Chapter 36: Information

Although Hazel found it weird that Instructor Rina didn’t mention Kaiser, she didn’t say anything and kept her thoughts to herself.

"I’m curious, Hazel." The instructor leaned forward, her chest pressed against the table. "How did you get the school rules?"

Hazel didn’t immediately reply, her gaze fixed on her instructor’s bosom. Even as a girl, she felt startled by such a large size. Even Alisa, who had the largest bust size in Class-E, wouldn’t be able to compare.

"Hazel?"

Seeing that the girl was distracted, Instructor Rina frowned and called her name. The girl blinked, then looked away.

"We bought it from someone."

Rina’s brows furrowed instantly. "We? Do you mean the whole class?"

Hazel nodded, her expression composed.

Initially, Rina had thought that Hazel procured the school rules by herself. However, she was shocked to realize that her class had bought it. When did they become so smart?

"You bought it, huh? From who did you buy it, and how much did you pay?"

Although Hazel was perplexed by the questions, she answered calmly. "I don’t know who exactly. Liam was messaged by someone, claiming they could sell him the school rules. Then, we bought it for 900,000 credits."

Rina’s eyes widened subtly. ’900,000? Damn! That’s almost half of all the credits I’ve gathered over the years!’

Her eyes sharpened, realizing it wasn’t her class who had actively procured the information. Instead, it had been offered to them.

"And did Liam know who messaged him?"

Hazel shook her head. "No. The account was newly created without any bio-data."

Rina sighed, then rubbed her temples. This was the first time school rules had been sold for an exorbitant price. For all she knew, the older students always got it just by bribing their own upperclassmen who were short in credits.

However, Vice-President Eren of the second-year had banned this in all five second-year classes. As for the third-years, they didn’t even have time to concern themselves since it was their last year in the academy, and competition between them would be fierce.

"Alright. You should look into the person’s identity. Try contacting them or something. It might be a first-year. If you need anything else, you can let me know."

Hazel nodded quietly, her thoughts unknown, then left the office.

Leaning against the table, Rina sighed, then looked at the crumpled paper on the table. Even though it was crumpled, Kaiser’s name remained untouched. Staring at that name, Rina’s lips parted slightly.

’Kaiser...’

...

Meanwhile, Kaiser was getting increasingly annoyed by Ysabella’s persistent nature. Even though he said a few harsh words to chase her off, she only laughed and continued talking. Finally, it seemed she was about to lay down her real intentions of meeting him.

She propped her elbows against the table, holding her cheeks between her palms. Her arms ’unintentionally’ squeezed her chest, making that part more prominent.

Kaiser gave it a dry glance, then resumed eating.

"I’ve been wanting to ask, Kaiser. How close are you with Hazel and Mordica?"

He paused, then looked at her. "How close? Not much, we rarely talk."

Ysabella’s eyes glinted. "Eh? You guys even talk, that’s a surprise. You probably don’t know, but those two don’t talk to anyone in the class, especially Mordica."

Kaiser shrugged. "So? I don’t see anything special in that."

The blonde girl giggled, her eyes glittering. "It is! It means that they’re willing to talk to you. Even if it’s only just a few words."

She leaned closer, her voice softening into a whisper.

"Perhaps, they’re attracted by Kaiser’s looks and have developed a crush on you."

Kaiser almost choked on his food, then gave her an unimpressed look. Crushing on him? He was very aware that Hazel disliked him, while Mordica only seemed slightly interested. Both girls didn’t even look like girls who would fall in love.

’More like feminine logs of wood...’

He wiped his lips with a tissue, then shook his head.

"Don’t jump to unimaginable conclusions, Ysabella."

Leaning back with a mischievous grin, the girl laughed softly. "Hahaha! I was just joking. However, Kaiser is indeed handsome. If I want to choose a boyfriend in the future, you’ll definitely be part of my options."

She said this with a blush on her cheeks, as if making a shy confession. If it were any other boy, he’d have been starstruck by her dazzling charm.

However, this was Kaiser. "Is that so? However, aren’t you being too cocky?"

"Eh? Cocky?" Ysabella gasped, genuinely surprised. She hadn’t expected this kind of answer.

"Yes, cocky. You used the word ’choose’. Do you think there would be a line of boys waiting to date you?"

Hearing his blunt remark, Ysabella became displeased, though she didn’t show it.

’Tch. This guy... what the fuck is wrong with him?! Nitpicking at everything I say, hmph!’

Still, she managed to present an embarrassed smile. Scratching her head cutely, she answered.

"W-well, I always want to be able to pick my own boyfriend personally. I’ve never dated in the past, so..."

She tactically chose to reveal another of her secret, hoping he’d be surprised.

Although Kaiser was indeed surprised that she hadn’t dated before, he didn’t show it. Instead, he hummed softly. "I understand."

Shaking her head, Ysabella decided to move to the crux of the conversation.

"Um, I want to ask... can you help me get closer to Hazel and Mordica?"

Her eyelashes fluttered softly, as she cast a pleading look towards him. Once again, Kaiser dispelled her expectations with a shake of his head.

"No." He said, "If you can’t get close to them yourself, don’t force it. Else, you might risk being hated."

Giving her that warning, he stood up and left the cafeteria.

Ysabella remained seated, her head hung low. Covered by her bangs, her expression was dark.

’Damn you! Who cares about your stupid advice?! Even after being cute and calling you handsome, you refuse to budge! Ahhhh! I wanna kill you!’

She took in deep breaths, trying to calm herself. She was still in the public, and couldn’t allow herself to be seen with a dark expression. Slowly, a smile appeared on her face.

’Fine, you win today. However, don’t think I’m letting you go. I’ll make you fall for me, then torture you until you can only scream for my name...’

Immersed in her wild, indecent thoughts, she failed to notice that someone had come back. Watching as she giggled to herself with malicious intent in her eyes, Kaiser dropped the cup of vanilla ice cream on the table. The sound startled her, and she immediately looked up in shock.

"Stop being so eerie. Here’s an ice cream to calm your nerves."

Saying that with a neutral face, he turned and walked away.

Staring blankly at the ice cream, Ysabella could only make a single sound.

"Eh?"
