Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode-Chapter 437: Susanoo
Chapter 437: Susanoo
The bells rang in the air, their sound reminiscent of those once heard in ancient temples on old Earth.
The chimes were serene, slow, and carried a sense of peace. But Clyde and Asqa knew better. This wasn’t a welcoming sound—it was an alarm, signaling their arrival.
"They’re ready, it seems," Asqa said, her voice calm but firm. Even knowing they were here to fight, she showed no fear. Her confidence had grown. She trusted in her strength now.
"Yes, it seems so," Clyde replied. "We attack directly. No more wasting time with words. We’re past that stage."
Asqa nodded in understanding. "Right. I’ll follow your lead."
"Blast everything. When we meet the enemy, we split up. It’ll be faster that way," Clyde said.
They were about to face a literal god. Before, Asqa might have felt fear—might have doubted herself. But not now. After all the endless battles, she believed she could handle this. No, she had to handle this. If not, she’d only fall back into being a burden to Clyde.
Clyde’s eyes glinted dangerously, and then he moved. Asqa followed closely behind.
They walked along the stone road, surrounded by towering cherry blossom trees—larger and more majestic than anything that had ever existed on Earth.
Both of them shared the same thought. The trees were breathtaking, truly beautiful. And yet, soon they would be destroyed. The thought made them just a little sad.
Soon, the path widened, leading them to a vast open road. At its end stood a massive palace of unmistakable oriental design. It was so tall, it seemed to touch the sky itself.
The ancient palace that towered above them was a monolithic structure carved from dark cedar and black stone. Its curved rooftops layered upward like steps, each tier decorated with gilded tiles and intricate carvings of dragons, lions, and celestial patterns.
Crimson banners fluttered gently in the cold wind, each bearing symbols that pulsed faintly with magical energy.
The outer walls were lined with weathered statues of warrior gods with grim and unyielding expression, watching all whoever dared to approach.
Clyde and Asqa stepped forward, their eyes locked on the palace’s enormous main gate. It was closed. Its towering, silent, and ominous, but the atmosphere told them that something was already moving.
Then, without warning, the sky above them moved.
Clouds of silver mist parted and from within descended a formation of soldiers. Dozens of them.
They wore traditional armor: lacquered black plates adorned with crimson trim and golden sigils, their helmets crowned with antler-like crests or horned visors. Some had flowing sashes trailing behind them in the air.
They didn’t descend like mortals. They flew, gliding soundlessly through the sky then landing so precise it barely disturbed the ground.
The stone beneath their feet cracked only slightly as their boots touched down.
Each of them held a long polearm or curved blade, the weapons etched with glowing runes and symbols of the Celestials they served.
Their presence exuded discipline, power, and readiness to die where they stood.
Clyde and Asqa stopped.
The soldiers didn’t speak.
Their silence was a declaration. This was the final warning before they start to attack.
The air grew heavier.
The wind that had been still began to stir, swirling around the battlefield.
The soldiers who had landed did not move. Their heads tilted upward—toward the sky—as if awaiting something.
And then, the sky opened.
The clouds tore apart like paper, and from the rift of light stepped forth a towering figure.
He did not descend slowly—he simply appeared, as if the world itself bent to let him pass through.
It was Susanoo. The god of storms, sea, and wrath.
He stood in the sky above the palace, his presence vast and imposing. His hair flowed like waves—dark and streaked with electric blue, crackling faintly with magic power.
His armor gleamed with ancient metal that shimmered like wet steel beneath lightning. In his hand he carried a massive blade — the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi — its edge wide and jagged like a thunderclap frozen in a form of a blade.
His face was carved in fury and judgment. Not the rage of blind chaos but the fury of a warrior-god defending his domain.
His golden eyes burned like twin suns, locked onto the two figures standing at the palace gate.
He knew why they had come and he was ready to answer.
Clyde narrowed his eyes, lips parting just slightly as he stared back at the god of storms.
The divine pressure pouring down from Susanoo was intense and heavy enough that any lesser being would have dropped to their knees.
But Clyde didn’t flinch.
Beside him, Asqa gripped her wand tighter. Her heartbeat quickened but her stance remained steady.
She stared into the sky, into the eyes of a Celestial, and did not turn away.
For a long moment, neither side moved.
Then, the storm above began to rumble. Thunder cracked across the sky. Susanoo raised his blade toward them.
"Kill them."
Susanoo’s voice echoed across the sky, not in words, but in sheer magical intent. With a single, sharp motion of his blade, he commanded his warriors forward.
The air exploded with motion.
The soldiers charged, launching from the ground and sky with inhuman speed, weapons drawn and glowing with magic power.
But Asqa was already moving.
She raised her wand high, her fingers twisting through the air in a blur of motion.
In the blink of an eye a massive fireball — ten meters across — flared to life above her.
She thrust her wand forward.
The fireball screamed across the battlefield. It struck the front lines of the advancing soldiers, erupting into a towering blast.
The blast sent shockwaves rippling through the ground and air, scattering bodies and igniting the stone beneath them.
"I can handle them," Asqa said, her voice calm. Her eyes didn’t leave the soldiers already charging through the flames, undeterred by loss or fear.
Clyde nodded once.
"Okay."
Without another word, he launched into the sky Wind and energy rippled around him as he rose higher and higher, straight toward the Celestial who hovered above.
Susanoo waiting for him. His storm-colored cloak billowing behind him.
