CHAPTER 305

Even with the spectacle and problems around Liu Xueyi, that did not stop his friends from having fun and living free.

One such was Rong Bolin. Unlike the rest they knew things about, none knew when their supposedly tough and hardened-hearted friend fell in love and got himself a dashing girlfriend.

Walking into his living room, Rong Bolin adjusted his reading glasses and quickly glanced at the place.

After some seconds passed and he did not find what he was looking for, he frowned at the turn of events.

"Where could she be?" He muttered to himself and turned back.

With his brows furrowing slightly, Rong Bolin called out to her.

"Little bun?"

There was no response. "Little bun," he called out again and got the same thing.

Increasing his footsteps, he walked over to the kitchen and to his surprise, he met her there happily cooking. ƒ𝚛𝐞𝚎𝑤𝘦𝚋𝓷o𝚟e𝘭.c𝐨𝙢

Standing by the counter in the kitchen, a young lady dressed in a simple Jean short and a baggy white t-shirt, diced away on the greens in front of her.

She had her hair neatly packed into a ponytail and tucked carefully inside a hair net while she worked.

Occasionally, she lifted her head, sending her gaze to the pot of food on the fire before returning her attention to the carrots and other vegetables in front of her chipping board.

At first, he was ready to complain about her lack of response to his call when he noticed the white ear pods blocking her ears and smiled.

'She doesn't know when to rest, does she?' Rong Bolin shook his head.

Without thinking much about it, he quietly made his way over to where she was and wrapped his hands around hers.

Instantly, the young lady paused and tried to look at her side only to get pecked on the cheeks, leaving her stunned.

Taking hold of this opportunity, Rong Bolin pulled the knife from her hand, ridding her of it completely.

"Bolin," her gentle voice called out calmly.

She knew she would get an earful of scolding and complaints from him.

Ever since she agreed to date him, he had shown her a side of him she never thought she would see.

He took care of her and pampered her beyond words, which she was not expecting from someone as strong and bossy looking as him.

"You know what you are doing wrong, don't you?" He questioned calmly, making sure every word let out carried with it the weight of her disobedience and the possible consequences.

"I am not doing anything wrong if I am looking out for you, Bolin," she explained.

"You are. I clearly stated, no cooking or doing anything that would stress you. You just came back from the hospital," he pressed.

"I did and that was a week ago. I am not a fragile human being. All I had was fever and nothing else."

"Fever kills you know," he retorted sharply.

He was not like his friends who fell in love quickly. For him, it was hard for any lady to capture his heart.

And once he found that one person, he handled her with so much care.

"I do not want to lose you, Eu-meh."

"And you won't. I need you to start understanding that. I am not going anywhere. I have been taking my health more seriously. Eating more these days as you wanted and trying my best to sleep."

He released a deep breath and pulled back from her, taking the knife with him.

Her shoulders slouched. Without being told, she knew he was determined not to let her do anything and it stressed her.

"Bolin."

"Until I see you sleep eight hours a day, eat three times daily without fail. Mind you, eat your fruits and take more veggies, then you won't be allowed into the kitchen."

"Bolin!"

"I am sorry but you are too stubborn. It is either that or nothing."

To make his point known he moved her out of the way gently and resumed her spot in front of the chopping board.

Soon enough his hands went to work dicing the vegetables for her. For the next five minutes, Eu-Meh watched from the side how gently and carefully he did his job.

She never once doubted the fact that he was skilled with a knife when it came to a fight but each time she watched him in the kitchen, he felt different.

There was precision, care and art.

"Why do you always stare at me like that when I cook?" Rong Bolin questioned without sparing her a glance.

"Nothing. I just love to admire your work. I am reminded that even cooking is an art."

"Are you also agreeing to the fact that I cook more than you?"

"Nope," Eu-Meh denied and folded her hands in front of her chest.

I knew you would say that," he chuckled mildly. "Okay, all done. Now, what are you cooking?"

"I cannot believe the great cook's sense of smell is this bad."

"Hey, my sense of smell is great, thank you," he said, pointing the knife at her.

Quickly she lifted both hands in surrender and stepped away. "No doubt."

"Now, that's my girl," he praised her.

"Only when I obey you, huh," she stated as a matter of fact.

"As it should be. No man wants a disobedient lover. You should listen to me."

"As you should as well. Try taking your own advice sometimes you know, love."

"I do. I listen to you."

"Then let me cook," Eu-Meh chipped in her proposal.

"Nope."

"Yes. You see you are still on your reading glasses," she pointed out."

"And so?"

"Meaning, you were working before you came to look for me. I am not doing anything. And I wanted to surprise you but no. You want to ruin it all."

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, then hehehe, I am surprised."

She pursed her lips together and gave him a sardonic smile. "I feel like hitting you."

"Feel free, and when you hurt yourself, I would have more reasons to keep you on bed rest. The only time I want any part of your body stressed, is when I am making love to you. Understood?"

Her cheeks flushed immediately after he uttered those words out loud.

This was one quality he had that she liked. His shamelessness was on a whole different level from most guys she knew.

"I hate you."

"And I love you."

"Urgh!" she was frustrated no doubt. There was nothing she said that he did not counter rightly, leaving her defeated each time.

"Bolin," she grumbled and let her hands fall to her side as she stomped her feet on the ground. "Let me."

"Not until you tell me what you are cooking."

"Is that so?"

"Hmm."

She shifted from one foot to another as she clasped her hands behind her back. "Fine, I am making Kung Pao Chicken and Moo goo gai pan."

He lifted his brows up a bit at her big reveal. At first, he suspected either one of them but never did he think she would be making both.

Just thinking how much she chose to stress herself gave him a headache.

"Eu-Meh Duyi! How many times more do you need me to ring the bell in your head? Stop stressing yourself too much."

"Don't shout."

"How can I not shout? Do you know what you were doing? You are to rest. Look," he pointed his left index finger at her eyes.

"Dark circles, Eu-Meh. Dark circles and your eyes have gone inside their sockets. That tells me you have not been resting properly."

"But I have been trying my best and you know it."

"Yes, but I need you to do better. Order the food if you must. But do not stress for the next month please."

"Okay. I promise to do my best."

"Now that's more like it. Come here."

Obeying his command, she moved closer to him with her head lowered.

Right then she looked more like a young kid who was scolded for wrongdoing. And as cute as he found it, his anger was still there.

The pretty girl he met and fell in love with was looking older with stress. He needed her to retain that glow back.

He hooked his fingers underneath her chin and lifted her head up so her face was visible to his eyes.

"I love you, darling. Don't be mad. All I do is for your sake."

"I know."

"Good."

He placed a peck on her lips, slowly showering her face with a few more before letting her go.

"I better stop before I forget myself and ravage you right now."

Her eyes brimmed with mischief from his words. She went ahead to wrap her hands around his waist, bringing their bodies close together.

"Then do more than a peck," she offered, giving him a sexy wink.

"Tsk, be careful. I may just grant you your wish."

He held her gaze, daring her to blink or look away and take that moment for her escape. Instead, Eu-meh held strongly to her stand, pushing her head closer to his.
