-Boom! Boom! Booooommmm!!!

Feeling another series of muffled explosions from the instructor’s lounge of the entertainment deck that they were on, Cordelia Violet, Instructor-In-Charge of ⸢Mana Studies⸥, had a slightly worried expression on her face while muttering.

"I’m just being a bit paranoid. They’ll be alright"

Shaking her head to brush off the slight unease she was feeling, she watched as the various other instructors kept socializing with each other.

Playing darts, watching sports, reading books, sharing interesting life experiences… every one of them genuinely seemed to be having a good time.

The soft jazz also helped to keep the atmosphere chill, despite the serious mini-warfare that was happening on the top deck.

-Sigh…

Releasing a soft sigh, the beautiful woman with a beautiful light shade of lustrous purple hair suddenly felt something really cold press on her cheeks.

Retracting her head back involuntarily to the sudden tingling sensation, Cordelia whipped her head around to watch as Monica, one of the many instructors at Arcana Academy and also her closest friend, offered her a can of chilled soda with a comforting gesture, one of her eyebrows arched up.

"You worry too much Cordelia" the pretty black-haired woman with attractive features calmly said to her friend, her grey irises giving her an assuring look.

"I know. I know" Cordelia obliged to her gesture, receiving the can from her with a small smile.

"You do know they’re by far the most talented set the school has had in years. And that’s saying something when you consider that their parents, our own seniors back then, were previously thought of to be the best of the best"

Plopping down on the red velvety couch beside her, Monica then switched the topic of conversation by nudging her head over to the man sitting on the opposite couch with a stoic expression on his handsome face, a spell book about rune magic in his hands.

Her eyes seemingly asked Cordelia if there was any progress but the beautiful woman just had a blush surface on her cheeks and began fiddling with edges of the soda’s can.

With a sigh of resignation and a hopeless look in her eyes for her close friend, Monica’s eyes travelled over to Darius who just like most of the other Instructors, completely seemed unbothered by the havoc that was happening on the airship’s deck.

This same man, was the one responsible for this airship travel and the rotations that the cadets were working on.

Normally, Arcana Academy’s school trip to Flenor Islands, a pleasure nation where whatever happens there, stays there, was something that could easily be done through something as simple as a portal jump.

However, Darius had proposed to the academy’s officials, and especially the Vice Dean, to make it an airship travel.

The reason for it as he had written in his proposal, was to give the cadets early on-the-job learning experiences of what it was like to have to battle actual dangerous adversaries for when the time came for them to actually become rankers or delvers.

"Think of it as an extensive training period" he had calmly addressed all the cadets when the approval for said proposal had gone through, much to all of the cadet’s joy as they fantasized about having a fun, relaxing airship travel.

Little did they know back then that they would constantly be hogged on a frequent basis by multiple monsters and sky pirates that never seemed to learn their lessons.

The instructors however, had been so ecstatic about the proposal been approved because in most of them’s opinion, it was like a three-day short and sweet working vacation for them.

Some were even seen profusely giving their heartfelt appreciation to Darius when the proposal had gone through, almost as if he was their Messiah or something.

Shaking her head in resignation at the man who flipped to the next page of his spell-book with a look of mild concentration on his handsome features, Monica just downed the remaining contents of her can’s soda while thinking to herself.

’Well he did set up a massive array spanning almost a kilometer so I guess there’s really nothing to be bothered about…’

Back to the massive main deck of the academy’s airship though, the intense battle which had been going on for over an hour now, was slowly but surely, coming to a close.

Ivelia took down another massive phantasm by turning it into an ice sculpture with a bunch of freezing arrows, finally shattering it with her weapon art to end its life.

Ivar used his nano-band of multiple transforming gadgets to cleverly take down a few more sky pirates.

Lucas… well he just kept on his continued rampage and ferocious assault of terror by destroying every pirate airship he came across with his destructive [Chain Reaction] spell, despite not actually being on rotation with the others.

Amelia just quietly sat by and watched her fiancé’s ruinous ’work of art’ play out with another tired sigh.

