Flenor Islands.

Also frequently referred to as the ’Nation Of Isles’, it had a capital city named Aquilith Haven.

Aquilith Haven was a pleasure city where everything went as long as you had the looks, wits, riches and connections to set yourself far above the others on the social hierarchy.

It was also where the second-year cadets of Arcana Academy were headed over to.

Located on the right lower regions of southern hemisphere of the world map, the Nation Of Isles and it’s capital city was somewhere everyone definitely wanted to visit at least once in their lifetime despite how very much fraught with danger it was.

Known for its multiple beautiful sky islands that floated in the air due to an unnatural phenomenon that literally had no explanation whatsoever, the nation served as a prime spot for wonder, extravagance and most especially, tourism.

But of course, with lots of tourism, came many opportune chances for many dark organizations to commit crimes, perform exploits and perpetrate illegal conducts, even under the very watchful eyes of the Flenor Islands’ Tower Branch.

That however, did absolutely nothing to ward off an influx of tourists who still wanted to explore the sights and views of the dazzling nation which seamlessly blended it’s massively spanning archipelagos with the magnificently beautiful floating islands.

There were, literally, so many sky islands that had been yet to be explored in this luxurious nation.

So many of them genuinely held miraculous wonders of their own and even some explorers and archaeologists would frequently go on about how some of the islands definitely housed ancient secrets lost to the aeons of time.

But what really, really drew most tourists to travel by airships to Flenor Islands, as opposed to simply going over there through a teleportation portal, was the opportunity to catch the sight of the gigantic circular gorge left behind by the aftermath of the battle between Amael and the Demon King.

This same phenomenon was currently what was happening aboard the main deck of the academy’s airship right now.

Excited loud gasps, chatters, mutters and murmurs completely filled the air as the cadets swarmed the main deck like ants, each and every one of them having various expressions on their faces that ranged from amazement, terror, and utter disbelief as they stared with their eyes glued at the gigantic dark and hollow abyss below them.

"Should this even be possible…" one cadet muttered in disbelief, a slight expression of fear in his eyes.

"How strong were those two really?" another cadet said aloud, her tone dyed in immense curiosity.

"The scale of this… this destruction - It’s almost unbelievable! And I’m staring right at it!" another cadet said while shaking his friend’s shoulder vigorously, a look of genuine awe in his eyes!

Surrounded on all sides by the beautiful and boundless blue ocean due to millenniums of no living organism being able to survive within its range, the gently swaying waters of the ocean, as if barriered by an invisible energy, was unable to spill even a single drop into the abysmally fathomless depths of the deep gorge.

"Good gracious..." Maya muttered to herself while covering her mouth in utter shock as she stood beside Ivar who just like her, was completely taken aback by the unnatural sight.

Unnatural, unexplainable sights were very common in their world but this, to both them and even most of the other youths, took the cake out of everything else they had experienced or witnessed in their entire lives.

"Like… I’ve never seen an EX-ranker fight before but could this potentially be the scale of how their battles would be?" Beatrice asked the youths around her, a strong hint of amazement in her tone.

"I have no idea…" Bryan and Adrian replied in unison with the same look of amazement in their own tones.

Taking a few pictures with her smartphone, Caroline returned the relic back into her spatial ring while marveling at the sight before her along with Ivelia and Amelia whom were unable to even utter a single word as they kept staring.

"You’ve seen this before?" Lucas suddenly threw a curious question towards Aiden and Flynn who seemed quite a bit unfazed by the entire sight unlike the others, one of his hands tucked into his pockets.

Ben was also standing behind him with an awestruck expression on his features as he gazed at the gorge just like everyone else.

Flynn and Aiden who were leaning on the railings, in response, just glanced over to the blonde youth standing behind them, and then, with a nonchalant expression, coolly replied with a lie.

"Nope. Not at all"

In the next two hours following the unnatural sight they had all witnessed though, the cadets aboard deck soon watched as Flenor Islands came into full view from afar.

It’s dazzlingly massive archipelagos combined with its multiple floating sky islands, created a mesmerizing sight to behold, beckoning for people to come explore the wondrous nation.

Finally reaching Aquilith’s Haven main skyport, the cadets were once again, forced to marvel at just how vastly different the Nation of Isles, greatly differed from how futuristically modern Arcadia felt.

