"Sunday was weird!" Aiden declared in the late morning classroom full of cadets.

The only people hearing his declaration though were Caroline, Adrian and Ivar who were seated in the same long chair as he was.

"You’re just realizing?" Ivar sarcastically asked.

"Monday was even weirder!" he declared once again, a beaming smile on his face.

"Again, are you just realizing that?!" Adrian was the one to respond this time with a deadpan expression.

"The last two days have been freaking weird!!!" he declared even louder this time, startling a few of the cadets in the class who were having conversations of their own.

"And I still wonder how we even managed to get by?!" Aiden stated, completely enamored by the state of liveliness he was in.

-Sigh…

"Well, I think we can all agree that we much prefer the bubbly state you’re currently in anyway" Adrian replied with a sigh this time.

"I’m gonna miss seeing you like that though…" Caroline spoke with a light-hearted chuckle of her own.

"Wait a minute… now that I think about it? Where exactly did I sleep off at yesterday?" Aiden asked the lady, a thoughtful expression gracing his features as he inwardly spoke.

’If I’m being honest, everything since Sunday feels hazy. I can only remember a few tidbits here and there…’

"I think it’s best if you witnessed it for yourself Aiden" Caroline replied with a mischievous giggle.

Upon retrieving her smartphone again, Aiden couldn’t help but arch his eyebrows in surprise.

Smartphones were literally close to being relics in this world but before he could get curious about why she had one, the ruby-eyed lady had shown him the picture of the last place they had found him sleeping at.

Aiden himself couldn’t help but laugh as he watched the weird state in which he slept in, soliciting a few other small laughter’s from Adrian and Ivar who had leaned in to check the picture.

After a few seconds though, Aiden let a very small yet narcissistic thought slip through his mouth, his words barely above a mutter.

"Damn. I even look good when I’m hunched up like a lazy panda on a tree branch. Super impressive…"

Adrian and Ivar, seemingly used to him spouting words like this at opportune moments like this, just rolled their eyes and let him be.

Caroline on the other hand chipped in, her words completely genuine without even a hint of playfulness.

"I know right. You have such a perfect looking face…"

"Why thank you Caroline! You’re just as beautiful too" Aiden said to her with a charming grin.

He then angled his gaze over to the two male youths on his other side, completely missing Caroline’s blushing red cheeks while speaking to them.

"Well at least someone gets it!"

"Let her keep feeding your ego man/Aiden" Ivar and Adrian had simultaneously replied with a sarcastic scoff.

Just above the four youths were seated Flynn, Ivelia, Bryan, Beatrice, Amelia, Lucas and Ben, along with other cadets on the slightly elevated long chairs behind them, each having conversations of their own with the people closest to them.

"You finally found a way to make the freezing potions work?" Flynn asked Ivelia, his hands propping his face sideways.

"No. Still need a particular plant that has a bit of water-attributed mana" the lady responded, her fingers placed on her chin and a thoughtful expression on her face.

"How about Lakelight Blossoms?" Flynn casually asked and the moment he did, Ivelia’s eyes widened, almost as if she had an epiphany.

"Yes! Lakelight Blossoms! Of course! Why didn’t I think of that?!" she face-palmed, a wave of eureka washing over her beautiful face.

After recovering from her epiphany, the lady then turned her gaze to Flynn and asked;

"How did you know that Lakelight Blossoms that would do the trick?"

"I didn’t" he responded truthfully, after which he then continued.

"Just wondered if it would be of help since we found it growing near a lake"

"Well, your theory was on point Flynn" she replied with a grateful smile but as if coming to a realization, she asked again.

" ’We?’ You and Aiden? "

"Yeah. We found it on the day I almost kissed you at the cafeteria. Took a quest relati-" Flynn suddenly stopped mid-speech and then had his lips curl into a genuinely amused smile.

"Oh? You’re still getting beet red from that?" Flynn playfully said to Ivelia who was currently blushing, after which he then angled his gaze a bit downwards while staring at her rosy plump lips.

