Extra And MC-Chapter 210 - 206 - A Journey’s End
A week had passed by since the victorious war against the Demon King’s army.
Following the exact day after that, a United Memorial Mass had been held by all Five Nations.
The Frontlines, the vast expanse of land where the war had occurred, had also being the place which had been used to bury and pay respects to the hundreds of thousands of dead rankers whom had died in the war.
The land, despite how barren it had previously been, was transformed once again, but this time, not by Xavier’s, but by Amael’s hands.
It was now a vast, evergreen, grassy plain, one that stretched on for miles upon miles on end.
Trees towered all over, all of them perfectly lined up in a way the spread out as canopies over the vast terrain of the land, serving as shade for the multitude of headstones that had now populated its expanse.
Truly, it had become a beautiful place, one befitting of valiant rankers who fought till the end for Arcanora.
In addition to that, all Five Nations had also come to the agreement, that a Requiem Mass would be held annually, every year at the exact same date, a decision the general public had been strongly in support of.
That said, life, goes on.
Within a few days after that, each Nation was back to their respective mundane problems and everyone, was back to their respective, daily lives.
Sure there was still a bit of fear as to whether there would be another invasion but, considering how, not a single fissure had opened up again, ever since the war had ended, a certain sense of peace, reigned across Arcanora.
The Dark Organizations whose members had survived the war, were also allowed to roam about on patrol, each and every one of them, monitored like the prey of a hawk by rankers of the Tower.
As for Arcadia though, The Ducal Families Festival was literally just around the corner and King Arthur wanted for it, to be the biggest till date in the history of their Nation.
Considering how gloomy things had been for the entirety of the past month, he wanted that sense of unbridled liveliness, one that Arcadia was known for, to return back to their Nation.
Sure it wouldn’t be easy to completely forget everything that had happened and the losses they had incurred but still, they at least had to try.
And so, having decided which Ducal Family was going to host it this year, the responsibility, fell on the head of The Belmonts.
Considering the event had such a rich history, one that celebrated all the milestones that Arcadia as a whole, along with individual achievements that various nobles had achieved over the years, it was a very, important event.
The Belmont Household themselves, especially Aiden and Flynn, along the twins, were going to be receiving medals, awards and whatnots so, it was necessary that the festival was perfect.
As such, despite being the wee hours of the morning, 5am to be precise, their entire manor, down to almost every nook and cranny of their expansive, sprawling lands, was filled to the brim with maids and maid-servants, workers, event-planners… just to name a few.
Each staff or worker, diligently performed their tasks to ensure that everything was perfect for the occasion which would be taking place later today.
The grounds itself where the main festivities were going to be held, was littered with banners, flags and tapestries, each bearing Arcadia’s crest; A Dragon coiling around a majestic castle whilst breathing flames.
The kitchens were also packed, chefs and their assistants, working tirelessly to craft the most elaborate and sumptuous dishes.
The gardens and the courtyards, were meticulously tended to, the gardeners, trimming hedges and arranging flowers while the florists, weaved garlands and various seasonal bouquets of flowers, one that served to add more to the festive atmosphere.
Multiple stalls were also set up along the vast, sprawling grounds of the estate, all of which were yet to be occupied by those whom had reserved the spots.
The members of The Belmont Household themselves, now they, were just as busy as their workers.
Leopold and Anna, Aiden and Flynn, along with Ivelia and Ivar, were deeply involved in overseeing the arrangements, ensuring that every, blessed, thing, was done to perfection.
Simply put, there was a sense of urgency as everyone attended to their various duties, all of which was mixed with a strong feel of anticipation and excitement that permeated through every part of the household.
"Has anyone reserved stall 106?"
"This part of the garden needs more garlands!"
"What about the vinegar? The kitchen’s running out of it?!"
That said, as all this was happening, it wasn’t as if there weren’t some slackers here and there.
Their gang of friends, although had wanted to help out by coming way earlier than they should’ve, were currently at their wits end with a certain, young girl.
Derek, being the lover of mischief that he was, had casually cajoled the rest of the boys; Adrian, Lucas and Bryan, along with Blaze and Luke, to play a certain brawler game with him, one where he had ensured that Briar was around to join them in.
The result of that; not a single win against the young girl whose eyes were gleaming with mischief as she high-fived Derek.
It was obvious, just from the way they were interacting, that this was a trap they had set for them and a sense of deja-vu, set in for Bryan who just covered his face in shame.
As for the rest of the boys, unable to handle their losses against the young girl, shamelessly took their turns against her, only to meet the same fate.
At some point, it felt like their spirits had been shattered, all except for Blaze and Luke, both of whom simply shook their heads in acceptance.
As for the ladies, they were being quite helpful in their own right as they followed Ivelia around, helping wherever they could as the lady ticked off a few things from her planner.
Caroline, Beatrice, Amelia, Sophia, Maya, Aerith and Tanya; each and every one of them were at least helping out with rearranging a few misarranged stuffs, getting necessary equipment to workers who urgently needed them, taste-testing dishes from the cooks and just being handy little helpers overall.
Still, when they passed by the small living room, one where the boys were at, they couldn’t help but check in, only to burst into laughter as Briar, currently pat the boys on their dejected heads with her dainty hands.
Derek on the other hand, was laughing his ass out, reeling in pain as he held onto his ribs.
And yet, just past the couch, by the window side he was sitting on, the attention of a few individuals, caught the attention of both the ladies and the guys in the room.
The Valkyries had arrived, each and every single one of them, carrying what seemed to be stacked crates of drinks and necessary supplies in their hands effortlessly.

To that, both parties, male and female, headed out to help out with moving about the crates, placing them in strategic places across the sprawling lands of the mansion which was still being prepped for the festival.
Briar too, having being taught how to fly, headed out, her medium-sized wings, carrying her soaring through the air as she gazed at the colorful, festive grounds below.
It was slowly getting brighter in the morning and the sun was almost out of the horizon, casting a warm, peaceful, golden glow across everything in sight.
To everyone who noticed Briar soaring through the skies though, both from family and friends, down to the maids and workers, each and every one of them, warned her to be careful, one to which the young Valkyrie responded that she would.
But, still, for the most part, they knew she’d be fine.
And so, as Briar soared through the skies, her eyes soon landed individually on her two uncles, along with Novier, all of whom were busy helping a few workers, set up a giant tent.
Waving over at her once they felt her presence within vicinity, Amael, Xavier and Novier, had warm smiles gracing their faces as they did, the young girl, reciprocating the gesture with a bright smile of her own.
Soaring through the skies for a few more seconds, Briar soon spotted, two familiar figures, both of whom were monitoring some workers as they set up a bunch of tables, all of which housed intricately-designed, various-colored, floating lanterns that were yet to be lit up.
"Brother Aiden! Brother Flynn!" Briar soon called out to them, causing the youths to gaze up at her.
Glancing over to each other for a brief second with the warmest of smiles, knowing fully well that she wouldn’t refuse what they were about to offer, they both reciprocated and then called out to her whilst asking;
"Hey baby sister! Do you wanna light up a lantern?!"
"Yes!" Briar instantly replied in the affirmative, zooming downwards through the air, straight towards the youth with an excited grin on her young features.
