Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 7: Only Sienna Paxton Knows He Is Allergic to Mangoes
Silas was completely stunned when he saw Chloe and Julian both had those classic alluring eyes.
Sienna had those eyes too.
Upturned at the corners, with thick lashes.
When filled with emotion, they always left him helplessly captivated.
Silas always felt that Chloe had a shadow of Sienna in her.
He thought it was his excessive longing causing such feelings.
Now, upon closer inspection, Chloe’s eyes indeed resembled Sienna’s, especially the spirit within them.
And Julian just happened to have those same beautiful eyes.
Silas couldn’t tell if this was punishment or favor from fate.
That the son he randomly picked up had eyes exactly like Sienna’s.
Even the doctor he found for his grandfather had traces of Sienna in her.
Their appearance intensified his yearning for Sienna.
Seeing Silas at the door, Julian quickly ran over.
Grabbing his hand, he led him toward Chloe.
Silas looked down at him, his voice carrying authority: "Julian, who let you run around alone? Do you know I’ve been searching for you for ages?"
Julian pouted, took out a card from his little backpack and handed it to him.
[Sorry.]
Silas tapped his head lightly.
"Next time you do this, you’ll be standing in the corner as punishment."
Julian obediently nodded and then took out another card, handing it to Chloe.
[Thank you.]
Chloe, seeing how well-behaved he was, smiled and ruffled his hair: "It’s fine, next time stay by your dad’s side, and no one will bully you."
Upon hearing this, Silas’s pupils darkened.
He looked deeply at Chloe: "Was he bullied?"
Chloe: "Someone called him a little mute, he pushed them, and the other kid’s parent got aggressive, but I happened to intervene."
Silas’s expression became cold: "Where is the person?"
"I said a few words, scared them off quickly, the two kids have reconciled, there’s no need for parents to get involved."
Chloe knew Silas’s temperament.
He might bully his own people, but no one else could lift a finger against them.
He was like that with her back then.
She was harassed by a man while out with classmates at a bar, and Silas ended up injuring the man.
Hearing her say this, Silas’s expression gradually returned to normal.
He nodded graciously toward Chloe: "Thank you."
Chloe faintly curved her lips: "Mr. Prescott, you’re too kind, I just happened to see it, I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll be going now."
She said and was about to leave.
Hadn’t taken a step yet, but her fingers were suddenly grasped tightly.
Julian held onto her hand, looking up at her, those bright black eyes blinked as if they had something to say.
Chloe crouched down, ruffled his hair and said, "Auntie’s off work, need to go home for dinner, you and your dad should head home too."
Julian shook his head, snatched the phone from Silas’s hand, his chubby little hands typing on the phone screen.
[Auntie, help me. I want to treat you to dinner.]
Seeing him typing, Chloe was very surprised.
This kid looked to be about four years old, yet he could type in English.
Seems he inherited his father’s smart genes.
Silas was a genius with an IQ of two hundred, entered a top national university’s top program at fifteen.
Became the youngest CEO of the Prescott Group at twenty-two, standing out among many Prescott Family heirs.
His son’s intelligence surely wouldn’t fall short.
Chloe shook her head with a laugh: "No, Auntie’s mom is waiting at home, you and your dad go eat."
How could she have dinner with Silas? She’s trying to avoid him.
She turned to make her escape.
But behind her, she heard a serene voice: "Dr. Nash, why are you so afraid of me? Did I ever offend you?"
The words made Chloe break out in a cold sweat behind her back.
She stopped, her expression steady, "I just don’t feel comfortable dining with strangers, besides, it was just a little favor, no need for Mr. Prescott to be so polite."
Upon hearing this, Silas looked down at Julian, speaking with deep meaning, "Did you hear that? You’re just a stranger, not qualified to join them for dinner."
Julian pouted, tears welling in his eyes as he looked at Chloe.
Like a pitiful little puppy.
Chloe felt a bit sorry watching him.
But once she thought of Silas, all her sympathy vanished.
Resolutely, she continued to leave. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
But in the next moment, she heard Silas say, "Dr. Nash, isn’t saving lives your duty? Why do you still insist on hurting a child with autism? Do you know your refusal might be a form of non-acceptance, which can greatly affect his recovery from his condition?"
Upon these words, Chloe’s heart inexplicably ached.
She knows about autism, knows how painful it is for such a young child to have it.
She initially thought this child just couldn’t speak.
Didn’t realize he was autistic.
Chloe looked at Julian with some guilt.
Struggling painfully within.
She didn’t want to hurt a child with autism, yet she also didn’t want to sit at the same table with Silas for dinner.
Chloe apologetically embraced Julian and softly said, "I’m sorry, Auntie didn’t know. I promise to have dinner with you."
Upon her permission, Julian, who seemed pitiful earlier, immediately clapped his hands excitedly.
He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
Then with a wide smile, he took her hand and led the way outside.
As if afraid Chloe might change her mind.
The two walked into a Western restaurant, Silas following behind.
As soon as they entered, they were surrounded by waiters.
"Look at this little boy, he’s so adorable, I really want to pinch his cheek."
"And do you see his mother’s appearance? With those looks, how could their child not be cute?"
"I’m going to take their order and get a closer look."
Silas heard all their comments, yet didn’t correct them, instead his face showed an insightful smile.
It was as if he had returned to five years ago, back to when Sienna was with him.
He used to bring her out for meals, their appearances also often talked about.
His Sienna was like a doll, always by his side.
He thought such a fragile doll would never leave him.
Only he hadn’t expected Sienna to leave him, and once gone, never to be found again.
Remembering this, Silas painfully pinched the bridge of his nose.
He handed the menu to Chloe: "You two can order whatever you like."
Chloe picked up the menu, ordered steak, pizza, and some snacks according to Julian’s preference, and got herself a salad.
Then told the waiter: "Please switch the mango juice in this set to watermelon juice."
Upon hearing this, Silas’s grip on the glass suddenly tightened.
His allergy to mangoes—only Sienna knew about it.
