Extra Demon: Sacred Academy of Light-Chapter 169: Noemi
The porcelain hand moved slowly up and down. A white line began to appear, finally splitting open.
Boom!
The world started to shake; the skies seemed about to fall. The sky blue completely faded away, and from the highest point, a dark starry expanse began to descend, covering everything around. Space rippled as much as it could while distorting. A white fire appeared, and from it, a halo of rings full of eyes emerged out of nowhere. The hundreds of rings, completely surrounded by eyes, sometimes spun fast, other times slow. In the center of it all was a huge eye of a pale blue color...
The guardians of the dimension, granted by God, finally made their appearance.
The throne at the highest point of the world was silent for a few moments; its hundreds of eyes fixed downward...
—Ice Seraph.—Seraph of Speech.—Sin of Pride.—Sin of Envy.—Sin of Greed.—Cain, progenitor vampire.—Guardian of the Abyss.
The voice of the throne had the tone of a little girl, but it was full of authority. Her words caused the white line threatening to open completely to be covered by chains that forcibly closed it. The porcelain hand offered no visible resistance; it simply opened and moved slowly from left to right, as if bidding farewell to Elizabeth and Emilia. The enormous crack, which gave a small glimpse into the abyss, was filled with chains that sealed it completely...
—Throne of the Seven Seals —Emilia spoke coldly as she looked at the throne in the sky. Her brow furrowed deeply, and a freezing aura violently began to spread. Her strength was much more terrible when she fought with pride...
—You can't do anything reckless —Elizabeth clicked her tongue softly as she glanced at the throne for a moment, then turned to Emilia—. You've already caused enough trouble —she said, trying to use her own mana to temper Emilia's coldness.
The throne completely ignored Emilia's words; its eyes focused on the four intruders.
—You cannot be in this dimension —the girl's voice was utterly indifferent.
Greed stroked his chin and pointed at Emilia.
—She possesses a fragment of the rune of life —his smile widened...
The throne remained silent while its other eyes quickly fixed on Emilia.
—Is it true? —her voice was no longer as indifferent as before.
Emilia stared at Greed as if ready to kill him at any moment, before letting out a deep sigh.
—It's true —she nodded, taking out the box and removing the seal. At that moment, the box shook violently, trying to escape...
—You, out —the girl's voice gained power. Millions of chains tore through space, while others fiercely imprisoned Greed, Pride, Envy, and Cain, mercilessly dragging them into hell.
Greed did not stop smiling as he looked at the fragment of the rune of life. In his last moments, he glanced briefly at Emilia:
—Nothing can enter or leave the abyss, right? But that's not entirely true. Everything can enter and leave the abyss. You yourself said it: only a power equivalent to a ten-winged seraph can do it. I wonder what method Lilith used to enter...
Greed fell silent for a few moments, and his monocle glowed faintly.
—Could she have reached that state by speaking directly with Lucifer in the abyss?
With that last question, his body disappeared completely.
Emilia looked at him silently...
Envy writhed like a serpent as he tried to break the chains around his body. He clenched his teeth tightly and looked at the throne high in the sky with murderous eyes. After opening his mouth and uttering a few silent words, he smiled again before disappearing completely.
—You're calmer than I expected —Emilia raised an eyebrow and looked at Pride, who was strangely silent as he let himself be dragged by the chains.
—Are you joking? —he smirked mockingly and clenched his fist—. I want to die right now, but I can't do anything else —he shrugged and looked upward—. I'm not stupid enough to break these weak chains that imprison me. Only with their presence, I'm completely sure Seraphine won't be long in appearing —he smiled peacefully.
—Are you proud of that? —Elizabeth put her hands on her hips with a mocking smile.
—Of course I am. Dying for nothing isn't fun, especially knowing I'll be revived again in my domains. Pride isn't dying foolishly; pride is also living. On the other hand... —he looked at the chains around his body—. Seriously?
Elizabeth sighed.
—It's more complicated for us. In fact, they're indestructible. A rather irritating concept.
—Hehehe —Pride laughed as he raised his chin, then finally disappeared completely.
Finally, Cain remained silent. His red eyes never stopped looking at Elizabeth. She, in turn, simply raised her hand as if bidding farewell to an old friend...
The dark starry expanse also disappeared, and the blue tone of the sky returned. The cracks around it closed again thanks to the throne's chains, and everything seemed to return to normal. The gigantic throne descended while shrinking faster and faster. Finally, it settled in front of Elizabeth and Emilia. A golden light completely covered it, and from it appeared a girl who looked no older than ten years.
The little girl smoothed a bit the ebony hair falling down her back. Behind her, her golden eyes shone like tiny stars. She pursed her lips while looking at the seraphim; especially, she looked more at Emilia.
—I'm not going to ask why you decided to open a crack into the abyss. Likewise, I won't ask too many questions. But... —the girl looked at the wooden box and pointed at it—. Why isn't that fragment in the heavens?
The girl put her hands on her hips while sounding serious...
—Noemi, let me handle this matter —a female voice came from behind the girl.
Without turning around, she said:
—First Seraph, what do you mean?
Seraphine smiled tenderly while affectionately stroking the little girl's head.
—Come now, don't be so serious. I'll take care of it.
The girl shook her head and turned around. With a serious look, she regarded Seraphine suspiciously.
—Are you going to trick me again? —she sighed to herself, her gaze moving elsewhere—. You're going to give it to him, aren't you? —she asked.
—Of course. It's the easiest and simplest method —Seraphine nodded.
Noemi remained silent for a few moments...
—It's the most feasible method. But for them, it is too.
After saying these words, her figure slowly disappeared.
