Exo Seeker: The Strongest Human Woke Up In The Future!-Chapter 39: Second Group
Chapter 39 - Second Group
Exoskeleton suits are essential for survival in the world of Primers.
Primers possess strength unmatched by normal humans, even without a suit. Every Level Up grants an increase in power—one they can distribute as they see fit.
But without a good suit, they are prone to many weaknesses. That is why Half-Aegis individuals are highly regarded by normal Primers.
And being among the ordinary, Aaron and his team were full of weaknesses—weaknesses Kael could exploit anytime he wanted.
Dozens of openings. Even a severed wire could prove fatal in battle. Kael had merely taken advantage of one of those openings—and this one happened to be one of the most vulnerable parts of the human body: the face.
Aaron and his group wore mediocre mechanical suits, a far cry from the Half-Aegis models the New Ones were equipped with. Their suits were even worse than the first group Kael had massacred. They had helmets, but they were more like the kind worn by cyclists, providing only basic head protection. A simple communication bud and a rectangular monocle for aiming assistance were the only features they had.
Their faces were fully exposed, open to attack. And Kael had seen others like them, making him wonder if they were in their right minds venturing into a Fissure with such glaring vulnerabilities.
He could have killed them all instantly, just as he had done to one of Aaron's teammates. But where was the fun in that? That was why he hadn't put a bullet in Aaron's face after the attack.
Kael wanted revenge—the kind where he could take his time admiring his victim's rollercoaster of emotions. Killing someone was easy. But the process? That was where the real fun was.
And now, after his instant kill, Aaron and his remaining teammates stared at him in shock.
"You..." Leader Aaron gulped, his eyes trembling, hands slick with sweat. Everything had happened too fast. He had barely been able to react. Just moments ago, his heart had been filled with confidence. Now, that confidence was cracking under the weight of realization.
His ego and pride were thrown out the window as fear engulfed him. His mind replayed everything that had happened.
In their first fight, he had been played with, pushed around, unable to land a single hit on the annoying man's face. He had been humiliated—by someone who wasn't even wearing a suit.
At first, he convinced himself it was because he had been careless, underestimating his opponent, who clearly had some martial arts skills.
Strength wasn't the only thing that mattered in this world, and Aaron knew that. But his trust in his own abilities had blinded him, even after his defeat. He still believed that if he hadn't held back, he would have crushed the non-suited man.
Even when Kael had shot him with his sniper and sent him flying into his teammates, Aaron's confidence hadn't wavered—his frustration and anger had drowned out reason.
But now, as his mind settled, the strangeness of the situation became clear.
"Y... you—what are you?" Aaron gulped, stepping back, using his teammates as a shield.
By now, they had long forgotten about the Final Boss still rampaging on the platform. Not that it mattered. Because standing in front of them was basically another Final Boss.
"A-are you really going to kill us? In front of all these people?"

"Just like you said, this is the Fissure," Kael stated, his tone cold and emotionless. The killing intent leaking from him made Aaron and his group shudder. "There's no law here. And neither will they care if you four die."
"W-we can handle him, Boss!" one of Aaron's teammates gritted his teeth. "There's four of us and only one of him! He doesn't even have a suit!"
Hearing this, Aaron glanced at his team and realized that he was the only one who understood the situation. No matter how he looked at it, this strange man was dangerous, with or without a suit.
But what his teammate said made sense.
"He doesn't have a suit, but we should treat him like he does," Aaron said after some thought. "We have to take him very seriously."
"Alright! I'll make sure my bullets will pi—" One of his teammates couldn't finish his sentence as a bullet hole appeared on his forehead. With a metallic thud, the man fell.
"Sh*t!" Aaron cursed. "Kill him!"
Aaron and his team used their suits to the best of their abilities. Deploying shield tubes in front of them and activating their Speed Modules, they closed the distance with the White Prime in an instant.
"Time to end the fun," Kael muttered as he reloaded his sniper before firing three times.
Three men fell, their bodies sparking as they skidded across the platform, passing Kael. Visible holes marked their foreheads, blood leaking out.
Kael raised his pulse rifle as Aaron stopped in front of him. Aaron's Mechanical Suit let out a whirring sound as it came to an abrupt halt, nearly overheating.
With the barrel pressed against his forehead, Aaron swallowed hard.
"I... I'm sorry," Aaron pleaded, his eyes and lips shaking from terror. "Spare me. I'll give you everything you want!"
"Everything I want?" Kael tilted his head, pressing the barrel harder against Aaron's forehead.
"Y-yes!" Aaron shouted, his voice tinged with excitement, his eyes burning with hope. "Money, a Mechanical Suit, my entire arsenal of weapons! I'll give them all to you if you spare my life!"
"Hmm, sounds intriguing," Kael said, nodding as if considering the offer.
Seeing the man in deep thought, Aaron let out a quiet sigh of relief. He glanced at his fallen teammates for a moment before his eyes shifted to his retractable sword.
As I thought, he's just like us. Profits and benefits talk more in a situation like this... what a scum, acting like he's doing something noble.
His grip on his weapon tightened.
But I'm not giving you sht!*
His face twisted, killing intent erupting.
With a swift motion, he pulled his sword back and thrust it toward Kael!
"Die!" Aaron roared in a crazed voice as his weapon neared the side of the annoying man.
A deafening bang echoed. The sound was so close that Aaron's ears went numb. His body fell sideways, his vision blurring before darkness consumed everything.
Kael lowered his weapon, smoke still rising from the barrel. His cold gaze lingered on Aaron's corpse.
"It was a good act, but your soul told a different story. Not that it matters... I was going to kill you anyway, even if you handed me your sh*tty possessions."
Shaking his head, he looked ahead. The Ground Fire Hog was now surrounded by the Primers, their attacks striking the Behemech at both long and close range.
The Behemech still spewed flames across the platform, but its attacks were weaker now. The normal Primers no longer had to worry about being instantly burned alive.
Kael noted that the battle was about to end soon, so he decided to find his companions. But after taking a step, he stopped, his gaze shifting to his left hip.
A sword was lodged deep.
Reaching behind him, he felt the blade's tip protruding from his back.
"You should be proud that you managed to wound me with your measly skills," Kael muttered to Aaron's lifeless body before turning away, heading toward the miner and Trey.
