Extra And MC-Chapter 199 - 195 - Hold The Line!
A wormhole.
Rapidly vibrating frequencies.
Constantly changing myriad colors.
Updat𝓮d from freewēbnoveℓ.com.
Fleetingly shifting landscapes.
Aiden and Flynn were experiencing all this at an accelerated rate, the sight, reflecting in their irises like a film reel.
Currently, they were inside a Reverse Fissure; a fissure that had proper coordinates to a certain location they wanted to go to, as opposed to naturally-formed fissures which were unpredictable and needed to be studied for a while to know where exactly it’s coordinates were linked to.
But at the same time, Aiden and Flynn, as they stayed suspended within the reverse fissure, were also trying to get out of said reverse fissure to take the fastest route to the Astral Plane.
Considering the Astral Plane was basically the gateway via which every fissure passes through, finding it would be exceptionally hard since it wasn’t a visible dimension.
It’s presence, could be likened to that single fraction of a moment when a person, submerged underwater, bursts right through the surface, only, that usually thin, insignificant line between the surface of water and immediate submersion; that was where it was situated.
However, there were brief moments when the Astral Plane could be caught onto, one where, if, for instance, the shutter speed of a camera was rapidly taking shots of a swimmer, diving into a body of water, an exact moment of that singular thin line, just as the body of said diver hits the surface of the water, could be captured!
And for Beelzebub whom had tried getting through to the plane several times already in person as Xavier had told them, there would definitely be traces of his nether, present in said moment.
This, exactly, was why, instead of picking a dimension to land into, one that ((Fracture)), his authority, which he had built upon by creating and mastering Spatial Shift, Aiden’s intense concentration never wavered as he tightly held onto Beelzebub’s orb of nether energy, even as it rapidly corroded his palm.
This, same reason, was why Xavier had told them, from the day he revealed there was a way to kill off Beelzebub for good, that they could only travel through to the Astral Plane, once he invaded Arcanora.
Because, unfortunately, coming in contact with him, was the fastest way to get to where they needed to go.
And so, as Aiden maintained his unwavering concentration, tightly grasping onto Flynn’s hand with his free palm, he caught that singular moment.
That singular moment, where Beelzebub’s traces of nether energy in his palm, reacted to it.
Without a single fraction of a second wasted, Aiden, instantly used his Authority again and immediately, he and Flynn, disappeared from the reverse fissure.
* * *
The smell of blood filled the air, both from the humans and the other races.
-Kach-!
Heads and limbs were constantly decapitated and blood was spurting everywhere.
-Kach-!!
Blood-soaked weapons clashed and sparks flew about.
-Swching-!!
-Clang-!!!
Destructive spells, weapon arts and abilities, bombarded both sides.
-Kaboom-!!!
The sight on the Frontlines was truly, a gory one to behold as the war went on, shrill screams, fierce battle cries and helpless cries, filled the entire region, despite the differing languages.
"N-N-No! Ahhh!!!"
"(Spare m- Urk…Kah-!!!)"
"For Arcanora!!!"
"(Die puny human!)"
"Someone sav- Arrggghh!!"
"(For the glory of the Demon King!!)"
"Die you fucking bloodsucker!!"
And yet, as all these happened, the war raging on without a care for the alarming body count, there were distinct individuals who needed to be suppressed on both ends!
The Demon Generals were one thing but the humans, especially Xavier, Julius and Arthur, were whittling down the numbers of their enemies with such brutality, even the Generals themselves, stayed away from them to attack the weaker humans.
It would be much better to have them tired and exhausted from all the massacring before they ganged up on them.
Besides, the demons along with the other races knew, that this was only the second wave, an information only they seemingly thought they knew of, one that they were sure would catch the humans unaware.
…
…
…
Evangel, the Vampire King and also one of the Five Demon General, drove his claws, straight into the heart of an SS-tier ranker, instantly siphoning all the blood into his body whilst licking his lips.
Throwing the wilted body onto the pile of other humans that had also met the same fate at his hands, Evangel held his face with an excited expression, his pale, moonlight-kissed skin, flushed.
’(Human blood is the best!)’ he inwardly declared, eyes darting around the battlefield looking for another fresh livestock.
However, considering they numbered in the hundreds of thousands on the expansive, bloodied battlefield, Evangel got even more excited as his breathing got heavier and heavier like a starved dog.
"(Delicious!)" he wiggled around like a creep, only to feel a devastating punch, connect with his jaw, one that sent him gracelessly flying through the skies.
-Thwam-!
At the exact same time, onyx black flames, one that suddenly held him in place, seared through his skin like hot knife through butter as he felt another powerful punch, brutally colliding with his face.
-Bang-!
The impact of the punch, sent him straight to the ground, the speed dizzying.
However, with a graceful mid-air backflip at the last minute, Evangel landed on the ground gently, instantly healing himself as his flesh wiggled around eerily.
Simultaneously, two unlikely figures who would never be seen working together on an average day, landed right before him.
-Thud-!
"Let’s make this quick." Rigurd said, his words cold.
"Don’t tell me what to do." Quinn, who would usually be all creepy on a usual day, instantly bolted forward!
