Extra And MC-Chapter 128 - 124 - Well Earned
(A few minutes before Flynn caught Sigrun off-guard…)
Barely preventing himself from slipping into the endlessly starry abyss below along with his slipping consciousness, Flynn forcibly used his other hand which was holding onto his katana to stab himself in the thigh.
-Kach!
Stifling a groan as wave of pain washed over him, the youth quickly removed the blade and returned it back into his spatial bracelet, his consciousness returning instantly.

Now hanging onto the ledge with two hands, Flynn was about to hoist himself up and back into the battle before suddenly pausing mid-way as a few thoughts ran across his head in a split second.
’No. That won’t do! I’ll get totally clapped if I rush back into battle’
’Aiden should be able to hold on for a while...’
’Need to find a way to land a solid hit even once!’
Following this string of thoughts, another slew of thoughts made their way into his head.
’She doesn’t seem to be able to use externally emitting attacks…’
’Or maybe, she just isn’t?’
’But why spare us when she clearly hasn’t really been holding back since the beginning?’
’Maybe there’s a reason why?!’
’That aside… I’m sure she’s realized I haven’t fallen off yet’
’So why hasn’t she come for me just yet?’
Pushing those set of thoughts aside, Flynn quickly began pondering over how they could properly gain an advantage over the woman who seemed to know their every attack just before it happened. Similar to the way mana sense worked.
Thinking over it for a few more minutes, Flynn soon came to a hypothesis.
’Other beings’ asides humans can’t use mana. That’s pretty much already confirmed through Xavier’s notes…’
’So the only reason she’s able to sense us, is probably because prana, whatever that is, is in our bodies as Xavier also vaguely explained…’
’And I can bet that it probably is at its most obvious when we use mana!’
’So what if I…’
Trailing off of his internal thoughts which all happened in the fraction of a second, Flynn retrieved his mana slates with the [Ether Blade] spell.
Sticking them onto the side of the platform he was on dangling from, mimicking the exact position he was in while infusing a lot of mana into them, the youth dropped onto two of the remaining slates.
Then, slowly hovering underneath the platform, the youth used his bare hands to latch onto the platform from underneath, ensuring his grip was tight and firm despite the obviously dangerous scenario he was placing himself in.
One wrong move from here on out would spell his death and he knew that!
But, using the vibrations from above the platform due to his brother and the Valkyrie’s battle, he was able to roughly pinpoint where the Valkyrie was.
Upon getting the rough location of it, the youth controlled his mana slates and sent them attacking the area he had genuinely hoped she was above the platform.
"Got you!"
Further cementing her exact location with the sound of her deflection of his slates, Flynn moved over carefully, and with a powerful pull, used his head to break through from underneath, straight onto the rocky terrain of the platform.
-Grrrgggkk…
-Crack!!!
Catching Sigrun off-guard in an instant, the youth capitalized on the split moment and nailed a devastatingly crunching punch onto her face which was protected by her finely-crafted feathered helmet.
That was how he had impressed the battle junkie Valkyrie who was caught off-guard by his attack.
Now, a few minutes after that, still with no major hope of victory in sight, Aiden held the wrist of one his hands while Flynn who stood directly in front of him casted another [Force Field] he very much knew Sigrun was going to shatter once again.
But this time, without even having to converse, an on the fly plan rushed through their minds!
"Aiden!!! She’s coming!" Flynn shouted with urgency as the Valkyrie dashed towards them with her massive wings, her formless weapon poised to strike.
"Need more time!" Aiden replied swiftly with a shout of his own, a dire expression coloring his face.
-Crack… Shatter!!!
"That’s not happening and you freaking know it!!!" Flynn shouted again as his green aquamarine barrier shattered the moment Sigrun attacked.
"Duck, now!!!" Aiden ordered with a bellowing shout and instantly, just as Flynn barely evaded Sigrun’s attack, the youth raised his hand which a tiny yet viciously churning dark green orb had been forming on.
Directly jamming his palm which had the spell on it straight into the dashing Valkyrie, the youth shouted with a thundering and heaven-defying roar.
"[Gravity Series: Singularity]-!!!"
The dark green orb, which was previously the size of a small bead, instantly enlarged to the size of a standard football as it viciously collided onto the Valkyrie.
-BAMM!!!
Using her formless weapon to block at the very last minute, Sigrun felt as the viciously churning dark green hole which was currently, and surprisingly, pushing her backwards, also kept trying to suck her in with an uncontrollably powerful force, along with every rock within vicinity, inflicting more damage as time went on.
