Uriel was beyond baffled and didn't know what to think. The whole reason why he risked getting spotted and hurried to the Dungeon Raiders headquarters was because he needed to rescue Medusa who was supposedly being held captive by the horror level skinwalker. However, right in front of him stood someone who looked just like Medusa and was completely immune to silver.

Not just that, she was accompanying Sam who's now being possessed by Water warlock.

"I know how you must feel Nika, but I want you to know that I don't have anything against you. If anything, I'm only doing what's best for everyone." Sam replied showing the palms of his hands.

"How can you say something like that after what you put us through? Now that you created your own corporation, the government withdrew our agreement and no one is buying orichalcum from us!" Nika's voice oozed resentment. Even if she wasn't the closest with Sam, she considered him a friend and a trusted ally and felt betrayed when he founded his own company.

"I didn't play any part in that, or any of the unfortunate events you've endured. In fact, I came to help."

"Help? Like you've been helping the hybrids, right?" growled.

"Exactly..." Sam replied.

"You don't even deny it!?" Uriel continued. The sole reason why he wasn't at Sam's throat was becase he knew how pointless it would be, since Water warlock's blessing would keep him from dying.

"There's no point in denying the truth and even if we're not friends anymore, I won't lie to you. When the dungeon break took place, all the cryptids took shelter in other POIs but some of them came to the city. If all the hunters came together killing them should have been easy, but killing them isn't the issue."

"It's finding them..." Luna finished Sam's sentence.

"Exactly. That's why I founded my own corporation. You guys are too busy playing in ruinous places, without even the slightest consideration to people's safety. Everything could have been avoided if Uriel kept his nose out of the Alamo dungeon, but then he went even further and had to meddle in my business too.

Listen, I'm not sayings will go back to how they were before, all I'm asking is for you guys to stay out of my way."

Sam's words seemed reasonable and he acted calm, even when thinking back at what happened inside the 'Belly of the world' dungeon. But Uriel knew it was onlye due to Water warlock's influence, even if Sam looked calm, he was most likely thinking of ways to either kill them or use them to his own obscure purposes.

"What do you mean by that?" Nika leaned forward and Uriel was able to catch a glimpse of Sam's awkwardness in front of her.

"I divided this city, east district belongs to the hybrids you guys know as Doppelgangers. North belongs to the vampires and south... well, let's just say it's in your best interest to stay out of those districts."

"So you're saying that we should remain only on the west gate district? What makes you feel you have any say in whatever we want to do?" Nika rebuked.

"This is only a measure to reduce victims to a minimum, I..."

"You say you have our best interest in mind, you say you worry about safety, but then you go and turn three out of four district into cattle farms!" Uriel couldn't endure it any longer and threw a punch at Sam, but he didn't bother dodging.

"This is probably the last time we see each other, brother... I wish you a good life." Sam said with a wry smile.

"That... sort of includes me too," Medusa failed to hold back her tears, but continued speaking nonetheless. "I'm done with this, with all this. I'll be going back to my family, with Sam by my side I'll be safe so you don't need to worry about that. Uriel, I just want you to know that I forgive you for what you did on easter island, but things between us can never be the same.

Bye." As Medusa's speech progressed she cried harder and louder, to the point where she couldn't endure it any longer and left the place.

"That was awkward..." Uriel sighed.

"That must be really painful." Nika embraced Uriel from behind.

"Now we can... uhm... be together forever." Luna rubbed her cheek on him.

"Stop it you two, that wasn't Medusa!"

"There, there..." Luna patted Uriel on the back.

"Poor thing, I know it's difficult to accept reality, but..." Nika wiped a tear.

"Stop this circus! I know she's not the real Medusa and I can prove it!"

At the same time those events transpired, somewhere in the east district in a dark room reinforced with alloy, a woman cried sad and angry tears. Her hair was disheveled, her body was naked and painted with many scratch marks and patches of missing skin, she was tied with thick alloy chains not even a heavenly rank hunter could break on their own.

She had been trapped for several days, eating the bare minimum to stay alive and being tortured in horrible ways.

"Why did this have to happen to me?" Her chest bobbed up and down as she sobbed. "What did I ever do to deserve this? Uriel, come save me!" She pleaded with a weak voice until her voice faded in the distance.

"Who's there?" A feminine voice probed in the darkness.

"I- I'm Mary."

"Mary!? Why would Uriel come to save you!?" Medusa, who was being kept in another cell right next to Mary in similar conditions, asked with an angry vein almost poppin off her forehead. Even if she endured the same treatment as Mary, her will wasn't as feeble as to become helpless just because she was imprisoned.

"Because... last time..."

"Nevermind, that doesn't matter. Just be patient, I'm sure he'll figure it out and he'll come save us. For now... just try to survive."