The humongous skyport they were porting at, was a hub of bustling activities as multiple airships continuously docked and set flight.

The architectural design of the port was also a seamless blend of futurism and steampunk-like aesthetics, creating an enthralling and technological advanced sight that hooked one’s attention.

Still finding the new environment quite exciting, some of the instructors requested for all cadets back into the airship for a briefing on the guidelines, do’s and don’ts, and other things that they would need to accomplish over the course of their stay in Flenor Islands one more time.

In addition to that, the cadets were also reminded not to forget anything important to them in their small cabins atop the luxurious airship.

As this was happening, the rest of the instructors moved to the skyport’s grounds via the airship’s retractable staircase, taking along with them all the sky pirates who had served as a good training experience for their cadets on their journey there in tow.

Akin to offenders on a death row, all of them were bundled and tied together with linking mana-restraining chains, causing a lot of attention to be drawn towards them at the skyport as they had their heads lowered in shame.

In line with this, was the arrival of a dozen rankers from the Aquilith Haven’s Tower branch who made their way into the skyport, ready to take the offenders into custody.

The entire process happened so fast and within no less than five minutes, all the sky pirates were taken off the hands of the Arcana Academy’s instructors and straight to the Tower to be placed behind bars.

Soon enough after this was done, the cadets that were previously being re-briefed, were dismissed and in an orderly manner, they made their way out of the airship, ready to follow their instructor’s orders as to where next.

In response to this, the instructors promptly began to group the cadets.

Sectioning the 127 cadets into groups of five each, along with four instructors per group, they began to lead the cadets out of the skyport and onto the luxurious double-decker buses which would take all of them to the hotel Arcana Academy had already reserved weeks ahead for them.

Now although hover buses would ensure faster arrival around Aquilith Haven’s bustling city which was built on a massively-large archipelago, at the end of the day, it was a school trip after all.

And, what is a school trip without a good chunk of sight-seeing? Especially in a nation and its capital whose main appeals were its tourist attractions.

Buses on a ground-level would definitely ensure that all the best sights could be seen properly without just gazing at them from above.

Calmly making their way onto the large double-decker buses as each of their assigned instructors gave a roll call, all of the cadets were soon ready to roll out along with their instructors.

Slowly leaving the skyport’s parking lot for vehicles, all of the camper buses followed themselves in an orderly fashion and made their way into the city.

Each sitting by the window-sides and enjoying the feeling of being in a new environment, Flynn and Aiden fully took in the beauty of Aquilith Haven’s bustling city.

Beautiful streets teemed with pulses of life and vibrancy as people and vehicles moved about, attending to their own affairs.

Fairly tall buildings adorned the streets in a mesmerizing array of colors and architectural styles, but not full of constantly towering buildings when compared to New Eden, Arcadia’s capital city.

Gondolas and ornately-designed boats, all guided by skilled oarsmen, navigated through winding waterways which were present in almost every part of the city, carrying both locals and tourists alike through a much slower pace across the lively city.

In addition to all this, were towering skybridges with intricately designed lattice works and magnificent arches, all of which either linked to the next island or, led to some of the floating islands way above the cityscape.

Some sky-bridges on the other hand were just there to provide a slightly elevated angle of some of the best views of the vibrant city below.

The ride from the skyport to their hotel though, a luxurious beachfront resort that went by the name AquaMaris, and was nestled close to Aquilith Haven’s glistening shoreline, roughly took about twenty-five minutes.

As the cadets got down from the buses, their excitement reached absolutely feverish levels when they saw the edges of the expansive golden sand and the gently cascading cerulean waves that extended towards each other in such a breathtaking view, all in a vibrant spectacle with a large number of people enjoying themselves at the beach.

Before most of the cadets could erupt in a display of youthful vigor though, Cordelia calmly spoke up, instantly drawing their attention.

"Now I know you’re all excited to make the most out of your school trip but, we have to check in first!" she gestured with one of her fingers raised up while adding a few more words.

"Everything else can come after that alright?"

"Yes ma’am!" the male cadets instantly responded in a synchronous manner.

Nodding their heads in understanding while simultaneously suppressing their excitement, all the cadets maintained their orderliness and quickly made their way into the massively luxurious beachfront resort.

Shaking his head in amusement, Aiden muttered to himself as he casually also made his way into the resort with his brother.

"How youthful…"
