Dungeon Raider System-Chapter 934: What’s in the box
Chapter 934: What’s in the box
Uriel’s fist carried all of his sizeable strength and the momentum carried by Dash, he also applied all of his weight like he had been taught by Captain Silvermane when fighting against a werewolf whom he later found out to be Luna. He also used the martial arts training he had performed with Medusa for so long in order to achieve the most efficient punch that would have had a devastating effect on anything. Anything but a god.
Aphrodite knew this to be the case, yet she still attempted to block the incoming fist. Not because she feared the power a single heavenly rank could muster, but rather out of instinct and although her call was the correct one, that didn’t mean she was able to block the fist at all as Uriel released an impressive amount of power through his shoulder bones creating a semblance of wings that allowed him to go beyond his limitations.
Uriel’s knuckles shattered upon contact, then his wrist broke and the same happened to his forearm up to the elbow. He could feel every instant of the progressive injury due to Dash altering his perception of time, but he kept a smile the entire time that grew wider when the divine nose broke under the pressure causing a nosebleed she attempted to contain with both hands.
"How dare you hit the goddess of beauty in the face?" Her voice came out in a high pitch after the bellowing thunder of the sacrilegious punch.
"Taking you seriously when you sound like that is just impossible." Uriel chuckled in a taunting manner as he summoned the Red thread of fate on his hand.
"Don’t bother, that needle won’t even pierce my skin. Besides, I know better than to cause you any harm. I saw what your little skill does and I’m not so stupid as to fall in your provocations." Aphrodite said, still covering her nose as she knew it to be crooked.
At that moment, the doors opened in a burst as two hunters possessed by gods walked in.
"Do you need a hand?" Dionysius, also called bacchus, said dismissively.
"Professor Lamar?" Asked Luna in not so apparent confusion.
"Not anymore, well... yes, but... this is too troublesome and you’ll explain it better," Bacchus spoke the last part to himself, then his attitude shifted. "It is me now."
"I see, you are possessed." Luna nodded..
"Indeed, I am afraid my inner demons got the best of me and I ended up addicted to my medicine." Lamar sighed, then started casually conversing with Luna while ignoring Aphrodite’s shrieks altogether.
"And you are?" Uriel asked to Hazel, knowing she must have been possessed by something, but failing to think of a single mythological being that would line up with her values.
"My name is..." Hazel was about to speak, but Medusa cut her short with her signature first strike kick.
"She’s mine." Her crimson eyes glittered so brightly Uriel made sure to avoid looking her in the eye to prevent becoming a casualty.
Hazel, or rather Athena, let herself be pushed away by the kick until she reached the wall. Then she wiped her mouth letting a sigh of relief the moment she confirmed she wasn’t hurt by the kick. Not that she would have been surprised after seeing first hand what Uriel did to Aphrodite. Her relief was short lived as Medusa followed up with another kick which did cause more damage as she was now against the wall.
"How did you...?" Athena attempted to speak, but was shut off by a pointy orichalcum shield shoved into her mouth. That was bad enough, but Medusa followed up with a punch that felt harmless until the mechanic gears on the gauntlet Medusa wore activated causing a piston to go off with enough power to turn water into plasma.
Medusa tried all of her trinkets, from pointy things, sharp objects, to even tools designed for advanced robotics. Each in a more creative way than the latter, giving Athena barely enough time to remain on her feet.
Medusa had yet to draw first blood, but nothing seemed to stop her as she dropped all pretend of following the martial arts she had been practicing from the moment she was able to stand on her feet. She came at Athena from all sides brandishing senseless objects and powerful weapons alike in such disorderly fashion the goddess of strategic war could not predict.
"How did you like that?" Medusa spat on the ground and adjusted her cleavage as the wild fight had more than once threatened to expose more than decorum allowed. Her hair was a mess and she was sweaty all over, yet all care about appearances was thrown out the window the moment Athena showed up.
"Read this out loud!" Uriel shouted as he handed an adjusted copy of the exorcism, this one containing Aphrodite’s name.
"Again!?" Lizzy Dragonfang pouted and the rest of the dungeon Raiders shared her sentiment as they were more than tired of reading things out loud.
"Would you rather fight her?" Uriel’s eyes glimmered in bright blue before pouncing on Aphrodite who, quite unexpectedly, turned to run instead of face him.
"Please, someone help me!" The goddess of beauty shouted as Uriel chased after her, smoke coming off of her as the exorcism began. With each word the Dungeon Raiders pronounced Aphrodite could feel how she started losing control of her vessel, but not to the point of rendering her unable to run. At that moment she wished it was anyone but Uriel the one after her, as she knew thanks to the fight she witnessed against the lorelei that Uriel was completely unaffected by her charms. "how did you even know how to adjust the exorcism?" She growled.
"Handing out exorcisms in phonetics was a smart trick, but you missed the fact that I can translate enocchian with the same easy I can translate sumerian." Uriel said, a smirk petrified on his face as one of his arms hung lifeless around his body, flapping in the wind his speed caused.
The battle between Medusa and Athena still raged as the goddess of strategic war went from defense to offense, failing to pierce through Medusa’s shield despite her power. At that moment Athena wished she had taken her time to learn how to control Hazel’s trait, but the most she could do with it was to create a stone spear she used to keep Medusa busy.
"and you figured all that out by yourself? I’m impressed about how much you’ve grown." Lamar complimented Luna on her research.
"It was all thanks to the rigorous scientific method you taught me, Professor. Without it, I would still be reading bedtime stories believing them to be real." Luna replied, both professor and student absolutely uncaring of the wild scene taking place in the church.
"I’m afraid it’s all for nothing, there is no place for humans in this world anymore." Lamar sighed.
"Is that your opinion?" Luna asked.
"No, it’s the objective truth. There is nothing we humans can do to prevent it, it’s in the hands of the gods now."
"That’s hardly something the professor I knew would ever say. Do you think your mind could possibly be under the influence of the god of wine?" freёnovelkiss.com
"Maybe," Lamar chuckled. "but that doesn’t change the fact that this world is going to end no matter what we do. As we speak, one of the most powerful gods is currently fighting the army outside, but I don’t think they’ll be able to contain him much longer."
It was less than a minute, but due to Aphrodite’s lack of self control due to the pain inflicted by the broken nose, Uriel was finally able to restrain her and the exorcism finished without her resisting anymore.
"I am a servant of god, please remove yourself from top of me... unless you intend to take advantage of me, in that case I’ll give you ten minutes but no more." Sister Marianne, the real nun, spoke with a no nonsense attitude.
Uncaring to clear the misunderstanding, Uriel simply knocked her out for safe measure and handed her to Bella who received the unconscious nun with a perplexed face as not even her as a witch would dare to hit a defenseless nun.
"Oh, boy! They weren’t kidding when they said this country had a budget big enough to fight a god." Ares walked inside the church expecting to find worshipers and he frowned at the sight of people pointing their weapons at him. "is this how you greet your lord?"
"Tate?" Asked Uriel, most certain that Tate was no longer in charge of his own body.
"I am Ares, the conqueror." Ares in Tate’s body pressed on his muscles enough to make them bulge and make himself more imposing. Not that it was needed as no one paid any attention to his figure, but rather on the small wooden box covered in greek letters that dripped blood onto the ground.
