Extra And MC-Chapter 136 - 132 - Auction Events IV
(In the grand auction hall…)
"Ambrosia flower going for 750,000 Elnors?!" the auctioneer loudly spoke with a wide, happy grin.
"Would anyone like to place a higher bid?" he asked again, a hint of greedy hope present in his eyes.
"No?! Going for 750,000 Els… Going… Going… Gone!!!" the auctioneer crisply declared before finally gesturing to the lady who had won the bid with a happy grin.
"Sold to Miss. Liliana for 750,000 Els!!!"
"Sigh… I lost another bid again" one fairly pretty lady dressed in a beautiful yellow gown muttered in disappointment while fanning herself elegantly.
"Should I have just splurged?! It’s such a rare plant…" another lady audibly voiced her complaints with a deep frown on her nice-looking features.
As some other ladies and even other men, continuously voiced their discomfort about being unable to get the exceptionally rare flower which only bloomed once in four years and was said to have strong medicinal and beautification properties, the auctioneer proceeded with the next item to be auctioned.
"Now we have here, one of the most sought after items today!" he dramatically exclaimed as everyone in the hall watched as a shimmering and eye-catchingly beautiful and almost ethereal, crystal ore slowly appeared atop the pedestal which was being used to display all the materials that were being auctioned off today.
’I guess everything went well then?’ Aiden who was watching the proceedings along with his groupmates and every other person in the hall pondered to himself.
’But we still haven’t heard anything from Flynn and the others though’ he inwardly commented while lightly tapping his fingers on the arm-rest of the chair he was on.
’I hope there were no crazy occurenc-’ Aiden suddenly paused mid-thought.
’…’
’Yeah, let’s not raise any red flags’ he inwardly declared as he refocused on the dramatic voice of the auctioneer who was trying to rile up the greedy bidders of the auction, especially the researchers, archaeologists and scientists among them.
"This magnificently ethereal ore, the Eclipsian Prism, touted to be the rarest mineral resource and also known for its legendary abilities to-"
"Hmm?" Aiden suddenly voiced, his face contorting into a mixture of a frown and slight confusion.
’What the hell?!’ the youth swiftly got up from his seat in an alarming manner as the auctioneer’s voice faded to the back of his head, immediately alerting the rest of the other youths.
Simultaneously as these happened, the lights of the auction house suddenly went dark for a few seconds.
"What’s going on?"
"Was it a malfunction?"
"This has never happened at the auction before…"
Worried groans, mumbles and complaints instantly filled the currently dark hall but just a few seconds after that, the lights soon flickered back on.
By the time it did though, Aiden was already leaping of the edge of the upper chamber’s balcony with a speedy jump dash.
-Twooshh!!!
With deep looks of surprise and confusion etched on the faces of most of the people present in the hall, they all watched as the youth hurled his way downwards towards the stage where the prism was being displayed.
"What in the world?!" one lady gasped in perplexity as Aiden breezed past her at a blur.
"Dammit! My wig!!!" a handsome man who unfortunately had a terrible case of balding and hair loss shouted in annoyance as the burst of wind from Aiden’s dash swept the wig off his head.
-Boom!!
A muffled explosion soon also shook the entire auction hall simultaneously as Aiden’s mad dash soon neared the elevated platform.
Even more confused gasps and shouts could be heard as everyone in the auction site, instantly had a wary feeling wash over their beings but, as if to give them an even bigger spectacle, something far crazier than Aiden’s sudden dash and the tiny earthquake happened.
-Grrrrrrgggg…
-Grrrrrrgggg…
-THRACK!!!
The polished wooden platform of the grand hall’s wide stage suddenly cracked and burst into splinters of epic magnitude and proportions to reveal a brown-haired man wearing a black demon mask!
However, even the man who had suddenly burst out from the stage in grand fashion, had never expected the crunching punch that landed on his face the moment he appeared.
-BAM!!!
Aiden’s dark-green, mana-coated fists, which already had the [Gravity Blast] spell casted on it, brutally collided with the face of the man pulling his appearing act, sending him blasting a hole through the many walls of the auction hall before then finally landing outside of the Spina De-La Roas’s building entirely.
Still unable to understand what the hell was going on, most of the on-lookers in their auction seats, soon heard a single gunshot that instantly sent them into a wave of panic and pandemonium!
-POW!!!
In an instant eruption of unexpected chaos and fear, most of the normal wealthy individuals present in the grand hall, which also accounted for most of them, immediately began to run helter-skelter, the fear of them losing their lives sending an unexplainable wave of adrenaline coursing through their entire beings!
But at the same time, a fair few number of people stayed in the hall, of which among them were the rest of Team X’s group members, disguised members of The Monolith and expectedly, a few members of The Tower.
Staring at each other in a three-way fashion as none knew whom was a threat and who wasn’t, an eerily dangerous tension hung in the ear, intent on exploding in the very next second…
And it did!
-BOOM!
Magic spells went off in an instant and the innocent auction hall had to bear the collateral damage as a scene of battle and destruction immediately played out in a split second.
To understand how this crazy scenario came to be, the last few previous minutes prior to all of these, needs to be revisited.
***
(About twenty minutes ago…)
When Flynn had carefully and stealthily come across the heavily guarded corridor, the youth had actually, opted to think it over, instead of actually trying to carefully tread through as he had previously been doing.
’There’s no guarantee that this band won’t pull any unexpected malfunction again so I need to find a much stealthier approach instead of just carefully trying to weave my way around them with the cloaking tech’ Flynn had mused to himself.
