Chapter 891: Chapter 891: Meeting Tengliu

Given how enamoured both Shivali and Freyja were with their prospective son in law and given the time constraints until his departure you’d assume that his last evening meal within the palace would include the two of them. But thanks to their earlier discourteous behaviour Khione refused the very notion. Servants that were sent to inquire about the arrangements were met with death glares and spine tingling threats.

The only one she’d accept at the table was Tengliu, her blood sister and the one person she knew she could count on. Alas granting her permission was a double edged sword. Tengliu was petty and had a mischievous personality. Allowing her to dine at the same table as her betrothed would leave her vulnerable to tales of embarrassment.

Khione wracked her brains back and forth, wondering whether Tengliu was even worth the effort. She dreaded losing face before her paramour especially when she’d be the only victim but deeper than that she was worried about his eyes drifting and her big sister stepping over the line.

Having her first crush at such a developed age made her rather possessive of him and wary of the predators lying in wait amongst her family. Her big sister was unwed, blessed with looks that rivalled her own. Her figure however was smaller and less toned making Khione the winner by a landside in her mind but in leu of that she had ample experience when it came to carnal affairs. She knew well how to satisfy her partners, a well-known player in the game of hunting....a trait she likely inherited from their mother.

Frost had proven be rather resilient to her own clumsy advances, letting himself enjoy the dance but not take any step that could not be taken back. She both admired him for this and felt somewhat disappointed by it. She longed to be taken, to have him assert his dominance, his control over her and grant her that bliss he had repeatedly promised no matter how scared she was inside. But she also understood the why.

Her big sister however was nowhere near as restrained. If she wanted something she’d either have their family grant it or she’d used her S-rank strength to take it by force. Khione dreaded the possibility of seeing Tengliu as her enemy.

Unlike with her mother, father, Skadi and the siblings who took part in the peep show she lacked confidence when it came to Tengliu. Their relationship was special and she feared her prowess. Though she would still brave the fight she wasn’t as confident when it came to besting her.

"Hoh so you’re Frost, the man that made my prudish baby sister all gaga for boys." In the end Khione invited her sister to their evening meal. She decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, to see her as her loving sister rather than a potential fox.

"Gaga an interesting term." With a smirk already on his lips Frost turned to his side to see Khione with a blush on her cheeks and a death glare forming in her eyes. Within seconds her sister had already taunted her, what a great start.

"How would you put it then?" Oblivious to or straight up ignoring Khione’s warnings Tengliu batted her eyelashes at the young man, finding him far better looking than she’d been told previously.

’Lucky bitch, she hit the hunk jackpot with this one.’ Her eyes roamed up and down his figure before finding stubborn purchase on that enchanting face of his. She felt something stirring inside her, a want, a desire but given how important he was to her baby sister she did her best to restrain it instead redirecting her energy towards taunts and teasing.

’She’s fun.’ Frost quite liked this elder sister in law; she had no problems speaking her mind in front of the intimidating Khione and she was very easy on the eyes. A less imposing version of Freyja who despite her attempts to be warm and jovial was still innately threatening given her status as a God and Khione’s biological mother.

"Though ’gaga’ is rather apt it seems to displease the woman in question." He tilted his in gesture to the side, highlighting the building furnace that was Khione.

"Yes she does look rather red in the face doesn’t she." Tengliu’s smile simply stretched in response to Khione’s displeasure.

"Cough cough" Frost couldn’t help but cough as he resisted the urge to laugh out loud.

’If this is how it’s going to be all night I’ll be dead before I get to leave Niflheim.’

"How about ’enlightening her to my bottomless attraction’."

"Hahahah enlightening her to your bottomless attraction hahahah that’s beautiful, poetic even." Tengliu saw no reason to stifle her laughter, so she graced the dining room with her sonorous bellows.

Khione nodded her head when she heard Frost’s words, finding them far more graceful than Tengliu crass but was left fuming and sitting on the edge of her seat when Tengliu laughed to the high heavens.

