Almost akin to that of water flow, Axel deflected one attack after another; mindlessly using strength wouldn't work here. The heritage of the middle-grade merchants and mid-level nobles also wasn't something to joke about. Axel ducked and made a large swing. With that one motion, his sword fended off against more than twenty arrows at once, which were all coming at him in a horizontal line. Someone tried to attack from behind, but as if he had eyes at the back of his head. He jumped high into the sky, and a clear view of everything came into his vision.

Like a deadly assassin, he used the gaps in their attack to move from one section of the circle to another. His mind did not think, it only analyzed, but did not give any command to the body consciously. His subconscious mostly kept him going in that flow state. He had to stop himself from overthinking. Axel not only dodged and deflected, with every opportunity he took out one contestant after another as if he were cutting through butter. Many of the participants found themselves inside some kind of energy bubble as they started floating, they were out of the fight. They cursed loudly for not even realizing how they had been eliminated. But no one paid attention to them.

Green Dagger, being the cunning bastard that he was, continued to analyze things from afar. The more he waited for the right opportunity to jump in, the more he became fearful. He was the heir of one of the prominent middle-class noble families. He knew all the other heirs who were on a similar level to him and higher.

But no one fought in this particular way or talked like that. He could not help but think if it was someone from the highest status, who perhaps was kept hidden by their family. But he soon shook his head. No, those people are far more arrogant.

This bastard Salazar was most likely from a low-tier merchant or noble family. Which infuriated him to no end. How could a bastard from a low-status family be that strong and steal his spotlight?

Axel on the other hand did not know about what Green Dagger was thinking and would not care about it too much. But Axel was keeping an eye on the bastard and his surroundings after all, it would be stupid to get eliminated in the same way as previous time.

More than 20 participants had been eliminated by him till now, and his injuries also kept piling up. This was making things difficult for him as his anger was rising continuously.

Axel suddenly grabbed a sword from someone and threw it at Green Dagger, who was deep in thought while continuing to move around within the circle.

Axel shouted, "Oye, damn trash why aren't you stepping up? While the others are continuously being eliminated by me? When you're the one who says to work together, yet you remain behind, waiting for everyone to deplete my stamina? Then take the prize."

Everyone stopped fighting for a moment when Axel started speaking, their attention immediately turned towards the one named Green Dagger. Everyone shot a furious glance towards him. After all, what Axel said wasn't a lie, to be honest.

Green Dagger cursed internally, but before he could say anything, Axel started speaking again,

"Perhaps, you're a commoner, aren't you? I guess that would make sense since you behave like a rat. Of course, it's ok, as long as you think the method doesn't matter," sneered Axel.

But the moment, the moment these words resounded in the air, Green Dagger clenched his fists and his eyes turned bloodshot. But Axel smiled seeing that, there was a reason why he said those words. All the nobles, without exception, had incredible arrogance in their nature, comparing them to the commoners is something absolutely no one would ever do, as it was the greatest insult towards them.

If the bastard ignored his taunt, then it would prove that he was likely a commoner or someone from a low-level merchant or noble family. But now with that reaction, Axel was sure that Green Dagger was someone from a famous middle-grade family.

Despite being angry, Green Dagger did not mindlessly rush forward. He was no fool. Salazar was simply taunting him. But it was effective nonetheless. Green Dagger spat hatefully, "Guys, this damn bastard is definitely a commoner, if not just think about his way of voice. Insulting the nobles of the great kingdom just like that? If he were someone educated and knew the rules, he would not do so."

Many of the nobles ended up agreeing to him but did not go forward to attack, while there were some of them who were dissatisfied by that comment.

"So, what if I am a commoner? Or so what if I am noble or a merchant? Does it make a difference? This competition is held to give a chance to those hardworking people who were not blessed with a heritage." Axel spoke.

"In the end, are we not the same human made of flesh and bones and red blood? There was a time when none of neither nobles nor merchants existed. Nor did the royals. But so what? Did many powerful families not fall throughout the ages? Did new ones not come?" his voice became louder.

"So, what is with this petty pride of yours? When you are absolutely and utterly nothing without that heritage itself?" Axel announced thunderously, and most of the fights had stopped just to listen to his bold proclamation.

The audience went absolutely crazy at that speech, which upheld the rights of the commoners who worked harder than anyone else, yet remained in poverty and powerlessness in their lives.

Many participants also began to shout, but there were not too many. The entire colosseum began to cheer one name,

Salazar!! Salazar!! Salazar!! Salazar!! Salazar!! Salazar!!

Even the examiners did not come forward, to stop the crowd and let arena turn into a storm. In the vip room where the royals and other heirs resided, most of them had an ugly expression on their faces. They didn't like those words but what the contestant said wasn't wrong.

It instantly painted the high-society in a negative picture. The 4th prince a had devious smirk hearing that, while the first and second prince alongside the third princess had a disgusted expression.

Moments later, Axel clapped his hands loudly to get everyone's attention. He turned towards everyone else in his circle.

"Now, let me show you what a commoner can do if they truly put their mind to it," proclaimed Axel menacingly.

Axel did not waste a single second as he shot towards Green Dagger, who now seemed to be using short swords. His opponents did not remain idle and attacked. He swiftly dodged the attacks coming towards him. With a powerful uppercut, he delivered a slash to his opponent's stomach. Green Dagger wasn't able to move in the nick of time, as he got injured.

He hurriedly backed away, but a sudden arrow shot in his foot from behind which made him lose balance. His back touched the ground. He shouted for help loudly. Thankfully, the others attacked Axel in time, he wasn't able to deliver a final blow towards the bastard. But he noticed that someone had shot an arrow at 'Green Daggers' foot, which created an opportunity for him. It was Viper who made the shot.

Axel spun himself like a a fan, while holding two swords on his hand. His blade cut through every single attack and powerful horizontal slash went towards the one standing in front of green dagger, that contestant was instantly eliminated. He immediately grabbed green dagger's leg.

Axel used that bastard's body like a shield to block all the attacks. Scent of fresh blood permeated the entire air as almost everyone had some injury on them, more or less. Axel again grabbed his leg and slammed him to the ground with a powerful force. He slammed him down, again and again.

Now, fewer than 40 contestants remain in his circle, but all of them stepped back in some fear, seeing such brutality. Slamming a human down like he was some ragdoll. Axel put him on the ground, he was surprised the defense mechanism of the mask hadn't been activated yet. Axel broke multiple fingers of Green Dagger as he continued to howl in pain, yet no one came forward to help.

The entire arena went silent at the audacity of the one named Salazar. Axel whispered into Green Dagger's ears in a chilling tone, "Let's meet within the academy."
