of his engagement to his current fiancèe, they wouldn’t miss this huge gossip.

But to the reporters disappointment, Erica said something to Tristan and he moved away from the mic, a conversation seemed to be going on between them, but all the reporters below the stage were unable to catch what was being said.

After some time the conversation seemed to have come to an end, and Erica suddenly turned around to leave, Tristan stood on the stage for a moment before proceeding to follow behind Erica.

"Uh, thank you all for coming, the press conference is now over." Kaleb said into the mic before he rushed after Tristan.

The reporters excitedly followed them outside the building to see Tristan getting in the same car with Erica.

Celine who was still in the building with Ryan watched, bewildered as Tristan got into the same car with Erica.

Though she was aware of Tristan’s love for her and that he had no feelings for Erica, but watching that scene caused a deep ache in her heart.

"Oh would you look at that my love, your beloved fiancèe, knowing you are here with me, he still leaves with another woman, I wonder where they are going." Ryan suddenly said, "Aren’t you curious as well? Wait, don’t you think they are going to rekindle their old love, after all, my cousin had indeed been infatuated with this woman once before, he almost made her his wife."

Celine didn’t reply to his taunting words that were obviously deliberately trying to prick at her sore spot and create a misunderstanding between her and Tristan. Though she had no idea why Tristan had left the building with Erica, but deep in her heart she trusted him more than anything, she knew Tristan wouldn’t do anything wrong.

"I want to see my children Ryan," Celine said softly finally looking away from the screen, her eyes glistening with tears she looked at the speakers where Ryan’s voice was coming from, she knew he could see her, "Please, just let me see them, I just want to know they’re safe."

Ryan stared at her face for sometime, he didn’t say anything, but internally, he seemed to be debating whether to agree to her request or not.

"Please." Celine pleaded again, though she knew for certain that Leo and Leah were in Ryan’s hands, she just wanted to see them to confirm their safety.

Ryan scoffed silently, why did this woman’s tears bother him so much? And here he was repeatedly telling himself he’d hate her and torture her, but her tears had softened his heart, he couldn’t bear to see her in pain.

"Fine." He suddenly said with a sigh making Celine feel relieved. "I’ll let you see them, just a glimpse, better keep your eyes on the screen."

Celine quickly turned back towards the screen waiting to see her children, in a second, the image on the screen changed into a beautiful looking children’s bedroom. The room had a lot of toys for kids and two single beds.

Celine sighed as she saw Leah laying in bed seemingly asleep, she was hugging a pink teddy bear in her arms, while Leo was sitting in a chair right close to her, he had a book in his hands which he was focused on reading, but the way he was sitting by his sister, one could tell he was ready to protect her no matter what.

"Such lovely little children they are." Ryan’s voice came again, "Did you think I would mistreat them?" He asked, but Celine’s face was still glued onto the screen, "Apart from the fact that they are my cousin’s children, they are yours as well, how could I bear to hurt them."

Hearing that Celine frowned slightly but she didn’t take her eyes off her children, "I could have done anything for you Celine, anything." He said his voice turning softer, "But you just had to be stubborn and continue pushing me away, on top of that, you chose my cousin over me, him?" There was a trace of bitterness in his tone as he spoke,

Hearing that, a hint of panic surfaced in Celine’s eyes, Ryan’s next words confirmed that he could indeed see her at the moment along with her every little reaction,

Celine scrunched her brows at his words.

Celine silently watched him as he walked closer and closer to her with each word.
