Chapter 38: Gains

[You have killed a 1st Origin Bronze Class Frost Bear.]

[Would you like to collect the loot?]

And several messages flashed before his eyes, but he had no time to read them for now.

ROAARRR

Enraged roars of the other five sounded. They looked around and soon noticed the domain’s shape through the fog.

All five of them charged forward, and their figures finally became visible.

The sight shocked Neil, as he paused momentarily before shooting out another arrow.

Their body structure was similar to that of a bear, but there was no fur. Instead, a thick mass of skin covered their bodies.

The sight looked ugly, almost as if the skin had been sewn separately, layer over layer.

BANG BANG

The five monsters moved rather quickly in the snow despite their small feet, and began to hit the wall.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH

Three arrows quickly cleaved through the heads of three more beasts, instantly their bodies falling into the snow.

KRIIEEEEEE

The two vultures shot down towards the remaining beasts and struck their heads, almost making them explode.

Finally, all eight of them were dead.

Neil released a long breath he had held unknowingly. Facing such creatures, his experience was still too little.

"Bring their corpses inside." Neil ordered as the vultures quickly picked up the corpses and dropped them inside the domain.

"Let’s continue, you two keep scouting the area ahead." He said before turning towards the eight corpses.

This was easy, but he was sure, as they moved further, the challenge would only keep increasing.

’I will kill any that comes my way, I need to get stronger fast.’ He thought, and mumbled:

"Extract loot."

[Extracting loot]

[You have acquired one 1st Origin Bronze Class Gene Point!]

[You have acquired one 1st Origin Bronze Class Gene Point!]

[You have acquired one 1st Origin Bronze Class Gene Point!]

...

[You have acquired 30 Shards.]

[You have acquired 30 Shards.]

[You have acquired 30 Shards.]

...

Instantly, several bottles of milky fluid appeared before Neil, along with the gene points. He had now obtained a total of 240 Shards.

Without wasting any time, he consumed all the gene points, instantly feeling his strength increasing a little.

[Shards: 240]

(Bronze): 84/1000

(Silver): 35/500

(Gold): 5/100

(Diamond): 1/5

(Mythic): 1/2

"Still too few, I need more!!" Neil sighed, and then the domain began to speed up.

Looking at the bow in his hand, Neil felt that although using it, he could safely kill those creatures.

But it would not help him grow at all. He needed to get used to it and adjust his senses to react in any situation.

Now that the beasts they were encountering were weaker, this was the best chance.

So after slight contemplation, he handed the bow to Nemo, and ordered: "When I fight from now on, you are only to support me unless I ask or am in danger."

"I understand, master, leave it to me." The guard picked up the bow and sat beside Magnar.

"Both of you as well, don’t kill unless I say otherwise." Neil instructed, and the elves nodded.

Then he put on the red coat he got after killing that magma bima, which was at the mythic class.

And the two short swords which he obtained after killing that bug.

The vultures resumed their scouting task.

After moving for a while, Nemo’s hurried voice sounded.

"Master, I finally managed to contact a survivor in this realm!!"

"Oh! Tell me more about it." He said, hoping to obtain some useful information.

Instantly, a display appeared in front of Neil, where the global chat was opened.

Then it automatically moved to the personal message of a lord named Hiroshima.

"He said he is with other survivors, and there are more than a thousand of them here together." Nemo spoke excitedly.

Neil also read the conversation. After knowing that he was also stuck in this place, the other person asked about his whereabouts.

Nemo gave his starting location, near the endless sea and in the middle of hot and cold regions.

The other person instantly asked him to abandon his territory and move towards iron bars.

Somewhere far ahead, they were at a distance of nearly a kilometre from the hot side.

Hiroshima also warned not to go too far on the colder side. Two kilometres from the mid line was the limit.

Or the temperature would be so low that he would freeze to death, and deadly beasts were present there.

"So if we keep proceeding and maintain around that distance, we can find them?" Neil mumbled, but they were more than a couple hundred kilometres away from his location.

It would take a while before he could reach them.

The connection was weak, so long communication was not really possible.

"There is no change, we will proceed according to our initial plans." Right as he commanded, Neil wondered why they had moved so far away from the hot side.

Wouldn’t it be better to stay a bit close to it? The cold would increase more if they stayed so far.

For now, he decided to just move forward. He would create distance from the hot region later on.

"Tell him, we will be there soon." Neil said and observed the surroundings with the two short swords in his hands.

Bob and Rob were still busy setting up a few things.

...

For at least a kilometre, they did not come across any beast, but suddenly the two vultures came down to give their reports.

"There is a fight going on ahead? What’s the situation? How many beasts are there?" he asked quickly, while slowing down the domain.

It seemed a battle had broken out between the Frost Beasts and hot region beasts, at least twenty beasts clashing.

"Any 2nd Origin?" he asked grimly. So this was why they stayed away from the hot region.

To not attract beasts from both sides.

KIIEE KIRRR

The vultures spoke quickly.

"Haa, then it’s fine." Neil smiled, the situation was not as bad as he expected.

He stopped the domain far enough to not let the fighting beasts notice him, and then gave everyone some instructions.

After which, while holding the two swords, he silently walked out of the domain.

According to the information, the strongest among them were at the rank of 1st Origin Silver Class.

The snow perfectly silenced his movement noises as he moved forward. The clothes from the Workshop were truly magical.

He did not feel cold at all, and he had especially instructed the clothes’ colour to be white.

So it could also provide some degree of camouflage.

After moving a dozen metres, he could hear the battle noises, as the beasts wildly attacked one another.

He moved a bit more and soon saw the bloody scene clearly. The snow was covered with blood and corpses.

At least eight of them were already dead. Against the Frost Bears were beasts resembling large centipedes.

Their blackish red hard scales were covered with thin lines of lava, each possessing a length of at least six feet.

Their countless legs moved in a strange, disgusting manner, providing high agility.

The sight of them was equally frightening as the skinless frost bears.

Right now, the two sides were engaged in a fierce battle.

The Scoria Centipedes were extremely aggressive and seemed to possess a special burning poison.

One bite from them was enough to drag those frost bears to death.