Slightly perplexed by the way his fellow arm was all serious, Rigurd, simultaneously dashed after with a terrifying speed, wondering if Quinn was right in the head.
-Clang-!!
And yet, not even for a second did he lose his concentration as he and Quinn clashed with Evangel who couldn’t be more happy that fresh livestock had delivered themselves on a silver platter to him.
Withstanding both of their attacks with a blood-red, rapier-looking sword which had a few thorny, crimson, lifelike vines that pierced through his arm from its hilt, the demon general, flashed both individuals a wicked, sinister grin.
* * *
It was inevitable that the war that was happening in the Frontlines couldn’t be contained.
As a result, there were a fairly good number of demons, elves, vampires and orcs that made it all the way past the frosty seas from the Frontlines to reach Qilos’s Republic’s shorelines.
"Push back!"
"As the first line of defense, we mustn’t allow them past!"
"Hold the line!"
As if in line with those cries, Blaze, along with Aerith, casted two spells simultaneously!
’[Hydro Series: Torrential Surge]-!’
’[Cryo Series: Absolute Zero]-!’
Instantly, some of their enemies whom had been traversing the seas, watched as a large wave of high rise water, akin to a mini tsunami, arose from the frosty seas to push them back.
-Swooooosh-!!
At the exact same time, the high rise tsunami, froze in an instant, their assailants stuck in temporal stasis and frozen in place by a towering wall of glacial ice!
-Fsssshhhh-!!
’[Wind Series: Galestorm]-!’
’[Sound Series: Reverberation Burst]-!’
No sooner had Derek and Sophia casted those particular spells, an instant gale storm, along with a powerful outburst of a sound frequency, undetectable to the naked ears of even superhumans themselves, cascaded in a powerful outburst from their beings!
Without even giving them time to break out of the icy entrapment, both attacks, collided with the towering glacial prison in such brutal fashion, every single creature in it, shattered into tiny little pieces.
-BAAAM-!!!
Like hailstones, red, bloody icicles and crimson cubes of ice dotted the skies, dropping across the expanse of the frosty seas and Qilos’s Republic’s shorelines!
And yet, despite such a devastating combo of attacks, a bunch of upper-tiered demons, all of whom had made it their mission to break through the human’s first line of defense, easily evaded the attacks as they flew across the sky.
Noticing this, Caroline, Blaze, Ivelia and Ivar, erected, in simultaneous fashion, towering walls of thick, rosy, almost sentient vines, tungsten-metallic structures and sturdy earthen walls!
-Thruukk-!!
-Krrrang-!!
-Grrrkkk-!!
Barricading the shores itself from the city, there were now two lines of defense!
One for preventing the flight of their airborne enemies and the other, for those coming by sea or land.
That said, this was only a temporary solution and they all knew it.
Despite they along with the other rankers pushing back their enemies, their numbers were rapidly increasing by the second as more and more of them, made their way over from the Frontlines.
But still, for now, they were doing a good job of whittling down their numbers as best as they could before the first line of defense broke.
At the same time, things were still going more or less according to the battle tactics they had planned out.
"That’s the cue of the archers!"
"Get in position atop the towering structures!"
No sooner were those orders barked by the generals in charge, multiple rankers, all of whom specialized in archery, took their vantage positions atop the towering structures and began to rain a hail of arrow-based spells.
-Swish-! Swish-!! Swish-!!!
"Cavalry! Attack! Exterminate the airborne enemies!"
No sooner was another order barked, rankers who could use flight spells, took to the skies, killing off any enemies in their path.
Adrian and Beatrice especially, along with Tanya, who could use [Wave Series] just like her grandfather Julius, the Tower executive, were racking up an insane kill count.
’[Azure Series: Hell’s Kiss]-!’
’[Wave Series: Spectrum Discharge]-!’
Like a scene straight from hell, the blue flames of the two individuals, extended like a wisp of thread, instantly burning up any enemy in its path till nothing except ashes was left.
As for the Tanya’s attacks, although it wasn’t obvious at first and neither was it visible, it would kick in about a few seconds later, as the poisonous rays from her invisible attack, rapidly caused her assailants to wilt and shrivel like dead plants.
"Infantry! Defend the shorelines with your life! For Arcadia!"
As another order boomed across the expanse of the shorelines, the rest of the youths, along with other powerful rankers, dealt with the rest of the enemies that slipped past the combo attacks of the young rankers.
"[Lightning Series: Thunderbolt Flash]-!"
Instantly, a group of vampires, felt their hearts pierced through in an instant, the electricity left behind Lucas’ wake, frying up their blood completely.
Soon, he became the enemy for most vampires on the shoreline’s battlefield, all of whom made him their target due to how he basically left them dead before they could even retaliate.
"[Nova Series: Haze]-!"
The same amount of attention, was also given to Amelia and Bryan, both of whom would instantly appear and disappear like a stream of light particles, their enemies dead before they even figured out how they died.
As this onslaught continued on, the rankers on the shorelines doing their best to hold the line even as some of their own died, Astaroth, who was on the Frontlines, soon realized this from far away.
Instantly, the elven general dashed towards the shorelines, hell-bent on destroying the human’s races’ first line of defense.
