Chapter 229: Get off

Aleister looked into her eyes, leaning closer to her till her waist was pressed back to the table.

With one hand wrapped around her waist, he reached for the food plate with the other.

’’Too many questions,’’ he clicked his tongue, seemingly annoyed.

’’If you find it hard to answer, then let go of me.’’

’’I did not know you before but I want to know you now. Just the way I want to know how a person can have such frail hands and body like they could break any moment,’’ he casually said, bringing a small white pastry to her mouth.

His words sounded honest and yet she did not know why she was filled with disappointment.

Did she want him to tell her that he knew her before? So that she could explain the strange pull she felt towards him?

’’I am not eating.’’

’’Then,’’ Aleister’s gaze dropped to her lips as he leaned closer to her, ’’Shall I eat you?"

A suspicious heat spread through her neck as she placed her palms on his chest, feeling his rigid muscle flex under her touch. But before she could push him away, he tightened his grip and caged her in his arms.

As her bottom shifted on his lap, she felt something hard near her thigh.

Esme’s eyes widened and she almost fainted as embarrassment coursed through her. H-He...I-It was his...

No... no... Think no evil.

But her body was one moment away from trembling. She felt knots forming inside herself. The kind of knots that made her feel ticklish and breathy.

She struggled even harder to stand up but the man’s gaze darkened, ’’Keep moving like that and see if I push you against this table and show you what you are doing with me.’’

’’You would not dare,’’ she warned, regardless of the heat stroking the region between her thighs at his words.

’’Try me.’’

She bit her bottom lips, hating herself for wanting to try him just like he suggested.

Aleister leaned closer to her, their foreheads almost touched as he said, ’’Be a good girl and eat. I want to fill you up till you cannot move.’’

Esme’s blush deepened. He was talking about food, about eating yet her mind was taking her to places she had never visited before.

She was losing control again.

Hence, when he brought the pastry close to her lips, she did the first thing that her instincts told her, ’’I have a fiancee. I love him and I want to marry him,’’ her eyes fluttered close, ’’Even if you want to coax me or coerce me, the farthest you will go is my body... because my heart—’’

Her words were yet to be finished when the man pressed his lips against hers, so roughly that she winced.

A pleasure shot inside her body as the table screeched back.

Her fingers curled as he thrust his tongue inside her, biting and sucking at her lips angrily.

Her heart raced and her lips fought every shred of rationality, forcing her to move against his lips but she kept her desire at bay and restrained herself from responding to him, to his lips.

And when he felt her sitting in an unmoving stature, he bit her lips so hard that she gulped from the mix of pleasure and pain.

The man pulled back to look at her.

But this time, the tenderness and teasing intent in his eyes was long gone, replaced by a coldness she was unfamiliar with. The side of him that he had never shown her till now.

He looked at her with eyes that seemed to hold depths and she stared back at him emotionlessly.

She calmly took the pastry from his hand and placed it back on the plate, ’’If you want something from me, anything, I know I might not be powerful enough to hold you back. From everything that has happened since yesterday, it seems like it is my body that you are after. If that is it, then let it be. But don’t expect anything more—’’

’’Get off,’’ he interrupted her, his voice low.

She felt his hand dropping from her waist.

Esme glanced at his face quietly. She said those words not because she meant them. She said it because she wanted this persistent Prince far away from her.

And it seemed to be working yet she felt like the moment she stood up, the illusion will shatter and he will disappear.

And knots were forming in her stomach. The kind of knots that made her feel uneasy this time.

Such contradicting thoughts.

’’Or you don’t want to get off me?" his voice was harsh as he met her gaze.

Esme pushed herself to her feet. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Aleister stood up and stalked out of the room without looking back at her.

Esme fought the urge to chase him as the emptiness inside the room started creeping up on her.

She glanced at the table of untouched food before walking towards the bed.

She did not want any complications. Any past. Any memories. She had promised herself to look forward to her future in their Kingdom, with Jeremiah.

Not some complicated entanglement with a heavenly Prince. No.

She lay down on the bed, her long hair touching the floor. She pulled the sheets up to her neck, ’’He is just a stranger who should not affect me at all. And he does not.’’

She pulled the sheets till her head was covered. Moments later, pearls rolled down the edge of the bed, landing on the floor as water droplets crashed on the glass panes of the window at the same time.

The maids in the hallways stopped to look outside at the unusual view for the weather around the dark castle never changed before. And the heavy downpour was unexpected.

...

Cardan grabbed Luciana’s hand and pulled her into the castle when it started raining all of a sudden.

Luciana rolled her eyes, ’’Both of us could have used our powers to shield ourselves.’’

’’I forgot,’’ he looked like it genuinely slipped off his mind.

Luciana glanced at him suspiciously for a moment before a sigh spilled her lips, ’’Why is it raining suddenly?"

...

A/N: I just realized I am a big fan of a little angst in books. What about you? *smiles creepily*