"What the?!" the valkyrie muttered, a bit of disbelief dyeing her helmet-covered face.
But as if to emphasize they were hell-bent on also paying her in kind for all the pain she put them through, Sigrun watched as a pale arc of crescent energy, reminiscent of the moonlight, rapidly rushed towards her.
Simultaneously after watching as his Flynn released {Severance}, which was already nearing the Valkyrie in the fraction of a second, Aiden used another destructive spell!
"[Gravity Series: Compression]-!!!"
The result of all three powerful attacks, was a cataclysmic explosion that at first, compressed as if it was never going to explode and then instantly, like a dam breaking loose from its hold, the explosion burst forth like a tiny nuclear bomb, obliterating more than half of the platform they were on.
-BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!
Watching as they both left undisputed destruction in their wake, Flynn and Aiden collapsed to the ground on their knees with huffing breaths, all of their mana and even physical limits reached and exhausted.
"I have to say. Xavier really did make a stellar decision this time…" Sigrun casually spoke, a strong wave of amusement in her voice as she levitated far above the two youths, watching along with them as the destroyed debris of rocks floated in her mindscape.
’How did you escape that?!!!’ Flynn and Aiden inwardly screamed once they noticed the Valkyrie above them who was admiring their destructively cataclysmic ’work of art’.
"I blinked out of there of course!" she replied while gazing down at the youths below her, her helmet already removed and her lustrous black hair gently swaying in the air.
"Even I don’t want to get caught up in whatever the hell that nasty spell you cooked up was. Not to mention the extra finishing touches you both added hmm" she added with a shrug of her shoulders.
’Ah fuck!’ Aiden and Flynn both cursed, both of their eyes slowly closing just from how tired they were feeling, afraid the Valkyrie would attack them again.
Although they didn’t want to collapse here, their body was making it very hard for them to do so.
"Well, I guess I can give you the orb now. You’ve both proved your worth" Sigrun gently added with a warm smile that was devoid of the previous eeriness it usually held.
’Or you just wanted to have fun tormenting us you darn Valkyrie…’ Flynn thought to himself as his consciousness continued to slip off.
"You. You’re one annoying little brat aren’t you? Reminds me of that bastard back then too!" Sigrun spat out in annoyance, her gaze lingering over Flynn who was giving it his all to not lose his consciousness.
’And he also reminds me of that idiot too…’ the Valkyrie added with another small frown as her gaze travelled over to Aiden, his emerald-green eyes showing no sign backing down despite his body saying otherwise.
’One is an absolute powerhouse while the other is one heck of a smartass. Truly reminiscent of those two bastards…’ Sigrun mused to herself, a thoughtful expression gracing her features.
-Sigh…
Waving one of her armor-clad hands in a gentle arc, the mindscape slowly began to dematerialize and just as it had previously transformed to the cosmic space, or a domain of sorts, it slowly morphed back into the quaint old bookstore.
Feeling their entire beings rejuvenated, as if all that had happened had just being an illusion, Aiden and Flynn promptly got off their feet, completely at alert once again.
Even their clothes were in its pristine condition, similar to the time they had just entered the store.
"You both can take it easy. I’m not planning to have fun with you again" Sigrun casually spoke again, her previous old woman façade now restored.
Glancing at each other, both brothers had their shoulders sag in relief, happy that they didn’t have to go through another episode of pain and torment.
Sitting by the counter with a warm smile on her face, Sigrun began to explain a few things to the youths.
"If you’re wondering why you’re all healed, it’s because I never wanted for any harm to come to you in the first place so everything that actually happened in our battle was more or less erased" she began.
"It’s my mindscape afterall so I decide what happens to the people in it. In fact, you’re still presently in it" Sigrun gestured to the entirety of the bookstore with her hands.
"That actually makes it all the more scary if you really think about it…" Flynn muttered aloud while Aiden nodded in agreement as he added.
"Yeah, you could potentially murder someone before they even got the chance to do anything…"
Sigrun’s eyes twitched a bit in a wave of slight annoyance as the youths took her explanation the other way around.
Inwardly sighing to herself while once again remembering a long forgotten memory of two individuals akin to the youths before her, the Valkyrie waved her palms once again in a small gesture.
Instantly, two pulsing orbs with a soft golden glow, along with tiny cracked spaces present along the course of its body, appeared above her hands.
