Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 232: As long as I breathe, no harm will reach her without going through me
The ducal manor still bore the recent marks of the attacks, for even it had eventually suffered from the rift’s rupture. The outer walls had been hastily reinforced, some windows replaced with temporary panels. However, despite the damage, organization here remained impeccable.
Upon his arrival, the guards at the entrance immediately straightened.
"Lord Predator."
They bowed deeply without waiting for any instruction.
Kaiser crossed the gates.
Inside, the butler greeted him in the main hall.
He bowed with a respect that was in no way forced.
"Lord The Predator, His Excellency awaits you in his study. Allow me to guide you."
Kaiser gave a slight nod.
As they crossed the corridors, he noticed the staff’s gazes. No fear, on the contrary, a mixture of gratitude and relief.
He now held considerable influence here.
He was no longer seen as a mere criminal who carried out summary executions.
He had become a pillar of the duchy when it lay in ruins.
The butler opened the door to the duke’s study.
"Your Excellency, Lord The Predator has arrived."
Duke Valerius rose immediately from his seat.
"Good... Leave us."
The door closed.
The duke gestured to a chair opposite him.
"Please, have a seat. Would you like anything? Tea? Wine?"
Kaiser remained standing for a few seconds before sitting down calmly.
"None of that."
The duke observed his mask for a moment, then took a deep breath.
"I wanted to thank you personally. During the rift rupture... without your intervention, our duchy would have been overwhelmed. I greatly underestimated the danger."
He paused.
"And also for the reconstruction funds."
His gaze grew more serious.
"The damage is colossal. The duchy’s reserves were almost entirely mobilized to contain the invasion. If you had not funded the works, I would have had no choice but to sell our strategic resources to the Hornraven or to a legendary family."
He clenched his jaw slightly.
"And that would have meant losing our economic independence for decades."
"You did not need to thank me so much, Duke..."
The duke continued:
"Yet you took charge of everything. Without any apparent compensation."
The Predator slowly shook his head.
"It is not free. You had already paid me, by taking care of her since she was little; that is the greatest gift."
The duke froze.
Silence settled between them.
He slightly averted his gaze, visibly moved.
"Scarlet..."
His voice became lower.
"That was one of the things I wanted to talk to you about."
He straightened.
"I also thank you for saving her that day. However... since that incident, she has become... How shall I say... Quite different."
His gaze clouded slightly.
"I do not want to lose my daughter. You know she has already experienced trauma; she was kidnapped by bandits in her youth, that is how her mother died... In short, I am quite afraid that..."
Kaiser rose calmly and placed a firm hand on the duke’s shoulder.
"You have nothing to fear, Duke... She has been chosen by Nostradamus. The Prophet never gives burdens one cannot bear... She will only do her duty, and I will do mine as Nostradamus’s blade: to serve her."
The duke held his gaze behind the mask.
"I see..."
He sighed.
"But I do not want to put pressure on her. She remains my daughter above all."
He hesitated for a moment before adding:
"And this Nostradamus... Sorry if I am skeptical, but he is not a demon at least?"
A light laugh escaped from under the mask.
"You should read the Prophecies of Nostradamus, Duke. I am certain it would open your eyes to some of the doubts you had."
The duke sketched a tired smile.
"I believe I will."
A short silence followed, more peaceful.
Then Kaiser asked:
"With that said, where can I meet her?"
The duke answered immediately:
"She is at the parish. You know, she has been extremely busy lately."
He added with a hint of pride:
"She insists on helping the wounded herself and organizing the distribution of supplies. Despite everything that has happened... she barely rests."
Kaiser nodded.
"Then I will go join her."
The duke rose in turn.
"Lord The Predator..."
Kaiser stopped near the door.
"Yes?"
The duke looked at him with sincerity.
"No matter what the future holds for my daughter... I trust you to watch over her."
A brief silence.
Then The Predator replied calmly:
"As long as I breathe, no harm will reach her without going through me."
He left the study without turning back.
In the corridor, the staff bowed again as he passed.
The duke remained alone in his study.
For the first time since the catastrophe, he felt a little relieved.

After the awakening of her demonic mana, The Predator helped Scarlet emerge from her demonic phase, gently bringing her back to herself, and afterward she quickly noticed that her ability had increased exponentially, a new warmth pulsing in her palms.
While wanting to heal some civilians’ wounds, she saw that she could completely neutralize their illnesses and even the morbidities they had from birth... She was shocked, and quickly this took on such a great dimension that it spread throughout the entire empire. After all, only expensive potions could heal wounds, and birth morbidities were considered a fatality. Blind people, those who had never known how to walk or who lacked an arm, she repaired them in just a few minutes, as if she were recreating nature’s perfect work.
People came from all walks of life to see her, forming endless lines... In reality, her power was not healing, but truly corruption...
Scarlet had awakened the full potential in her modified DNA. She could now absorb all diseases, corruptions, and morbidities into sorts of runes that appeared on her body when she used her ability, and when she was in her demonic version, she could give all that accumulated disease, corruption, and toxicity to others, like an inverted curse.
Thus, as long as death remained constantly balanced beside her, she could give life to those she deemed worthy and take life from the impious with a simple touch.