As he was pondering over it, still with the cloaking tech currently making him invisible while leaning against the wall of the small corridor the previous guards had almost spotted him at, the youth slowly angled his gaze upwards in thought.
And then, as if giving him an answer to his predicament, his eyes landed on the vent just above him, causing a wave of realization to hit him!
’Of course! The vents! Why didn’t I think of that?!’ Flynn exclaimed inwardly as he swiftly used his acrobatic skills to jump up to the ceiling as he previously did and latch onto the railings of the iron vent.
Using the basic strength of an A-ranker, the youth forcefully pried open the screws of said vent with his hands and soon enough, found himself in the fairly spacious and surprisingly, clean air vent.

"I have to say though, this is a remarkably clean air vent!" he commented in very silent manner, his voice barely above a whisper as he slowly began to make his way through the vent, completely bypassing all the guards even without the cloaking tech.
Finally reaching over to the large room where the auctioned goods were presumably being stored, Flynn carefully surveyed the room for as long as he could, hoping no one was there.
The room seemed like any other room in a lavish hotel really, but without a bed and just a singular long and very large contraption that had a moving countertop.
Auction goods which were slowly moving atop this long counter, were then sent into a small spatial hole situated at the very end of the long counter, similar to those situated in a supermarket or at the airport for luggage’s, the only exception being the scale of how very large and well-regulated it was when compared to the normal thing.
’Hmmm… Probably used to send them above to the grand hall itself as a substitute instead of having someone bring it over and risk being impersonated by said person, causing them to easily steal the goods even under watchful eyes’ Flynn mused to himself for a short while.
’I am curious as to why a vent would so conveniently lead here though but then again, some goods, like those expensive rare plants and flowers might need proper airing instead of just a freeze room to remain as fresh as possible...’
’Or maybe I’m just reading too much into it and it’s an oversight on the architectural designing…’ Flynn kept musing before he then finally shook his head once more and ensured that the room was safe for him to land in.
After a few more minutes of studying the room’s structure and the impressive contraption that was auctioning off goods in a smart manner, the youth once again reactivated the cloaking tech and finally decided to drop down.
-Creak… Thud!
Unfortunately for the youth, it seemed like he wasn’t the only one who had thought of such idea because the moment he stood up, despite being cloaked, he suddenly felt a cold object being pressed against his temple as the other individual in the room, also deactivated his cloaking tech.
’Well shit...’ Flynn inwardly cursed while raising his hands up in surrender as the cloaked man whose cloaking tech, presumably the super expensive one, had now also being deactivated to reveal the barrel of an antique revolver fitted with a silencer, gently placed on the youth’s head.
’Damn that mana-siphoning device! If only I had mana sense, this would’ve never happened!’ Flynn inwardly cursed again.
"Well well well? Aren’t you Flynn Belmont?" the masked man soon spoke in an oddly interested tone Flynn could only find quite creepy instead.
"In the flesh..." Flynn soon replied after a few seconds though.
As this was also happening, Adrian and Ivar whom had finally made their way over to their respective positions without any issues soon realized that guards stationed at the places they had been tasked with protecting, was actually guarded by members of The Monolith!
How they had found out, from the ’supposed’ guard’s not-so subtle conversations of course!
Lucas on the other hand, after reaching the room where the mana siphoning device was located at, had a very deep scowl gracing his features.
The contraption, was a massive hourglass machine, which instead of having a thin middle part where all the sand would filter over into the next, a giant round black orb, the size of standard car’s tire, was situated there instead.
Constantly churning and twisting, Lucas felt as the orb which was constantly pulling in all the mana in the surroundings, simultaneously also continued to dissipate it into nothingness.
When they had been discussing plans for the underground structure, Flynn, after digging even further into the dark web, had encountered an unreliable source whom had said something about said contraption in that particular room.
Although a contraption like that was exceptionally and unrealistically expensive to buy just to prevent intruders when one could very well just hire mercenaries for far cheaper, not being the one to take any risks wherever it could be avoided, the youth had promptly informed all the others regarding it still.
Now, the machine, although he had realized it from the moment they went underground that it really was here in all its glory, still came as somewhat of an unbelievable device to Lucas who was currently gazing at it, his body still cloaked as he peeked from the corner.
However, just like Adrian and Ivar, he had also encountered the exact same issue as they had regarding the Monolith intruders and was contemplating over what exactly to do.
Adrian: It’s exactly as Flynn predicted! Those bastards are already here!
The crown prince had been the first to send a text to all the youths.
Considering their smartwatches were completely on silent, there wasn’t going to be any beeping or vibration from a message being sent.
Ivar: Yeah. But the main question is, what do we do now?!
Lucas: I say we wait for a few more minutes. If by chance they make any suspicious movements, we’ll instantly take them down with the sleeping potions.
Adrian: Solid idea! What’s your take Flynn?
After sending that text, the crown prince and the other two waited for about a minute… two minutes… three minutes for a reply but still, nothing came in.
Immediately, a wave of trepidation washed over all three youths as Ivar texted this time, their hearts palpitating rapidly.
Ivar: Flynn… you alright man?
No sooner had Ivar sent this text, all three youths instantly noticed as the ’supposed’ guards who were tasked with guarding the generators and the mana-siphoning device, instantly turned their armed weapons towards it and began to fire like mad men with all their restraints unshackled!
