Chapter 334: Meeting the Demon God

The structure of space was complicated. In the simplest of terms, it was divided into many different layers, one stronger than the other.

Depending on the level of the world and the environment itself, breaking through those layers could be both easy and difficult.

For example, Liora could tear apart space in the world of Knights and use it to teleport.

On the other hand, she was unable to cause the slightest fluctuation in the space of the Demon World, and that held true even in her current state.

Only with the use of abilities such as Null Step could she make use of the power of space. Otherwise, she currently had no way of getting into contact with such a high-level power.

Fortunately, the space of the demi-plane was far weaker than that of the Demon World.

It allowed Liora to more easily travel through it, but most importantly, it allowed her consciousness to reach into its deepest layers.

As Liora struck a Weapon Master from afar and landed on a seemingly empty plot of land, she continued tracking that voice.

Her consciousness moved and investigated her surroundings, searching for its owner.

The more she searched and the closer she got to locating them, the louder the voice in her mind became, until finally, her consciousness spotted a small gap in one of the space’s deepest layers.

The moment she saw it, the veil separating them vanished.

"Outsider, you’ve finally come...", a young male voice echoed in Liora’s ears, and their close proximity made the intervention of space almost nonexistent.

Liora did not greet the man back.

Ignoring his words, she asked a question of her own:

"How should I call you?"

Her rudeness did not displease the owner of the voice. As if he had predicted such a question, he swiftly responded with an expected yet also unexpected answer:

"The people of this world used to call me Demon God in the past. If you wish to, you can also refer to me as such..."

Liora noticed that the tone of the voice was quite polite. Although he revealed such a shocking piece of information, he didn’t show much pride, nor did he display any arrogance.

"Why did you summon me here? What’s the deal you wish to talk about?", Liora jumped straight to the topic, having already roughly understood the predicament of the Demon God.

And the Demon God obviously knew that this would happen. As such, he didn’t speak any nonsense and went straight to the topic:

"As you can see, I’m currently trapped in this place. In fact, the whole demi-plane exists solely to seal me."

"Those guys from the Divine Clans like to call this place Demon God’s Cemetery, but in my opinion, it would be more accurate to call it Demon God’s Prison.", the Demon God chuckled, showing no anger at having been imprisoned for thousands of years.

Ignoring Liora’s doubts, he continued:

"During the war back then, the Clan Heads of the nine Divine Clans banded together, shattered my body, and built this seal to imprison my soul."

"Although thousands of years have passed and the seal has weakened significantly, I’m still unable to break free due to my current weakness."

"That’s why I summoned you."

"I can sense that you possess a power that can help me break out of the seal. I might be rash, but I don’t want to miss such an opportunity."

The Demon God’s explanation did not last for long, but it contained very valuable information. Some of it was stated explicitly, while some of it was implied.

Perhaps the most important information of the latter kind was that this guy possessed a method to monitor the Demon God’s Cemetery.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have spoken so casually, mentioning the ancient war and the Divine Clans, as if he were certain that Liora already knew about these secret events.

In fact, Liora strongly doubted that this person had noticed her existence since her arrival in the demi-plane.

It was not a coincidence that he summoned her here the moment she completed her transformation.

Still, although Liora guessed all of the above, she did not specifically point them out.

Her focus instead shifted to the latter part of his speech, and more specifically, to the power that could help him break out of the seal.

She didn’t feign ignorance. Her mind moved, and several different energies and powers emerged from her body.

Her demonic energy, the Indestructible Matter, the power of her Manifestation, and even the power of Nothingness.

A hodgepodge of powers emerged from Liora’s body, powers that would have caused anyone seeing them to be stunned.

After all, each of these powers was enough to create a powerful individual.

It was a truly shocking phenomenon that all of these had now gathered on a single individual.

Fortunately, the Demon God was a native of the Demon Weapon World and had never ventured out of it. Thus, he did not fully understand Liora’s monstrosity.

Suppressing his astonishment, his consciousness reached out from inside the seal and inspected the different powers.

At first, his consciousness did not have any reaction and exuded some disappointment.

However, when it reached the final one, the power of Nothingness, the consciousness of the Demon God suddenly trembled.

"This is it.", his voice rang in Liora’s mind, and although she could not see his face, she could already imagine his excited expression just based on his tone.

However, Liora did not care.

Ignoring his enthusiasm, she took back her powers and pushed his consciousness back into the seal.

Then, as if nothing had happened, she resumed the earlier conversation.

"Since you chose to summon me, you should have an idea regarding my character and goals. If you wish to get my help, you should show something of similar value.", she said coldly, similarly not afraid that her words would offend the Demon God.

The Demon God did not rush to reply. It was only a few seconds later that he finally answered:

"I’ve consumed most of the resources I carried with me in order to retain my vitality while sealed. At present, only a few items remain. I’m willing to use one of them to trade with you.", he said.

"First of all, I happened to collect some of the Divine Weapons that were shattered during the ancient war. Although they are not too precious individually, altogether, they should be able to help you and your umbrella advance to the Demon Sovereign realm."

Saying this, the Demon God hesitated for a few moments. Then, gritting his teeth as if he had made a difficult decision, he gave a second offer:

"The only other item I have on me is this.", he spoke, and the space before Liora cracked.

From the crack, a transparent droplet of liquid flew out.

It was beautiful, half real and half illusory, seemingly containing scenes of the past and the future.

As Liora’s eyes reflected this item’s outline, a term couldn’t help but emerge in her mind.

"A Wisp of Time?", she muttered subconsciously.

"Huh?", an exclamation came from within the seal:

"You recognize this? If that’s the case, things will be far easier. Since you recognize it, you should understand its value."

"A Wisp of Time, or more commonly known as a drop from the River of Time. It is one of the few items related to the power of time."

"By consuming it, one can ’return’ their state to the past. No matter whether they are injured or are affected by negative effects, consuming a Wisp of Time can help them ’jump’ back to their unaffected state."

Hearing his words, Liora nodded solemnly.

Although she understood that the Demon God was trying to highlight the value of the Wisp of Time to reach an agreement, she also knew that he was not necessarily lying.

In fact, the Demon God might have even underestimated the value of the Wisp of Time.

The power of time was a high-level power that very few people could come into contact with, similar to the power of space.

Even compared to the power of Nothingness, time was not weaker in the slightest.

Something like the Wisp of Time would be extremely precious even in a place like the Demon World.

Upon seeing it, Liora immediately had the urge to agree to the Demon God’s proposal and choose the Wisp of Time as part of the deal.

But recalling the ease with which the Demon God took this item out, she quickly restrained that impulse.

Disregarding the Demon God’s previous words of having to choose one of them, she gave an offer of her own:

"The power of Nothingness is extremely important to me, and it requires great efforts to condense it.", she shook her head.

"For it to be worthwhile, these are not enough. You at least have to give me enough materials to reach the peak of the Demon Sovereign realm, as well as one hundred Wisps of Time."

"Only then will I agree to help you break the seal."
