Mesmerized the two slightly hovering, small golden orbs the size of a grape that had an ethereal feel to them, Aiden and Flynn kept gazing at them, a strong urge to touch it taking over their being.

Cleaning her thinly-framed glasses with a small microfiber cloth, Sigrun began to speak once again.

"Those are the orbs. You’ve earned them. Go ahead and take it" her eyes still focused on the glasses she was cleaning, although, a gentle smile nestled on her lips.

Hearing her words, both youths, despite having a strong urge to instantly do as she said, suppressed the urge and instead, took a deep breath.

Feeling themselves being in more control over their beings, Flynn was the first to speak up.

"There’s actually a lot we don’t know about all that’s going on. There’s really only this vague understanding that there’s something much bigger brewing in the background…"

"We’d be really grateful if you could enlighten us just a little bit more" Aiden pleadingly added.

Listening to the words from both youths, Sigrun who had now placed her glasses on her fake, old and wrinkled face, had a look of understanding in her eyes.

With a small nod, she began to speak again.

"Well, that’s very understandable. There has been many iterations after all and after the third, I decided to become an information broker so there’s an awful lot I know and an awful lot I also don’t know"

"Perks of experiencing Arcanora get destroyed a few hundred times I guess" she casually added.

Hearing her casually utter that, Flynn and Aiden couldn’t help but have a chill run down their spines.

Just thinking about the world getting destroyed a few hundred times, sent a wave of fear running through their entire beings.

"I should explain though, that in every iteration, there are sub-iterations" Sigrun kept speaking calmly, her hands placed on the counter while staring at the youths.

"When things begin to go haywire, far beyond our expectations, or, mostly, his expectations, he either rewinds the entire world to a set period of time or, if upon experiencing Arcanora getting destroyed once again by Beelzebub, he completely rewinds the world to the earliest peaceful state with that nasty authority of his…"

"Authority?" Aiden questioned curiously.

"Yes. An authority. I don’t really know the specifics of it but I know it has something to do with a fusion of aether and prana. Something only people like him and Amael have being able to achieve" Sigrun responded with a thoughtful expression.

"He calls it ⸨World Reversal EX⸩; and it’s the sole reason why even after this final planet has lost against Beelzebub so many times, it still exists and is yet to be conquered by him" she further explained.

"That’s how we’ve experienced a few hundred iterations of the world…"

A small pensive silence passed through the bookstore, weighing heavy on both youths.

However, after a few seconds, Flynn suddenly spoke up.

"We?" he asked, a small frown dying his face.

"Yes. My sisters and I. We’re the only five left of our entire race" the Valkyrie replied with a small nod.

"In fact, I sense, although very faintly, that you came into contact with one of them, maybe five to six months ago…" she added, placing a few fingers on her chin.

"The prana that lingers on both of you is a bit weak so I can’t exactly pinpoint whom it is…"

Glancing over at each other, Aiden and Flynn had a similar frown form on their features.

They had no idea how they had even come into contact with such being previously but then again, right here and now, they were learning a lot of new stuff they never even knew about, even with their previous knowledge from the novel.

So, coming across a Valkyrie without even knowing that they did, seemed less concerning when they really thought about it.

Pushing those thoughts aside, Aiden asked a question he and his brother had been itching to know for the longest time now.

"We’ve been curious for the longest time so I’d like to ask. What exactly is prana?"

"That, is an energy that comes from your soul. A manifestation of your will and a reflection of your being. It’s also very similar to mana but with a more restricted usage. It has conditions and what-nots so it can be a bit annoying to use at times but it’s just as powerful" Sigrun explained with a small gesture of her hands.

"You’ll both eventually be able to use it too in due time too. I feel an immense amount of it constantly swirling within you but you seem to have not even the slightest idea about it"

Nodding their heads, even though they still didn’t really understand how it worked, Flynn soon asked another question.

"You mentioned our planet as the final planet? Have the others been destroyed by Beelzebub then?"

"Unfortunately, yes…" Sigrun replied and then continued speaking.

"Most of the other races have also been annihilated too and the little that are left, have been completely brainwashed and now work under the demons. Obviously, we valkyries being the sole exception…"

"That aside, these brainwashed races also occasionally try to invade this world through the fissures but I and some of my sisters, along with Xavier, have been preventing their entrance for hundreds of years now…"

"It’s also why your Dean is usually never available most of the time. To maintain the peace of this planet and its inhabitants"

Hearing another major revelation, Flynn and Aiden really felt as if they were just the cogs in a wheel of a much larger story.