"You hear that Khione? Were you enlightened to this young man’s bottomless attraction hehehe...." Tengliu jabbed in a playful manner as her eyes shifted downwards. "Actually bottomless isn’t all that appropriate for someone with your ’stature’ isn’t that right Frost?"

"Cough cough" Frost ended up blushing himself and nearly choking on the air in his lungs. True he couldn’t be considered bottomless; in fact he was rather plentiful in that department.

"TENGLIU!!!" Khione roared in anger, slamming her hands down on the table making it vigorously tremble. If it was made of normal materials it would have shattered.

"Hahahahaha she’s so adorable isn’t she Frost."

"Yes very."

"Frost! I may not be able to beat my sister, but I can still bully you." Khione’s head slowly rotated, turning her death glare on him instead of Tengliu. She even cracked her knuckles to lend weight to her threat.

A fake cold sweat dripped down Frost’s back as he pretended to act somewhat subdued. "It’s an honour to meet you Tengliu, Khione has told me a lot about her charming big sister." He smiled in a friendly manner, very professional and amenable while stretching his hand over the table.

"Oh no the honour is mine young Frost, it isn’t every day I get to be blessed with such beauty." She openly flirted, licking her lips in a tempting manner. Her words weren’t lies nor were they exaggerations, Frost truly was a rarity even within her wide social circles.

"Please sister in law if anyone is being graced with beauty it’d be me, a flower across and a flower beside, how lucky." Frost responded with his own natural charm, something that immediately dimmed the light in Khione’s eyes. She instinctively smelled danger and thus ignored the praise that was directed her way.

Tengliu not expecting such skills from a man of Frost’s age blinked her eyes a couple times before letting her flirtatious smile grow. "Now I understand, our family has offered up a lamb to be the partner of a wolf." She sensed a familiar trait; this man was dangerous especially towards someone as naive as her baby sister.

Frost didn’t respond with a vocal confirmation instead he tapped the side of his nose before quietly laughing.

"Little Nene." Tengliu called towards Khione who’s eyes were starting to darken.

"Hmm?"

"You’ve landed quite the catch baby sister; it would be in your best interests to fiercely protect him from any, circling vultures." She gave Khione some heartfelt advice while doing her best to make sure she wouldn’t become one of those so called vultures.

"....Don’t worry sis, anyone foolish enough to try and take him will meet the sharp end of my spear." The way Khione smiled and the dark, merciless look in her eyes sent shivers -real this time- down Frost’s spine. Tengliu on the other hand felt emboldened by her reaction, she didn’t have to worry about Khione losing her first crush when she was this possessive.

The only possibility would be if Frost was turned off by such possessiveness....but from what she could see that wasn’t going to be a problem.

’Haaaaa again I don’t know whether I should feel jealous of her or sympathise with her.’

Thankfully shortly after the tentative meet and greet the servants appeared with their starter, an ursa meat broth with large chunks of life energy rich vegetables.

Tengliu let her sister get some food in her belly before she went on the real offensive, dishing out countless embarrassing stories, fulfilling her duty as the big sister.

Of course Khione hated every second of it, but Frost absolutely loved it. He desperately wanted to know everything about this woman no matter how embarrassing or how minor the story was his heart grew fonder and the muscles in his cheeks started to hurt because of all the smiling.

Eventually Khione realised that Tengliu wasn’t going to stop, her anger was pointless so she began landing attacks of her own, trying to destroy the elegant and beautiful image that she’d presented to her paramour but unfortunately this was a battle she could not win.

Not only was she lacking in ammunition when compared to Tengliu her opponent wasn’t bothered in the slightest, shame was a foreign notion to the woman. In fact Khione’s reckless attempts served to only encourage Tengliu to openly flirt with Frost and he being a man who enjoyed a little bit of mischievous fun played right into it, resulting in him receiving several bonks on the head.

In his opinion though, more than worth it.