Adrian cleaved through another airship again with his weapon art, unknowingly traumatizing multiple members of the Megalodons who would be having nightmares of a lethally terrifying golden flame dragon for years to come.

Flynn, now returning back to his far more relaxed state of being, orchestrated and tricked a bunch of Phantasms and Sky Pirates into blowing themselves up, a genuinely amused expression playing on his features as he watched the disastrous event play out.

Aiden, as you must have guessed it, after a while, got bored of having it too easy and then proceeded to sit down in a lotus position mid-air at some point and just took in the havoc playing in the atmosphere while quietly munching on his popcorn.

In the next few minutes following each and every cadet doing their own thing, the phantasms were completely wiped out and the sky pirates were all subdued.

Even their boss, who somehow survived the ordeal with the phantasm, was now tied along with his rag-tag group of subordinates and minions with a mana-restraining rope, all of their hands cuffed.

That however, didn’t stop most of the still pissed-off cadets from ganging up and stomping on the pirate members, all while unleashing a slew of never-ending expletives and terrible curses from their lips.

Even some of the staffs who had now returned back to the main deck, especially the engineers among them, who also had to fix the things that were destroyed, again, following the aftermath of the battle, swiftly also joined in in dishing out their own ’punishment’ along with the annoyed cadets.

A pitiful scene soon ensued where the so-called ’sky pirates’ just started begging for mercy while crying in such an ugly manner, snot and all, despite most of them being grown-ass adults.

At this miserable sight, Aiden along with Ivar and Adrian, just shook their heads in resignation and retreated back into the deck with most of the other cadets, a bit tired from all the fighting.

Although the sky pirates had no idea of it, all the cadets and staffs knew that Darius had cast a kilometer-spanning healing array with his [Rune Series], placing a condition where no fatal injury could actually happen as long as it was within that set radius.

This was why despite all the massive explosions and destruction that had happened, not a single cadet and sky pirate actually incurred serious injuries.

Thinking to himself over how busted the spell was, especially since it had been maintained from the moment they all boarded the academy’s luxurious airship three days ago, Flynn casually leaned on the railings of the airship’s main deck, his hair slightly fluttering in the wind.

"Honey. You coming?" Ivelia who was also about to head back to the student’s entertainment lounge, asked the youth with a questioning expression.

"I will in a few minutes dear. Just need a bit of me time" Flynn replied with a warm smile.

"Alright then. I’ll be in the entertainment lounge if you need me" she said while placing a small affectionate kiss on his cheek before leaving too, a tender expression on her face.

Watching as the automatic glass doors closed behind her, Flynn’s warm gaze was then directed away from her and upwards into the sky after a while, a certain wave of calmness washing over him.

After staring at the boundless blue sky for a few more seconds, some of the destroyed pirate airships still struggling to stay afloat with billowing fumes of smoke emanating from them, Flynn retrieved his own copy of the small book Xavier had given both he and Aiden.

Reading through its content again for the umpteenth time for a few minutes, the youth casually began to flip through the empty pages of the pocket notebook with no particular aim in mind.

While performing this mundane action though, Flynn soon realized that the notebook started flipping on its own rapidly and upon flipping till it reached the middle page, a few words slowly began to materialize onto the pages on its own.

A bit unfazed by the mind-boggling occurrence which was happening for the very first time, the handsome youth watched on with curious eyes as the words kept on forming on the page.

After a few more seconds, the words stopped appearing and Flynn just casually read through everything again from start to finish.

’Literally didn’t contact us for the past five months and then suddenly this happens…’ Flynn inwardly commented with an unperturbed expression.

’Celestial orbs huh… I wonder how we’re supposed to find that with literally no clues or leads’ he mused to himself following his previous internal comment.

Flipping the book close, the youth returned the book to his spatial bracelet while uttering a few words as he slowly leaned off the railings, both of his hands tucked into his pockets.

"Well, guess we’ve got even more extra work on our hands then Aiden…"
