Deep into the night, at around 11pm in the Belmont’s household, the door to a room slightly peeked open.

Popping her head out of the small crack, Briar silently closed the door behind her after ensuring that no one else was awake.

How she knew exactly, the little girl couldn’t say but it just came naturally to her like a sixth sense of sorts, almost as if she was breathing.

Dragging her large teddy bear behind her, a gift from Caroline about six months and a few weeks back, along with her nighttime storybook, the young girl stealthily made her way over to her two brother’s room.

She had been told about three weeks and a few days back when her sleeping brothers arrived by Mama and Papa that they were in a deep slumber and would wake up in a month from then.

When Briar had further asked her Mama, The Duchess, why they were in such state, Anna had ended up explaining to her that her two brothers did something very heroic and needed a long time to rest and recuperate.

Understanding that at least, the young girl had then taken it upon herself to read night-time stories to her two brothers before she herself went to sleep.

Even if she had ended up sleeping earlier in the evening like today, one way or the other, Briar would still eventually wake up just to fulfil that task, one she set for herself.

Finally reaching the door to the new room they were placed in, Briar once again opened the door gently, entered, and then closed the door behind her.

Although the room was quite dark presently, with only the rays of the moonlight slightly illuminating it, the young girl wasn’t particularly bothered by this.

Like a routine movement, the young girl then proceeded to drag a wooden chair from the desk a few centimeters away, moved it over to where the switch was, climbed onto it and then, finally switched on the fluorescent lights in the room.

Proud of her tiny achievement, Briar was about to get down from the chair when she suddenly heard a few small chuckles from behind her.

"Maybe we do have a little spy in this house…"

"I seriously fear the mischievous lady you’ll turn out to be Briar"

With widened eyes, the young girl swiftly turned her head around!

Landing her eyes on her two brothers who were awake and currently chuckling at her meticulous movements, Briar immediately exclaimed with the most radiant expression on her face!

"Brother Aiden & Flynn!"

-Twang!!!

Feeling herself been pushed back by the powerful weight of her two opponent’s longsword, Caroline found herself helplessly careening across the unforgiving pavement of their training arena.

Rolling a few times, her body feeling the pain, the black-haired beauty quickly recovered and got up, her movements frantic.

The moment she did though, she was instantly forced to twirl on her heels and spin backwards, narrowly evading a throwing knife that would have dug deep into her flesh.

-Swish!

Using the same momentum from her spin, Caroline whipped out retractable blade and aimed for the young woman on her far left who had thrown the knife, her weapon coiling like a deadly viper as it reached over to her assailant within the fraction of a second.

Upon noticing this, the other two women who were battling her lunged at her with an inhuman speed that was akin to a bullet whistling through the air, their longswords poised to strike!

And yet, instead of panicking due to how dangerously close the two had gotten, the lady simply ducked with an instant leg split, her mana sense perfectly doing its job.

Having frowns form on all three of their faces, the young women realized they had been tricked by their young lady and she had only used her previous attack aimed at their fellow mate to force them to come together.

And that, was a very bad decision on their end because instantly, Caroline trapped all three of them within a massive ball of regenerating, green, thorny-vines with multiple blooming roses around its body.

-Thruk!!!

-Thruk!!!

-Thruk!!!

Crisscrossing rapidly and slowly tightening around them, the three women bit their lips in disappointment, their defeat eminent.

In just a few seconds after that, they all quickly surrendered!

"We give up!" they said!

With a triumphant smile, Caroline released the spell and then released her three maids from the spell she had ensnared them in, each of them at high-tier B-rank respectively.

Caroline often referred to these maids of hers as Three Musketeers, due to how undeniable their coordination was in a battle and also the fact that they were all sisters with a single age difference between themselves.

Normally, in their spars, Caroline would end up losing after about an hour or so but ever since the event three weeks and a few days ago, Caroline whom had come back home, instantly requested for daily sparring sessions with them.

And each time she did, she would end up coming out on top without fail, using newer and even more sly techniques to win against all three of them every, blessed time.

Turning over to face her mother who was watching from the end of the arena, the young lady watched as Selina gave her a thumbs up due to the level at which she was able to make use of mana sense.

Considering she had started getting the hang of it with Instructor Cordelia’s instructions that one time in class, she had greatly come to master its usage to a certain extent.

It wasn’t as perfect as Aiden’s or Flynn’s but the progress she had made over the course of just these past three weeks alone was exceptional.

"M’lady, are you alright?" one of the three sisters, quickly rushed over when she saw her arm bleeding.

"It’s fine Ria. It’ll heal eventually" Caroline replied as she proceeded to make her way off the arena.

"No, no, no! Ria, give me a low-tier healing potion now!" Sia, her other sister and the oldest among them ordered.

"It’s alright really. Besides, we can’t keep using healing potions over small things like this every time" Caroline argued.

"M’lady, would you want for Aiden to see a single scar on your flawless skin?" Tia, the youngest sister, instantly used the magic words, her expression serious.

The moment those words left her mouth, Caroline meekly shook her head in denial this time and Selina couldn’t help but chuckle as her daughter was eventually forced to listen.

After her treatment was done though, she and her mother freshening up a few minutes later as their maids washed them clean and did all the necessary, both soon made their way out of their luxurious mansion.

Selina was once again, driving Caroline over to the Belmont’s household.

This had pretty much become the young lady and her mother’s routine for the past three weeks and some days.

"So, they’ll be waking up in few days from now right?" her mother questioned.

"That’s what we were told by the Head Dean…" Caroline answered gently, her head resting on the window.

"Well, I hope they really do wake up dear…" Selina reassured her daughter.

’They did thwart an entire dark organizations’ plan again after all… and the questions just keep piling up’ Selina further pondered to herself.

Just like her and many other in their monarchy, they were so curious as to understand how exactly the two brothers sorted out something even the rankers of Flenor’s Tower Branch were unable to do with all their resources and sheer scale of manpower.

Reaching the gates to their mansion a few minutes later, Caroline still couldn’t help but be a tad bit amazed by how vastly different the Belmont’s entire household look like now.

Every part of the mansion was bustling with life as maids, servants and workers moved about, performing their many duties.

Already used to her frequent visits, the maidservants greeted her warmly and Butler Frank along with Anna made their way over once they had also been informed.

Exchanging all the necessary pleasantries, The Duchess soon sighed and said to her daughter-in-law as she liked to refer to her as.

"Caroline dear, please do go speak to Ivelia and Ivar. They’ve been overworking themselves these past few weeks and although I do my best to ensure they get rest when it’s absolutely necessary, they still won’t take it easy at all"

"I’ll try my best to make them see reason" Caroline warmly smiled and then left her mother and the Duchess to catch up on their own discussions.

Making her way into the mansion, the route familiar to her as a lot of the maids kept greeting her respectfully, the ruby-eyed lady soon stood in front of her closest friend and her brother’s laboratory.

Although she had no idea what it was they had been working on for the past three weeks now, especially since alchemy wasn’t her forte, Caroline still understood well enough that the work was really important to them just by the looks of it.

Hearing a bunch of quiet conversations from the other end, she then slowly pushed the door open and entered.
