Chapter 66: You Will Regret It!

"Hah... haha... hahaha!"

Noah heard laughter beside him.

Despite his bruised face and broken lips, Damien laughed while looking at Noah.

With a pained grin, he said, "Told you... it’s not special treatment..."

Noah lay there, staring at the ceiling, then slowly turned his head and looked at Damien with suspicion.

With narrowed eyes, he asked, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Damien said while still holding back his laughter.

Noah stared at him seriously and asked, "You... did you tell Instructor Morgana... about what I said to you outside her office?"

Damien’s expression returned to normal. He stopped smiling, nodded casually, scratched his cheek, and said, "I just teased her slightly. Nothing else."

Noah frowned and asked, "What tease?"

Damien replied calmly, "About getting a boyfriend finally. That also the same age as your disciple. A young boyfriend. You are really something else, Master... that’s what I said to her... and the next moment she became furious. But she didn’t beat me there at that time."

Noah clenched his fists. He could not understand the audacity of this guy.

But Damien continued.

With a casual tone, he said, "Then she coldly asked me... who told you... and who is this new young boyfriend of mine... that I don’t have any idea about... so I told her your name."

Noah shook his head in irritation. Any person could tell that he was just messing around and joking. How could this guy actually believe it and even tell Morgana?

’Or was it his plan to get me beaten? But he got beaten as well.’

Damien looked at him and said plainly, "Well, you shouldn’t have lied to me in the first place."

A vein bulged on Noah’s forehead.

Then he forced a smile.

"You idiot... I didn’t lie. Of course she will be angry if you tease her like that. She acted like that so you think it was not true. After all, which master would want her disciple to know that their master is having a relationship with a young man of their age? That is why she acted like this and even beat you..."

He continued, "While she beat me for telling you this truth... you got that? I told you not to say this to anyone. You even promised. And you broke it so instantly."

Damien frowned and said firmly, "You... you still have the guts to lie to me. Stop it, Noah."

Noah replied stubbornly, "I am not lying. This is the truth."

Damien paused for a second, then said, "Okay then, I will just ask her."

He pushed himself up and stood on his feet.

Noah’s eyes widened.

"What? Don’t do that! We both will be in more trouble!"

Damien gave a wide smile and said confidently, "Then so be it. I am ready to get beaten... but I will still ask her."

Noah quickly said, "Okay, okay, I accept that I was lying. Don’t you dare tell her anything now!"

He also stood up and tried to stop him.

Damien cupped his ear mockingly and said, "What? I cannot hear you... what are you saying? Anyway, I need to go and ask her about you... and tell her what you just said."

"No! Damien, I warned you, don’t do it! It will not end well for you if you do that!" Noah said with a panicked and aggressive tone.

But Damien was in no mood to listen.

With a challenging look, he asked, "What can you do to me?"

He stepped closer and continued, "I will ask her, tell her what you said... and what can you do about it? Teach me a lesson? Fight me?"

He looked straight into Noah’s eyes and said confidently, "You are strong, Noah... but not enough to do anything to me."

Noah gritted his teeth. No matter how irritated he felt, what Damien said was true.

Still, Noah did not back down.

With a firm voice, he said loudly, "Fine! Do whatever you want... You can tell her if you want. I will not stop you... but remember my words... you will regret it..."

His voice drew the attention of nearby students.

A few students started murmuring.

Damien looked at him with surprise. He was just trying to tease Noah since he had lied to him. But now Noah was telling him to go and tell Morgana whatever he wanted.

Soon, Damien became more amused. He smirked and said, "You can try it." He was actually enjoying this. He was wondering what Noah would do now.

Then he turned and walked toward the place where Morgana was standing, who was not paying attention to whatever was going on between the two students.

Noah remained standing there. "Tch!"

---

It was 4 p.m. in the afternoon.

Noah stepped out of the bus in the North District of Novaris City.

The Adventurers Guild office was situated at Meridian Avenue and Fifth Street North, one of the older commercial blocks in the North District.

Noah walked through the street. It was quite crowded.

He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black jacket over it, gray pants, and white shoes.

His hair was messy, yet the man looked very handsome.

Soon, he reached his destination.

It was a tall, seven-story building. The kind with thick stone columns and elegant old-fashioned stonework. But it had been modernized. The stone was dark grey, almost black, and the gaps between the columns had been filled with sleek black panels. It gave off a feeling of old money combined with modern power.

The windows were framed in bronze-colored metal, and the glass had a slightly blue-grey tint. Everything looked expensive but not flashy.

It looked perfect for a gold-level guild. Not too flashy, nor too old-looking.

Heavy glass doors in a brushed steel frame sat at the center of the ground floor. Above them was a thin glowing panel that showed live guild stats. Active contracts, completion rate, and the gold rank indicator, like a scoreboard that never slept.

Flanking the doors were two long planters with sharp, trimmed architectural grass instead of flowers. Two security cameras slowly swept the pavement.

The Guild Sign

Above the entrance, carved into a black panel and lit from within with a warm amber glow, was the guild emblem, a crimson flame wrapped around a sword with the words CRIMSON VALE ADVENTURES GUILD in plain, confident lettering underneath.

"Nice!" Noah exclaimed and walked toward the entrance.

The huge gates were guarded by two guards.

Noah entered inside.

The automatic glass doors opened before he reached them. The lobby hit him immediately.

The temperature was low inside. Cool and perfect.

"Let’s join the guild."