There was so much going on and yet, they knew next to nothing about it and neither could they help out in anyway.

How could they even? When they were clearly not even up to the level of the Valkyrie before them.

Despite how much Sigrun had said she wasn’t going to hold back, Aiden and Flynn definitely knew she held back quite a lot in their battle against her nevertheless.

Reading the multiple thoughts running through their minds, Sigrun immediately halted their negative thoughts.

"No. You both are doing just fine. In all the other iterations, despite the other transmigrators, reincarnators and rebirths, this is the one time when Xavier has bestowed this upon anyone" she gestured to the floating golden orbs.

"There were others before us?" Aiden and Flynn asked in unison, surprise etched on their features.

"Yes. Very much so. They all failed though…" Sigrun frowned as she spoke.

"That being said though, I don’t know exactly what is in these orbs nor do I know how it works but I sense a ridiculous amount of energy from it so I know it’s exceedingly important" she continued speaking.

"In addition to that, Xavier never makes a wrong decision. So, if he decided that you guys are worthy of handling it, then I firmly trust in his judgement. And I also trust in my own judgement from my spar with you"

"Also, this iteration hasn’t gone through a single sub-iteration so far…" Sigrun gave a warm smile this time as she continued.

"I don’t know what it is you both are doing, but it’s definitely working so keep up the good work"

A bit surprised by the sudden compliment, both brothers had a wry smile surface on their features as Aiden scratched the back of his head while Flynn just interlocked his hands and fiddled with it.

Feeling the wave of comfortable silence hang in the air, all three individuals didn’t say anything for a while and just took in the ambience instead.

Having another sudden thought pop into his mind though, Flynn was about to ask another important question when a small rumble that shook the entire bookstore was heard.

-Grrrrggg…

"Ah… My mindscape is about to shift places" Sigrun casually stated.

"Shift places?" Aiden asked.

"Yes. There’s a condition on it that requires it to change its location every week, so I never stay in one place. I do work as an information broker after all so I can’t only stick around in one nation… although, only very few know about my store" Sigrun explained.

"Today’s week has almost reached its timing so it’ll shift very soon" she continued and Flynn immediately picked up from there.

"So we better leave as soon as possible…" he calmly stated.

"Unfortunately yes child" Sigrun replied and once again, gestured to them to take the orb with her hands.

Moving over to it, Aiden and Flynn finally took the pulsing golden orbs and were almost about place it in their spatial storage when Sigrun suddenly spoke up with a questioning expression on her wrinkled face.

"What do you think you’re doing?"

Tilting their heads in slight confusion, both brothers responded synchronously.

"Storing the orb…"

Blinking her eyes a few times, Sigrun gave an unbelievable order to the youths with a deadpan expression.

"Swallow it"

"What?!" Flynn and Aiden exclaimed in unison, a look of utter disbelief on their faces.

"You heard me right the first time. Swallow it"

Staring back at her emotionless old face, Flynn and Aiden instantly understood that the Valkyrie before them wasn’t kidding at all with her order.

With a reluctant sigh and a deep frown on their faces, akin to a child not wanting to take their medicine, both brothers did as they were told.

-Gulp!

The few seconds after that, was one of the most uncomfortable moments of their entire lives, especially after realizing they had actually ingested an object they knew next to nothing about.

"Good!" Sigrun clasped her hands and then gestured to both youths to leave her store with a warm smiled.

As both brothers gave their gratitude and goodbyes to the Valkyrie for all the important information she had shared with them, she gave an advice to them just as they were about to leave the store.

"Both of you, just focus on getting as strong as you possibly can. Nothing more, nothing less"

Responding to her advice with respectful nods, Aiden and Flynn walked out of the store and the moment they did, it immediately vanished into thin air.

-Fuuwammm!!!

Not minding the occurrence, both brothers walked through the invisible wall and soon found themselves almost out of the alleyway that had brought them here, the lively festivities still going strong.

Quickly checking their smartwatches, both brothers soon realized they had only been gone for only five minutes.

’Totally forgot about the time but I guess that’s why she wasn’t worried one bit about speaking to us for so long. She probably altered the perception of time in the mindscape the moment we started battling her’ Aiden thought to himself and then glanced over to see his brother staring at the signpost just outside the alleyway.

"Sig & Run Storefront…" Flynn on the other hand, muttered to himself.

With a slight shake of his head and a small smile, the youth slowly began to head back into the festival with his brother to find their respective partners while thinking to himself.
