Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch-Chapter 65: Why Did She Beat Him?
Next day.
BOOM!
A figure shot through the training facility, colliding against the nearby wall.
All the students turned their gaze toward the scene, stopping their practice and staring at it. They were students of another class.
Currently, it was a combat arts class, and it was also being taught by their head instructor, Morgana. She had already given a long lecture on the topic of combat, then asked everyone to take laps around the ground.
So, the students of Noah’s class were running around the ground. She had instructed them to run a hundred laps.
Since the huge training facility hall was open at one end and attached to the vast ground outside, everything was visible from both sides.
But Damien was an exception.
Being her disciple, she had stopped him from running laps. Instead, she personally decided to train him.
At first, Noah, who was running on the ground, felt extremely jealous of Damien.
Getting special treatment from a beauty like Morgana.
Having such an amazing woman as a master.
While he and the others were running under the blazing sunlight.
He had even muttered under his breath, "Lucky bastard."
But his thoughts soon changed.
BOOM!
Because even while running, he could hear the constant sounds of explosions and heavy impacts from inside the hall.
Inside, Damien was getting beaten badly.
Noah could not tell if it was training or just torture.
He was currently on his 40th lap, already tired from running, though it was still bearable.
All this time, his eyes kept drifting toward the hall, watching Morgana beat Damien mercilessly.
Now Damien sat leaning against the wall, breathing heavily. His cheeks were bruised, and blood leaked from his broken lips.
"Haff... haff..." Noah was running hard. His breathing was heavy as he gasped for air. Running a hundred laps was no easy task. Sweat dripped over his body.
"Noah Eldritch! Stop running and come here!"
A loud, authoritative voice echoed from the hall.
Noah flinched.
’What the heck? Why is she calling me?’ Noah thought, worry creeping into his mind.
Beside him, Arisha spoke with a calm, indifferent expression, "Hmm... it seems like you stared at her too much. Now go and pay for it."
Her long violet hair, tied in a high ponytail, bounced with each step as she ran.
Unlike Noah, she had likely already completed more than fifty laps and had caught up to him.
Noah clicked his tongue in irritation and muttered, "Tch! I did not stare this time."
He moved away from the group of students.
Sweat clung to his skin. He was wearing a white and red t-shirt along with red pants, their training uniform.
’What could be the reason...’
Noah walked into the hall from the open side, stepping out of the harsh sunlight.
His hand ran through his snow-white hair, which was wet with sweat.
Inside, Morgana Celestine stood with her usual cold and strict expression, her arms crossed under her chest.
She was standing on the sparring platform.
Today, she was dressed more casually, dark blue tight pants that clung to her thick thighs, and a maroon long-sleeve t-shirt.
Her hair was tied in a bun.
Her sharp eyes locked onto Noah the moment he entered.
Noah straightened slightly and spoke respectfully, "Instructor... you called me. Was there something you wanted to tell me?"
Morgana looked at him with an unreadable expression and said coldly, "Noah... you were looking here many times while doing laps, while I was training Damien. Want to join?"
Noah blinked a few times, then quickly shook his head in denial. There was no desire to get trained by her. He had already seen her way of teaching, and that was enough for him to stay away from her.
With an awkward smile, he replied, "No! There is no need for that, Instructor. I do not want to bother you. I am alright with the training I am doing currently—"
He stopped mid-sentence.
Her voice cut through his words sharply.
"Take out your weapon and attack me."
Her tone left no room for refusal. She was not going to listen.
Noah gulped down his saliva. He was already tired from running, and now she was asking for a spar.
He took out his spear from his storage ring.
With slight hesitation, he said, "Okay..."
Morgana looked at him calmly and said, "Attack me with whatever you want. Whatever you have."
Noah stepped onto the sparring platform where she stood at the opposite end.
He exhaled slowly.
’Well... I guess there is no escaping this.’
He tightened his grip on the spear.
Mana began to flow through his body.
A faint layer of energy wrapped around the spear, strengthening its blade.
At the same time, he reinforced his legs and arms.
His stance lowered.
Then
BOOM!
With a powerful kick against the ground, Noah shot forward.
His eyes were filled with determination.
As he dashed ahead, two swords made of ice formed beside him, floating slightly behind his shoulders.
The temperature around him dropped slightly.
He thrust the spear forward with full force.
At the same moment.
[Frost Bind]
A magic circle formed as ice surged beneath Morgana’s feet, instantly freezing her legs in place.
Everything happened in a single moment.
Yet she did not move, as if it meant nothing to her.
Morgana stood there calmly.
The spear tip rushed toward her face.
And it was stopped very easily.
Between her index finger and thumb.
She held the tip of the spear effortlessly.
Noah’s eyes widened slightly. ’What the hell?’
At the same time, her free hand moved.
It was so fast that Noah could not even see it.
CRACK! CRACK!
Both ice swords shattered instantly before even reaching her.
Fragments of ice scattered across the platform.
Now there was silence as Noah remained standing there, surprised.
Noah stood there, still holding the spear, a faint smile appearing on his face.
"Guess... that is all I could do."
Before he could react, she moved again. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
THUD!
A punch landed straight into his gut.
"GHH—!!"
His body bent forward as all the air left his lungs instantly.
Pain exploded through his abdomen.
Morgana’s cold voice reached his ears.
"Continue."
Noah clenched his teeth, his face twisting in pain.
He forced himself to move.
His legs trembled, but he pushed forward again.
With a grunt, he lunged at her once more.
But this time.
He did not even see it.
BOOM!
The spar continued for less than a minute.
But soon his body was sent flying across the hall.
He crashed into the wall with a heavy impact before falling to the ground.
"Ugh...!!"
Noah groaned in pain, his body refusing to cooperate.
Morgana watched him from a distance and turned her head away in annoyance. "Hmph!" She got off the platform.
Beside him, a familiar figure lay in the same condition.
Damien.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then Damien started laughing while watching Noah.
Noah gritted his teeth, irritation and anger filling him.
Why had she asked him to train with her? And even beat him so brutally? What had he done wrong that she looked so furious at him?
His jaw hurt. His left cheek was swollen from her punch.
His stomach burned in pain.
Then a sudden realization came to him.
She never trained Damien personally, at least not during academy class hours. Then why today, all of a sudden, had she decided to train him?
"Hah... haha... hahaha!"
