I looked at him, his eyes were still peeled on me like he was planning on staring a whole through me.

["What? Whats going on?! Talk to me Reno!"]

I cleared my throat as I stared at back a him, his face slowly transitioning into a grim stare of death.

Thud, thud, thud, thud.

My pulse pounded aggressively against the walls of their vessels as fear began to creep in from the back of my neck.

Golden Guardian wants to kill me!.

"Jake, Jake... What do I do?", I whispered with panic.

["Do about what?"]

"Golden Guardian, he wants to attack me..."

["He what!?? Why would he do that!"]

"Jake I’m telling you he wants to attack me, what the fuck do I do... "

The intensity of the Compass Needle notification intensified as The Forever Core’s system picked out his muscles tensing up to pounce on me.

"He’s gonna attack me!!!"

"Argghhh!", Golden Guardian groaned and then all parts of his eyes turned to pure gold.

With a burst of blinding energy, a hot, piercing gold energy ray shot out of his eyes making its way towards me with crazy speed.

It was fast, faster than anything I have ever come against in my entire life.

I tried reacting to evade it but I just couldn’t, I would most definitely say it was way faster than the blink of an eye.

To make matters worse, he didn’t aim his golden death ray at my body or torso, he aimed it directly at my head.

This guy wanted to take me out with one successful hit.

If that’s not a sign of killing intent, I don’t know what is.

I couldn’t bend, twist, curve or turn my body fast enough to dodge the trajectory of the ray. But, luckily I could raise my right hand a fast enough so that one half of the ray hit my hand and the other unfortunately whistled past my ear.

"Argghhh-hhhhhhhhh!", I yelled out in pain as I dropped to the floor. The force of the ray wasn’t the type to push or explode me away, it was piercing.

And I quickly found that out when I looked at my right hand and found a gapping hole right through my palm.

I looked down and the image struck fear into the core of my chest.

My right ear has been lasered off my head.

It lay there on the floor, lifeless and bloodied all over.

"Argh!!", I let out another agonizing scream of pain.

I looked at him, he stood there, proud and mighty with an almost evil grin on his face.

"What are you doing?..." I asked with a faint, strained voice.

"I’m just testing your limits..."

It started with the hole in my hand, it closed up slowly. The blood vessels, ligaments and tendons rejoined and then the skin covered up the inner layers of the skin making it good as new.

Then, the Forever Armor replenished itself, shielding my exposed hand.

"Ohhhh!..."

Golden Guardian jerked backwards a little bit as he watched my ear grow back into a new, fully functional organ.

He was stunned, "Thats a really broken skill of you ask me...".

"Now I see what you meant when you said, ’Adapt’."

He stiffened his muscles and dropped into a combat pose, his glare scary and evil to a fault.

"Looks like I’ll just have to push you a bit further huh?..."

I grimaced immediately upon realizing the level of threat I was dealing with now, he wasn’t joking around. He really wanted to do significant damage to me.

I swiftly got up from my knees and—

Whoooooshhhh!

It was too late, Golden Guardian had already closed the gap between the both of us before the Forever Pikes fully deployed.

’Huh! He’s fast!’

The pikes were still in the air making their way to the ground around me so that they could implement the domain.

He literally swooshed into close proximity with me and one by one he punched all four pikes into different directions, scattering them all over the place.

Thus, the domain wasn’t successful.

"What does these do!??" He asked.

Then—

Pow!

A hard punch landed squarely across my face.

My vision spun. My head jerked sideways as I staggered back, blood spraying from my mouth.

My feet barely found balance before another punch crashed into my torso, folding me like a paper.

Crack!

A rib snapped. Maybe two or more. I couldn’t count. This guy was striking right through the protection of the Forever Armor, and here I was thinking it was impervious. It just hadn’t been hit with something it couldn’t adapt to— yet.

Golden Guardian’s shadow loomed over me, his body shielding the sun’s rays so that all o could see was a hulking silhouette of shadow.

"You’re durable," he muttered, clenching his fist tighter. "But you’re not nearly fast enough."

He flung his arm again, his bicep slicing through the air like a hot knife through butter.

Wham!.

His fist struck the side of my head.

I flew.

I literally flew across the empty seaport space, my body tumbling like a ragdoll. I came to an aggressive stop when my body hit a stack of shipping containers hard, cratering it in the shape of my back.

I coughed. Blood dripped from my lips.

"What the actual fuck..." I hissed, dragging myself out of the cracked wall. My legs trembled. My lungs were on fire but soon cooled down as the healing kicked in.

I gritted my teeth, eyes blazing.

I swept my arm swiftly and commanded two of the scattered pikes to shoot towards Golden Guardian like missiles.

"Incinerate!..."

Boom!

Both pikes shot out my signature golden energy from their openings at each other and they exploded right around him.

He wasn’t expecting it... More like he just eat he’d it happen.

The first explosion smashed into his side, knocking him a few feet back, while the second pierced through the ground beneath him and detonated, sending a pillar of smoke and dust.

"Accelerate!!!"

I dashed through the smoke, spinning into a punch of my own.

My fist connected with his jaw.

It was like punching a meteor, but I saw his head twist slightly from the impact.

"Hahaha..." He laughed mockingly. "Not bad" he muttered as the dust cleared. "But not enough!".

His hand shot forward and grabbed me by the neck.
