Exiled!? Ha! I have An Infinite Space-Chapter 70 -
The moment my finger touched the glowing button—
Ding.
A new line appeared.
[ Daily Check-In – Day 1 Completed ]
Another window opened.
[ Reward: 10 Bottles of Purified Water ]
My eyes widened slightly.
"...Purified water?"
That was perfect for the journey.
Before I could think further, the system spoke again.
[ Reward has been placed in Host Inventory. ]
I nodded slowly.
"Not bad."
Without wasting time, I pressed the next button.
Ding.
[ Daily Check-In – Day 2 Completed ]
A new reward appeared.
[ Reward: 1 Bag of White Flour (10 Jin) ]
I raised my brows.
Flour?
That meant buns... pancakes... noodles...
That was much better than dry rations.
"Okay... this system isn’t completely useless."
I tapped the third check-in.
Ding.
[ Daily Check-In – Day 3 Completed ]
Another reward popped up.
[ Reward: 1 Box of Mixed Seeds ]
(Corn, Potatoes, Cabbage, and Beans)
My eyes lit up.
Seeds were extremely valuable.
If they ever settled somewhere, they could grow their own food.
Now that was a long-term reward.
"Nice..." I muttered.
I quickly pressed the final button.
Ding.
[ Daily Check-In – Day 4 Completed ]
The last reward appeared.
[ Reward: 1 Portable Water Filter ]
I froze for a second.
Then slowly turned my head toward the small river Fu Fei had pointed at earlier.
"...A water filter?"
A small smile appeared on my face.
That timing was almost suspicious.
Kiwi’s cheerful voice sounded again.
[ Congratulations Host. All 4 Daily Rewards have been claimed. ]
I crossed my arms.
"Not bad," I admitted.
Then I narrowed my eyes at the screen.
"So you froze the entire world just to remind me to check in?"
The system paused.
Another message appeared.
[ Time Freeze will end in 10 seconds. ]
A countdown appeared.
10...
I sighed.
"Alright."
9... 8... 7...
I quickly checked my inventory.
Everything was already placed neatly inside.
Good.
6... 5... 4...
3... 2... 1...
The blue screen disappeared.
And suddenly—
The world started moving again.
Fu Teng groaned loudly.
"My legs are gone!"
Fu Tong laughed beside him.
Fu Fei was still looking toward the river, it was like nothing had happened.
I quietly sat back down as I glanced toward the river again.
This time, I smiled.
Maybe getting water there wouldn’t be such a bad idea after all.
I stood up slowly and dusted my hands.
"Fu Fei," I called.
She turned to look at me.
"Yes, sister-in-law?"
I pointed toward the small river she had seen earlier.
"Let’s go check the water."
Her eyes brightened a little.
"You changed your mind?"
I gave a small shrug. "We can at least look."
Fu Fei immediately stood up.
"I’ll come with you."
Fu Li looked like she wanted to follow too, but Fu Tong spoke first.
"Bring water for me," he said lazily from the ground.
Fu Teng groaned beside him. "And for me too... I think my soul is leaving my body."
Fu Fei rolled her eyes.
"You two are useless."
She picked up two empty water bottles and handed one to me.
"Let’s go."
We walked away from the others toward the river. The ground there was softer and cooler, and the sound of flowing water slowly grew clearer.
The river was small but clean looking. Sunlight reflected on the surface and the water moved gently over smooth stones.
Fu Fei knelt down beside it.
"It looks clear," she said.
I crouched beside her.
"Yes... but clear water is not always safe."
She looked at me again, curious.
"Then what should we do?"
I reached into my sleeve.
Of course, what I was really doing was taking the water filter from my space.
A small metal tube appeared in my hand.
Fu Fei blinked.
"What is that?"
"A filter," I said simply.
She tilted her head. "A filter?"
"It helps clean the water."
I dipped the bottom part of it into the river and slowly filled the bottle through it.
The water flowed through the small filter before entering the bottle.
Fu Fei watched closely.
"So it removes the dirty things?"
"Yes."
She looked impressed.
"That’s very useful."
Soon the first bottle was full.
I handed it to her.
"Here."
Fu Fei took a small sip first. After a moment she nodded.
"It tastes fine."
We filled the second bottle, then a third.
The cool sound of water flowing made the moment peaceful.
For the first time since morning, everything felt quiet.
Fu Fei sighed softly.
"I didn’t think exile would start like this."