"Maybe I really should kiss you…" he teasingly said with an even more amused smile, his hands still propping his face sideways.

Unknown to Flynn and Ivelia though, from the moment he had uttered the words regarding the incident at the cafeteria, most of the ladies around him, Caroline and Beatrice included, had significantly lowered their own conversations to listen to Flynn and Ivelia’s.

The moment they heard him speak about actually possibly kissing her, a lot of them had inwardly squealed, almost as if viewing a live-action romantic drama most of them had watched several times over.

"Wha-?!"

Those were the only words of speech Ivelia could utter in complete and utter bewilderment as Flynn kept gazing at her mischievously but her thoughts were screaming about something else.

’How can you say something that dangerous to me with that freakishly handsome face of yours!’

The lady had realized for quite a while now, that from the moment she had subtly urged him to up his game way back at the lakeside in their family’s mansion, he had definitely taking her words into consideration.

Now he was actually flirting with her regardless of time and place, completely disregarding everyone as if they weren’t even there.

Before Ivelia could actually reply properly to his words though, the doors to their classroom opened and in walked in their instructor for their third class today.

The instructor in question had waist long purple hair, along with similar purple eyes that contained a lot of warmness hidden beneath.

Her lithe figure also could not be overlooked despite her being dressed in a relatively simple yet formal black gown.

Her name was Cordelia Violet, instructor in charge of ⸢Mana Studies⸥ and she was by far, one of the most beloved instructors by all the first year cadets.

"Good Morning Miss. Cordelia" the whole class greeted respectfully but even then, the voices of the boys far outstripped those of the girls.

"Good Morning Lovelies" she warmly replied to their greetings, after which she then asked.

"Trust you all had a good night’s rest?"

"Yes we did Miss. Cordelia!"

Once again, the voices of the male cadets, completely buried those of the females.

"Good good!" she warmly responded with a light clasp of her hands.

"Now, without further ado, let’s begin today’s classes" she gently began.

"I will like to tell you though; today’s classes may be a tad bit painful for a lot of you" she gestured with her fingers.

"We can handle it ma’am!" the boys answered again with motivated grins.

’Just how much do they like her?!’ Aiden couldn’t help but inwardly chuckle, knowing fully well the pain most of them would be experiencing in the next few minutes.

"Alright then. Today’s class will be focused on explaining ⸢Mana Sense⸥" she calmly began to explain.

"As you may all know; mana sense is a phenomenon that only a fair few are blessed with mastering and also proficiently able to use…"

This explanation of hers went on for a few more minutes but at some point, she gradually concluded with her explanation with the intent of asking her attentive cadets a question.

"So, by increasing your sensitivity of mana to its utmost peak, an individual is given the ability to see the world from a completely different perspective…"

"Anyone have any idea how the view of someone able to use mana sense usually views the world when they activate it?" she suddenly threw a pop-quiz question at the cadets who were listening.

"Yes Kyle?" she gestured to a male cadet raising his hands.

"Like a mosaic of colors?" he eagerly responded.

"You’re on the right track but it could still be better. Thank you for your input Kyle. You may sit down" she gently said to the cadet who was now beaming even more despite not completely getting the question right.

"You seem pretty confident Ivar? Would you like to answer the question?" Cordelia asked the youth who had a confident smile on his face despite not raising his hands.

"Ah yes" Ivar got up while responding as he added.

"It looks like a fresh acrylic painting" he answered confidently, remembering how Aiden and Flynn had described how they perceived the world when they activated it.

Cordelia was a bit taken aback by his sudden response but after a split second, she responded with an impressed smile.

"Excellent answer Ivar! That’s perfect! Thank you! Do take your seat again please" she said with a gentle smile while gesturing with her hands.

Ivar gave a slight nod and proceeded to sit down but as he did, he felt a wave of chills running up his spine and a few piercing stares at the back of his head.

