Ensnaring his Dark Moon-Chapter 321: Blessings
From the corner of his eyes, Jeremiah glanced at the King who was sitting on his throne and observing the wedding.
As their eyes met, Jeremiah smiled at the man.
Rezeph averted his gaze, not bothering to look at Jeremiah.
Elder Hall looked at the scene with complicated emotions, ’’Your Majesty, I have prepared some of the treasures that you wanted for the Princess.’’
’’Hmm?" That got Rezeph’s attention.
’’The twin moon pearls and pristine drop bracelet. I had to fight for my life to get those things.’’
’’Hmm, do you think my little fruit would be happy when she sees them?" Rezeph’s eyes twinkled.
Elder Hall pursed his lips, ’’Your Majesty...’’ Your little fruit is about to be bitten away by a pest for now, ’’...this wedding...’’
’’Since when did you start stuttering?"
’’Your Majesty, do you not intend to stop this?" Elder Hall glanced in the direction of the altar where Jeremiah was removing Esme’s veil according to the sea rituals and putting an ancestral pearl of the Norwell Family on her hair.
’’Why should I?"
Elder Hall was struck dumb by Rezeph’s easygoing response, ’’Prince Aleister is not around and this person is not how he appears to be. How can we let our Princess marry a man like that? Her life will be sullied.’’
’’She wants this,’’ Rezeph said calmly, twisting the ring on his finger.
If she wanted poison, would you let her have it? Elder Hall gulped down the urge to ask the question and phrased it more nicely, ’’But Princess is young. We thought she had her motives behind it yet now it seems she has been bewitched by this evil man and fallen for him. How can we let her walk down this path? She can never control a man like that.’’
’’Her father can,’’ Rezeph raised a brow, ’’Anything my daughter wants, she will have it. If she can’t control it, I will control it for her.’’
"_"
Elder Hall was speechless.
That’s not the right way of fathering, Your Majesty!
In all this fiasco, he felt like something was amiss. There was some air between Esme and Aleister which he had witnessed since the time he was disguised as an ordinary old man in Visteria. Their Princess was not some sort of frivolous woman so why would she marry Jeremiah?
Moreover, recently she has recovered her memories and it did not seem like she was fond of this person.
But he did not know how to explain it to the father who was so gone into his adoration that he did not want anything other than pampering his daughter.
Initially, he had thought, that either Esme or Rezeph would stop the wedding but as the rituals were done one after another without any interruption, Elder Hall realized that nobody was going to do anything.
The wedding was happening.
...
After all the rituals were done, the bride and groom were escorted back to the Crystal Castle. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Esme was taken to the bridal chamber by the maidservants who sat her in front of the huge mirror and untangled her braided hair, gently combing it in sections. Their giggles filled the delicately decorated room.
’’My Lady, you are so beautiful,’’ one of the girls whispered in awe as she caressed and decorated Esme’s scarlet hair.
Another looked at Esme’s face in the mirror, ’’Yes. My Lord will be charmed by you tonight,’’ she added in a conspiratorial whisper.
Esme glanced at her reflection in a daze and raised her hand. Her brows furrowed slightly as her fingertip touched the mirror, ’’Will he?’’
’’Undoubtedly.’’
Jeremiah who was standing at the door, felt relieved with Esme’s response. Although there was nothing to be afraid of anymore, this was not the time when he wanted to give himself away.
The longer Esme stayed in a daze, the further he would be benefitting.
She was not as obedient as he had thought. Although he did not mind himself a disobedient pet, but now was not the time to play with her. He had his whole life ahead to do it.
Jeremiah motioned his shadow guards to stand by the door, ’’Once she is done, escort her to the throne room.’’
Around fifteen minutes later, Esme was escorted to the throne room by the maidservants. Jeremiah’s guards kept an eye on her in secret.
Jeremiah held her hand, ’’Only after getting His Majesty’s blessings would we be able to go back to our wedding chamber, Es.’’
Esme glanced at him blankly, her eyelids dropping every once in a while.
She softly whispered, ’’Take blessings.’’
Jeremiah pulled her closer, ’’Yes, just the blessings. I know you are exhausted after all the rituals. Do not worry. After this, I will pick you up in my arms and carry you to our room,’’ he said with a smile. The guards standing at the door of the throne room lowered their heads at the sight of the newlyweds.
Jeremiah supported Esme as they entered the throne room.
’’Your Majesty,’’ Jeremiah curtsied to the King who was sitting high up on the sovereign’s throne, his gaze lingering on the throne a little longer.
Rezeph frowned at the sight of Jeremiah but after a moment, he gave a small nod and shifted his gaze to Esme.
Esme’s eyes fluttered close as she leaned her head against Jeremiah’s shoulder.
Jeremiah stiffened, ’’Es, I know you are tired but you cannot behave this way...’’ he said in a deliberately louder whisper to not let Rezeph have any suspicions.
But Rezeph’s frown got deeper when he heard those words.
’’You just got married to her and you are already trying to teach her how to behave. Who gave you the audacity?" Rezeph propped his forehead on his fingers.
Jeremiah curled his fingers around Esme’s elbow, grasping it harder until her skin turned pale.
Esme was jolted awake by the pain and she looked forward blankly.
’’My bad,’’ Jeremiah smiled charmingly, ’’I did not want my wife to offend you in anyway, Your Majesty. I adore her to the extent that I would not want anything untoward happening with her.’’
Elder Hall who was sitting in one of the throne chairs, held himself back from scoffing.
Your wife?
You are talking to the father of that girl you are calling your wife.