I glanced at her.
"How did you think it would start?"
She smiled weakly.
"I thought I would cry the whole time."
I laughed a little.
"But you didn’t."
She shook her head.
"No."
Then she looked toward the road where the others were resting.
"As long as the family is together... I think we will manage."
For a moment I didn’t speak.
Then I nodded.
"Yes."
We filled a few more bottles before standing up again.
"Let’s go back," I said.
Fu Fei lifted the bottles and smiled.
"If Fu Teng sees water, he will probably cry with joy."
I chuckled softly.
"Let’s save him before he dies of thirst."
Together, we walked back toward the family.
As Fu Fei and I walked back, the bottles in our hands were already full.
The water moved gently inside them.
Not far from where our side of the family rested, the other branch of the Fu family sat together.
Fu Tian’s family.
Aunt Fu sat on a cloth on the ground, fanning herself with her sleeve. Beside her were Fu Jia and Grandma Fu. Fu Fong stood nearby, while Li Manman sat quietly with her head lowered.
Fu Jia was the first to notice us.
She frowned and nudged her mother.
"Mother... look."
Aunt Fu turned her head.
Her eyes immediately fell on the bottles in our hands.
Then she saw something else.
Fu Fei was drinking from one of the bottles.
And I had just taken a sip too.
Aunt Fu’s brows pulled together.
"Wait," she muttered.
"Didn’t she say that river water was dirty?"
Fu Jia snorted.
"Yes, she did."
They all stared at us suspiciously.
From where they sat, they could clearly see the river behind us.
Fu Jia rolled her eyes.
"So now she can drink it herself?"
Aunt Fu’s face looked unpleasant.
Just then Fu Jia whined loudly.
"Mother... I’m thirsty."
She wiped her dry lips with the back of her hand.
"We have no water left."
Aunt Fu’s expression turned even darker.
She immediately turned toward her son.
"Fu Fong, give your sister your water."
Fu Fong frowned but still reached for the bottle tied to his waist.
Aunt Fu stretched her hand out to take it.
But before she could touch it—
Another hand suddenly grabbed the bottle.
Everyone froze.
Li Manman.
She had taken it first.
Before anyone could react, she lifted the bottle and started drinking.
Big gulps.
One after another.
The water quickly went down her throat.
Fu Jia stared in shock.
Aunt Fu’s eyes widened.
By the time Li Manman lowered the bottle—
It was empty.
Completely empty.
Silence filled the air.
Then,
"You shameless girl!"
Aunt Fu exploded.
She jumped up angrily and pointed straight at Li Manman.
"That water was for Fu Jia!"
Fu Jia immediately stamped her foot.
"Mother! She drank all of it!"
Aunt Fu was furious.
"You greedy thing!" she shouted. "Did anyone tell you to drink it?!"
Li Manman held the empty bottle tightly. Her face was pale but she still spoke softly...with the slight smirk that appeared on her lips you could tell that her actions were done deliberately.
"I... I was thirsty."
Her words only made Aunt Fu angrier.
"Thirsty?!" she shouted. "Everyone here is thirsty!"
Then she suddenly began complaining loudly.
"This is exactly what happens when a you marry someone who brings trouble into the family!"
Her sharp eyes turned toward Fu Fong.
"First your father gave the last water to your grandmother instead of his own wife!"
Grandma Fu immediately glared at her.
But Aunt Fu didn’t stop.
"And now you!" she continued angrily. "Instead of giving the last water to your own sister, you let this useless woman drink it!"
Fu Jia crossed her arms and glared at Li Manman.
"You just came into this family and you already act like this?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Fu Fong looked at the empty bottle in Li Manman’s hand.
His face darkened.
For a moment, the air around them became tense.
Meanwhile, Fu Fei and I had already returned to our side.
Fu Teng saw the bottles and nearly jumped up.
"Water!"
He grabbed one quickly and began drinking like a dying man.
Fu Tong laughed loudly beside him.
"Slow down!"
Fu Fei shook her head helplessly.
Then she glanced toward the other side of the road where Aunt Fu was still shouting.
"...What are they fighting about now?"
I followed her gaze and saw the empty bottle in Li Manman’s hand.
Ah.
So that was it.
I simply looked away.
Not my problem.
"Let them shout how much they want, let’s kind our business," Fu Sheng said to his siblings.
I guess Im not the only one getting sick and tired of their family’s drama.
