Extra And MC-Chapter 164 - 160 - Events Of A Long-Forgotten Past III
The moon.
Luminescent, beautifully ethereal and so calming to gaze at for hours on end.
That was what Alyssa was currently staring at as she gently rubbed her baby bump.
"Now now Ken. Stop kicking me" she softly said, her voice travelling through the night’s soothing breeze.
"He’s going to be a pretty playful one. Just like his brother" Zack who was sitting beside his wife said and she chuckled at that.
It had been about three years since they’d been at the sect now and today, they were both at the highest point of a mountain’s ledge, staring at the moon.
"Honey. I think I’d like to go to Earth. Live there…" Alyssa quietly said after a brief moment of silence.
Already understanding where she was going with this, Zack slightly nodded.
"I probably have around five years left here in Arcanora due to mana constantly eating at my life source but on Earth, I might live longer since the repercussions for using ⸨ God’s Eyes ⸩ may lessen, further extending my lifespan…" she continued.
"And it’s also alright if you decide to stick around and help. I won’t be mad. The demons will eventually come back again and will never relent until they’ve completely conquered all the planets"
"Someone needs to be around to help, at least until someone else becomes as powerful as you" she squeezed her husband’s hands.
"But I want to be selfish for once in my life Zack. I want to watch my kids grow up, keep them away from all this. This world and all its craziness really. Earth seems like a great place for that…" Alyssa concluded outwardly but in her mind, her thoughts still went on.
’At least till they’re reincarnated back again, fifteen thousand years from now…’

Having seen everything that was going to happen that far ahead, and even the fate of her two sons, she wanted to at least give them a normal, happy life, knowing fully well they had a pretty bleak future ahead of them.
Pursing his lips, multiple thoughts running through his mind for at least a few minutes, Zack declared with a resolute expression.
"I’m coming with you"
This solicited a genuinely surprised expression from Alyssa but her husband kept speaking.
"We’re in this together dear. I know that there’s more to it than you’re letting on but its fine. I’m going to be selfish too" he smiled and clasped his wife’s palm in his hands.
With a relieved heart, especially since she understood quite well that her husband had a strong sense of responsibility regarding Arcanora and its inhabitants, Alyssa pulled her husband in for a hug.
Gently rubbing her back, he then let out a few more words, his tone playful.
"I mean, we have killed that bastard more than once for this planet. I think we’ve done enough to earn a lifetime vacation with our kids on a foreign planet"
Alyssa burst into laughter at that, wiping a few tears that were brimming on her eyelids as she said.
"Hahaha! Wait till Meryl and Godfrey hear about this!"
"On a more serious note though, I think I’ll pass on all my secrets and powers to Amael and Xavier before we leave. They’re already strong enough to win in a duel against me along with the Valkyries but there’s no harm in making them even stronger" he mused out loud.
"Yeah. That’s a good decision" his wife nodded in agreement.
Suddenly appearing behind them though, along with a twelve-month old baby in arms who kept pulling strongly on his snow-white hair, a sixteen-year old Amael spoke, a bit of disbelief in his tone.
"Finally! I found you guys! Your little rascal seems intent on making me bald so I’d love it if you can take him off my hands! Good lord his grip is insane! Is that even normal?!"
The couple shared another round of laughter again, this time at Amael’s predicament.
However, after a brief moment, Zack sighed and got up to retrieve their son.
"Alright Liam. That’s enough out of you"

Alyssa sat by her desk, the table lamp bright and illuminating in the thick of the night.
The cool midnight breeze was gently blowing through the windows and the curtains were fluttering in response.
A few sirens could be heard in the distance, probably from the cops chasing down a few armed robbers or an ambulance heading out for an emergency.
Already having settled on earth for over three years now, the woman and her husband were so happy with their current lives and if possible, they never wanted it to end.
Living as a normal human was something they had never expected to be so… rewarding… and yet, here they were.
Glancing over to her husband who was soundly sleeping, Alyssa resumed what she had been doing.
Writing a novel.
She had written the first, a book titled ’The Lone Hero’ about a few months back and now, she was writing another titled ’The Lone Swordsman’.
Both were books she wanted to gift to her sons when they were much older but considering that Ken seemed to like videogames more, she was planning to have the first book made into one just for him while handing over the novel to Liam as it was since he seemed to enjoy reading storybooks.
’On their 14th and 15th birthdays respectively, I’ll have it delivered to them, one way or the other…’ Alyssa mused to herself while scribbling down a few more words into the book.
’Liam by the bench at the convenience store and Ken through the videogame store on Zack’s laptop…’
’We won’t even be around by then but they’ll be fine. They’re my kids. They’re strong and they’ll continue to get stronger as they age. I’ll ensure the gifts reaches them somehow…’
Having these thoughts in her head as she kept writing with a pretty bittersweet expression on her features, Alyssa knew that what she was doing was ultimately fruitless.
The future, no matter how much they had tried to change it, seemed adamant on wanting to stay as it was.
Even though she was praying with all her heart that her children would be able to have memories of this life when they eventually got reincarnated by Amael, it was only that.
Wishful thinking and prayers.
’But even still, I’ll do it. Even if it won’t change a thing, I’ll still do it because it’s possible here!’
She actually being able to write about the future, was something she couldn’t even do on Arcanora even if she wanted to because she had tried it several times already.
The words would just erase themselves whenever she did.
If she told someone about the future in Arcanora, time would just reverse itself back to the exact moment before she uttered those words, keeping her in a loop until she didn’t reveal a thing.
It was almost like a punishment of sorts imposed by mana itself.
Those were one of the many repercussions of using ⸨ God’s Eyes ⸩, her authority.
But here, explaining about the future was all possible due to the limited presence of mana to enforce its punishments for breaking the rules... at least to a certain extent.
She still couldn’t actually tell anyone about the future as the words just wouldn’t come out, almost as if something was blocking her throat whenever she tried it.
This was probably the method the little mana which was present in the air tried to impose its own punishment on her but she could still easily circumvent that by writing it down here.
Having explained a few things about the future to Zack through this method, all while also keeping a lot of it to herself for the fear of altering the future too much, (case-in-point, their deaths and their children’s death in this world), Alyssa wanted to give as much advantage to her sons as she could, if eventually, one way or the other, they were able to retain their memories.
So, with that in mind, she was only penning down every major event she felt would be crucial enough for them to fix and possibly have a fighting chance against the Demon King in the far, far future.
That was how the novel and the videogame which the two brothers had so much loved and experienced so many times it almost became part and parcel of their lives, had eventually come to be in their possession.
Also, Alyssa’s decision, had ended up being the right call because eventually, Amael did find a way to reincarnate all his chosen candidates with most of their past memories intact, a bit of deviation from an already etched future.
Her also writing the book and having someone make a game out of the other novel, had also been the right decision too as those choices were what ensured that the future did begin to change once Aiden and Flynn finally entered the picture, fifteen-thousand years into the future.
