Extra And MC-Chapter 146 - 142 - Descent Of A Deadly Ray
-Yawn~
’I feel like I just had the longest dream of my entire life…’ Aiden thought to himself while rubbing his temples sleepily.
Stretching tiredly from what should’ve been a well-rested, good night’s sleep, Aiden headed over to the bathroom.
After brushing his teeth, taking his bath and doing all the necessary personal hygiene, the youth then slowly made his way out of his room.
Walking through the corridors of the hotel, the youth soon spotted as Flynn also walked out of his own room.
His handsome face was a bit damp and some of his silvery-green hair still had droplets of water falling to the ground from them.
Giving a slight wave, Aiden greeted his brother with a small smile to which Flynn reciprocated in kind.
Now walking side by side, Flynn soon commented aloud after a few more seconds had passed.
"I feel like I just woke up from the longest dream…"
"And yet, I can’t even remember a single thing" he added while continuing.
"I know dreams are supposed to work like that most of the time but this, for some reason, felt like something I shouldn’t have forgotten" he concluded while yawning.
Aiden on the other hand, slightly tilted his head in curiosity and then, gave his own comment in reply after a brief silence.
"Weird… I also had the exact same feeling when I woke up…"
Hearing this, Flynn paused in his footsteps for a few seconds before he then proceeded to keep walking, a few of his fingers now resting on his chin.
"Hmm…" he quietly voiced, seemingly thinking about something.
Watching his brother trying to make heads or tails about the weird occurrence that had happened to both of them, both he and Flynn soon arrived at the same conclusion after a few seconds.
"You think it has anything to do with those Celestial Orbs we swallowed?" they both simultaneously inquired from themselves.
Realizing that they had the exact same thing in mind, both brothers, after a short while, couldn’t help but just sigh in resignation.
"Well. We’ll add it to the ever-increasing list of questions our Head Dean needs to answer" Aiden shrugged and said.
In agreement with those words, Flynn gently nodded his head in agreement.
Following this, both youths walked in comfortable silence as they headed over to the luxurious dining hall of the elegantly-structured hotel.
The early morning sun that was still low on the horizon, cast a gentle, golden glow that filtered through the expansive windows of the AquaMaris’s Hotel.
The soft, healthy rays, painted the tastefully decorated walls in a slightly luminous manner and also illuminated the marbled floorings.
Along with that was the tranquil and gentle breeze from the sea, causing the cool morning air to be infused with a tiny bit of warmth, bathing the hotel’s interiors in a serene ambiance.
The corridors were scanty, just as expected, and only a few cadets could be seen roaming the pathways or leaving their rooms, presumably for the exact same reasons the two brothers were.
Hunger!
Finally reaching the opulent and luxuriously designed dining hall, fitted with golden bulbs, polished dining table and chairs, along with the shimmeringly eye-catching diamond chandeliers, the two youths soon spotted a few other youths from their dorm.
Huddling around the freezer which was situated in the far corner of the dining room were Ivar, Lucas, Adrian and Bryan.
Casually walking over to them, Bryan who had been the first to spot the two youths, soon gave both of them a deep scowl.
Well, in actuality, that scowl was actually directed towards Flynn specifically.
The moment all the other youths also noticed the silvery-green haired youth, they also, without fail, gave the exact same expression, all except for Ivar who had been expecting this to happen.
Aiden without even minding the glares they were giving his brother, just chuckled to himself while giving his morning greetings instead and then, moved over to the fridge to retrieve a bottle of milk.
Flynn, the one who was garnering a not-so-welcoming morning from the other youths, in reply, had a triumphant smirk on his handsome features.
"Heh. I warned you all but you didn’t listen" he soon began with a mocking grin.
"And now you’re all so pained you can’t help but behave pettily" he further added salt to their wounds.
"How old are you guys? Five?!"
The moment Flynn uttered that last remark in mockery of the three youths, Bryan was almost about to lunge at him, but the others swiftly held him back while trying to calm him down.
"Let. Me. Go!" he voiced in displeasure.
"I’m gonna beat him this time I swear! I swear to high heavens I will!" he declared but even then, the other youths just kept holding him back.
"It was just a game Bryan! Let it go!" Ivar held on to the youth while trying to reason with him.
"A game which I severely lost my pride and honor at! Let me go! I swear I’ll only hit him just once!" Bryan adamantly refused.
"Should you really be trying to attack me hmm? Aren’t your hands still sore from yesterday?" Flynn kept antagonizing the brown-haired youth playfully, unable to suppress his own laughter at this point.
"Come on Flynn. You’ve already tormented him enough last night. Let it go" Adrian finally sighed and said.
"Alright, alright." Flynn responded while raising his hands up in a gesture of admittance.
Yesterday, while out in the shopping mall with the others, Flynn had bought a small but powerful game console which could easily be hooked up to a portable holographic screen.
So, in the night, he had invited all of the boys in his dorm to try out some of the multiplayer games on it.
Ivar and Aiden who pretty much already knew about Flynn’s sadistic tendencies to beat the crap out of his opponents in a videogame had promptly refused while warning the other youths about it too.
However, being the prideful young people that they were, they had even placed a condition where whoever lost each round would have both of their hands clasped together to be slapped by the winner, depending on how you lost.
First place went scot free, second place would be slapped once on their clasped hands, third place twice and fourth place thrice.
Unfortunately for them though, they soon realized that they had dug their own graves after playing through ten rounds without winning once against Flynn.
Bryan, pitifully, ended up becoming Flynn’s punching bag as he came in at fourth in every game while the other two alternated between second and third.
After a few minutes though, all the youths finally calmed Bryan down and a few seconds later, he and Flynn, along with the rest were already discussing about other mundane things, almost as if their confrontation never even happened earlier.
Deciding that after they were done taking their respective morning drinks, they should have a joint training session pending the time the actual food would be ready.

To this, they all promptly agreed.
As this was happening, a sudden shrill yet almost deafening sound suddenly reverberated through the entirety of the hotel!
Wondering what the debilitating noise was all about, most of the youths had a pretty disturbed expression on their faces.
But for Flynn and Aiden, that sound, although they had never heard it even once in their entire lives, just from the way it was so intricately detailed and explained in the novel instantly caused a cold sweat to break out on both of their faces.
Swiftly running out of the beachfront resort without any explanation while being followed by the remaining youths who were just as immensely confused and now in a slight state of panic as the two brothers were, they soon witnessed a really destructive sight unfold before their very eyes.
A blinding burst of radiant scorching energy, akin to a point-blank concentrated rays of the sun, reverberated and converged through the air like a focused beam and then, like crackling streak of lightning, targeted an uninhabited Sky Island in the distance.
The moment the beam collided with the sky island, it was subjected to an instantaneous disintegration, searing through the very structure of the floating island on a molecular level and reducing it to complete and utter subatomic, dust particles.
A residual radiance of hauntingly eerie glow then remained as the beam slowly reduced and finally disappeared as if it was never even there in the first place, a wake of destruction left from its cataclysmic impact.
Watching in terror and fear while standing on the beach with other instructors and cadets whom had now also arrived, everyone on the beach, Flynn and Aiden excluded, despite not knowing what was going to happen from now on, had a terrifying shiver run down their spines.
Some even gulped in fear while some fell on their butts and onto the golden sands of the beach.
The Railgun had finally been completed in all its cataclysmic and destructive glory and who was to say if such an almost celestial weapon of mass destruction and annihilation could be stopped.
