Even If I'm Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem-Chapter 67Book 6: : Something New
“Really?” The monster girl raised her beautiful eyebrows. “I accept that as a compliment!”
She stretched her lithe body, swished her graceful tail, and swam around the reef. If one could overlook the surrounding darkness and the hellish cracks across her skin, the scene might have appeared breathtakingly beautiful.
“It’s definitely not that I’ve become smarter, but…” She looked down at her hands. The darkness around her did not feel cold or frightening; it felt warm instead, like sunlight on her skin. “This makes me feel… relaxed. It’s almost like… this is who I was meant to be.”
“Hmm… So I really did release a monster with my own hands. And your rotten personality is thanks to some newfound power you’ve never had before, huh?” Li Desheng smiled bitterly.
“What are you talking about?” The monster tilted her head and stared at him, her wide eyes full of innocent confusion.
“‘Tis but my true nature, isn’t it?”
She was right.
Her terrible personality and her instinct to toy with others had always been part of the girl named Lilith. It was simply buried, pushed deep into her heart by the events of recent times.
Now, it has resurfaced.
“So…” The monster grinned, watching as Li Desheng’s expression grew more stiff. “Come on, old friend. Play with me again. I haven’t felt this alive in ages!”
“Tsk.” Li Desheng clicked his tongue in annoyance, then suddenly pulled out the golden spatula he had been hiding and swung it hard at the monster before him.
“Who the hell wants to play with you, monster? I only like girls with long legs, big boobs, and a perky a̲s̲s̲, okay?!”
The water was disturbed. Golden light crackled like thunder across the dark seabed. Under the power of authority, the ocean floor began to collapse.
A tremendous roar burst out as countless bubbles surged upward like boiling water. Sediment and silt that had lain undisturbed for millennia were hurled into the currents.
Scorching heat erupted from beneath shifting tectonic plates.
An earthquake!
Li Desheng brandished the spatula again like a solemn conductor wielding his baton in Vienna’s Golden Hall, conducting a deadly symphony.
The chaotic energy of the quake twisted and bent under his command, defying the laws of physics and converging toward the mermaid.
She was still swaying her tail gleefully, seemingly unaware that the world was ending around her.
*SMACK!*
Faced with a force as overwhelming as an avalanche, the mermaid was crushed like an insect. Her body was pulped by the impact and swept away by a sudden eruption of molten lava.
Not even a single trace was left behind.
But Li Desheng did not lower his guard for even a moment. He knew all too well that his attacks had been meaningless… He might have destroyed a monster, but there were likely countless others still waiting in the dark.
“Then why do you keep attacking?” The monster reappeared as if reading his thoughts, tilting her head in curiosity. “Isn’t it pointless?”
“Hmph.” Li Desheng sneered. “If our positions were reversed, would you just give up?”
“Probably…” The monster gave it some thought before completing her sentence, “…Not. Great minds think alike, my old friend!” she exclaimed.
Li Desheng gritted his teeth, forcing his already-drained body to channel more divine power. The golden light of the spatula was dimming, but he still raised it high and swung it toward the monster’s head.
*CLANG!*
But this time, something unexpected happened. The monster had casually pulled out a shiny… frying pan and blocked the strike.
The moment the spatula collided with it, there was no surge of authority—just the harsh, metallic clash of an ordinary golden spatula and a crystal frying pan.
“Since you have a spatula, there’s got to be a pan to match, right?” the monster said with a laugh as she swung the pan playfully.
There was nothing unusual about it—no divine fluctuations, no power of authority. It looked like a simple, translucent frying pan made of crystal. Yet, its appearance still sent a chill down Li Desheng’s spine. His face darkened.
Dragon Eater’s Core Ability #2: Black crystal that could defend against anything. It was even more terrifying than the black liquid that could imitate anything. In fact, this ability was one of the main reasons Dragon Eater had torn through the Great World unchallenged, even when beset by legions of powerful enemies.
No power of authority could work against it.
No attack could penetrate it.
No force could move it.
It was truly an “absolute” defense.
It was said that even the Dragon Queen, the only being who could stand toe-to-toe with the Dragon Eater, had failed to breach the defenses of the black crystal.
“Is it really necessary to use such terrifying power against a small fry like me?” the poor little corporate slave asked in dismay.
“You leave me with no choice,” the monster replied, casually swinging the frying pan. She chuckled. “I’m bored with the spatula. If you don’t come up with something new, I’ll die of boredom.”
“Something new, huh!” Li Desheng gritted his teeth and stomped the ground. “Fine—let’s do it!” He raised his hand toward the ocean’s surface and shouted, “Everyone… lend me some of your strength!”
Between the dark dome above and the sea, the “cannon fodder” locked in desperate struggle with countless monster girls froze when they heard the voice.
As if waiting for this exact cue, they reached into their chests, clutched their still-beating hearts, and squeezed hard!
Blood splattered everywhere.
The monsters around them stared in stunned disbelief as warm divine blood gushed from bodies that were slowly losing heat.
Guided by the final remnants of their consciousness, it surged toward the one who had called out to them.
Before the leader of this operation—an exhausted corporate slave who had endured a full decade of unpaid overtime—it all condensed into a single crystalline droplet of blood.
Looking at the blood droplet that held the lives of over a thousand people, the disheartened corporate slave sighed.
“Seriously? I only asked for some of your strength… Y’all didn’t need to go that far. If I fail, I won’t be able to face all of you.”
With a deep breath, he seized the droplet, tilted his head back, and swallowed it in one gulp without any hesitation.
Boundless heat soon rose from his core.
“Come take this!” He opened his mouth wide, unleashing a radiant light. The overwhelming power nearly tore his body apart. The searing heat instantly consumed his meridians.
Had it not been for the golden glow from the nearby spatula stabilizing his divine form, he would have exploded like an overinflated balloon.
But this final surge of strength was bought with the lives of his comrades… He could not let it go to waste!
“Super… Vital Qi… Magic Piercing… Qigong… Explosive… Makabaka… I-can’t-think-of-anything-else Cannon!”
With both hands pressed together, Li Desheng unleashed a blinding beam of destruction!