’Are you guys seriously that petty about me answering her question and being praised?!’ he inwardly questioned with a small internal shout.

"That being said though, a lot of people tend to forget that mana sense isn’t only limited to the gifted or talented" Miss Cordelia began again.

"Even people who are not able to use it proficiently, can still use it, even if only slightly"

"Which is why…" the instructor snapped her fingers as she trailed off and immediately, small pinballs appeared out of small, spatial, violet-colored and irregularly-shaped holes above each cadet’s spot on the table, an aftereffect of Instructor Cordelia’s [Spatial Series].

As the slightly heavy pinballs weighing about 2.5kg each landed on their tables with fairly loud thuds, a lot of the cadets gulped in fear.

"Since the way mana sense works is akin to how effectively one is able converse with mana in the air, let’s take it a bit slow" she began explaining again.

"In each of this pinball is a compressed air of mana. I had the magic engineering department specifically whip this up for me"

"All you need to do for now, is to completely concentrate on the mana in the ball with unwavering attention"

"It will gently levitate if you have your concentration unhindered as you do so but-"

-Tang!

"Arggh!"

A cadet found himself reeling in pain from the impact of the pinball smacking into his head.

-Sigh…

"You should’ve calmed down and listened to me Luke" Instructor Cordelia began to lightly scold the cadet with a small sigh.

"So..rry Miss. Cordelia" the male cadet responded in between a slight groan of pain.

"No offense taken. Be careful next time and listen before jumping headfirst into things okay?" she calmly advised him, after which she then proceeded to pick up from where she previously stopped.

"Back to where I was. I was about to explain how if your concentration wavered for just a few seconds, the mana in the ball would go a bit haywire, resulting in them hitting you or any other thing in your vicinity"

The moment she said this, almost every cadet gulped again, glancing over to give themselves wary looks.

"However, if you’re able to maintain concentration while accessing the mana in the orb, it would make conversing with the mana in the air a tad bit easier when the time for you to actually commence with your mana sense training begins"

-Ding Dong!

"Oh wow! Time sure does fly fast!" Miss. Cordelia gently exclaimed.

"Well then, if that’s the case, let’s do it like this before I take my leave" she said with a thoughtful expression on her face, her hands gently placed on her chin.

"If by the next class, you’re able to maintain your individual pinball for five minutes each, I’ll give each capable cadet 500CR" she proposed to her students with one of her fingers raised, a small smile now adorning her beautiful facial features.

The cadets upon hearing this, became immensely motivated to gain control over the pinballs and gratefully gave their goodbyes to Instructor Cordelia as she left the class.

What followed in their recess period however, was pure chaos!

The pinballs flew all around, hitting cadets like a pool player’s trick-shots, sometimes even drawing blood from their beings but even then, most of them, especially the male cadets stayed utterly relentless, wanting to earn the praise of their soft-spoken instructor.

Flynn however, as if already expecting all this, had just spread his [Force Field] spell around he and his friends in an irregularly shaped mana the moment their recess period began, all while thinking to himself.

"No pain, no gain huh. This current scenario probably has to be one of the best examples for it"

-Sigh…

Following his sigh, Flynn just took in the haphazard sight of their so-called and oh-so-amazing A-class, the minutes of the recess period whiling away.

Soon enough though, the time for their sparring sessions came and every cadet from A-class to D-class, changed into their training outfits and then, proceeded to move into Ophelis Hall.

The hall was a modern gargantuan structure with multiple wide, individual granite-plated platforms, each protected by transparent-white pulsing domes.

Multiple instructors were also present, each standing by a platform, all in an effort to ensure that even if the cadets were about to use destructive weapon arts or magic against themselves, they could directly interfere within a split second.

Every cadet upon seeing this, searched for a sparring partner who was willing to go up against them and just like that, Aiden and Flynn who were oddly energetic today, soon found themselves staring at each other, excited smiles on their faces as Darius, the instructor in charge of their platform, stood by.
