Chapter 83: Nah, I’d win.. [1]

Slowly but surely, the old will of the Durein Nightcrown began to take control of the existence named Ashborn. Memories flowed within him, one after another. His struggles, his emotions, and his will began to feel all of them, but in truth, the will did not care. No matter how tragic Axel’s story was, the will did not care.

It only needed a vessel to unleash his fury upon the world, the price that powerhouses of that period and their descendants would pay in fresh blood, which was very much in line with what Axel himself wanted or needed.

Memories of Ashborn flowed in him from the recent ones to more and more in the past, and after a certain looking at Ashborn’s memories, no Axel Nomrad’s memories, he was utterly shocked, he couldn’t believe it, the true identity of the boy whose body he wanted to take over, then kill the remnant spirit slowly, as it would be dormant after he took over the body anyway.

But now, seeing those certain memories of the boy, everything changed, all of his plans. But a proud smile appeared on his face, seeing the impossible feats of the boy in his fresh memories.

Axel whose soul had gone unconscious, with him willingly handing over the control of his existence, to a foreign entity, after an unknown amount of time he woke up, for a moment his mind was blank, unable to remember what happened, there was a splitting headache in his mind, but eventually, memories flowed back in him, as he remembered what happened last.

He was stabbed in the back right through his heart by Librarian Leroy, then the Will of the Durein Nightcrown had promised him vengeance, in exchange for handing over the control of his existence, he knew very well what that entailed, both options lead to death either way, so he had chosen something that would make the treacherous bastards pay.

He had buried his head on his knees, sitting in a completely white room, waiting for death by the will of the Durein Nightcrown, or the will might just put him to sleep. So, he simply waited silently.

Soon, the sound of a pair of footsteps could be heard; they were slow but steady, indicating the power and confidence of the person coming closer. But the footsteps’ steady rhythm faltered for a moment, but they continued again, and eventually the footsteps stopped right in front of him, but he continued to have his head buried in his knees.

After an unknown amount of time, seeing the figure simply stand in front of him and not do anything to him, he was forced to look up. Then he saw the appearance of Durein Nightcrown for the first time, or how he was supposed to look.

The man seemed like a healthy 40-year-old, with slightly long black hair and blue eyes. Donning clothes engraved with carefully crafted runes, the runes seem simple at first glance and do not attract anyone attention, but only True Runecasters might be able to see through the facade.

The man looked at him with a trace of sadness, seeing that Axel became enraged somewhat as he said, "Get on with it, I know without dealing with my spirit, you will not be able to take full control of my body."

The man opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out of his mouth, seeing the enraged look on Axel. Eventually, the figure put his hand on top of Axel’s head warmly, which for a moment caught him off guard as the man stated,

"It’s been hard on you, hasn’t it, my boy. I’m sorry you had to go through all that suffering. I’m sorry this old man was one of the biggest annoyances in your journey as well. I’m sorry I tried to take over your body. But don’t worry, your grandfather ’Damien Nomrad’ will take care of everything, especially all those bastards outside. None shall survive."

The man took off his hands from Axel’s head, as stepped past him, but Axel’s mind went haywire at that revelation, what sort of bullshit was this? But no, maybe it wasn’t; his appearance was similar to his father Daniel Nomrad. Even the way he spoke, but there was one thing he only noticed, which only served to increase his shock even further. freeweɓnovel.cøm

Durein Nightcrown and Damien Nomrad, both of the first names start with the ’D’ and the last name starts with the ’N’, how could there be such a coincidence? Axel turned his head around and looked at the back of the man with shock, The figure stopped for a moment. He looked slightly back towards him.

"You did well, my boy, you did enough, I’m proud of you, Axel Nomrad, my grandson. Now just sit back and watch the show, how your grandpa deals with all these wretches," stated the figure of Damien Nomrad proudly.

Axel had a disbelieving look on his face, he couldn’t believe it. The disgustingly annoying will of the Durein Nightcrown on his mind, all along was that of his grandfather. That legendary Runecaster was his grandfather all along.

For a moment, he felt stupid for not speaking about the bio-rune engraving procedure with the will in his mind, he was already suspicious that there might be a connection between his grandfather and Durein Nightcrown because Durein in this world was said to have created that new field of Runecasting.

While in the Eldarion continent, his grandfather was the one said to have pioneered that new field, and was an expert in it. But what were the chances, truly? Just when death had clutched at his neck, ready to suffocate him, he was graced with luck. But a sinister smile bloomed on his senses nonetheless.

Durein Nightcrown, aka Damien Nomrad, controlling Axel’s body, opened his eyes. It is to be noted that all of this happened internally in just 5 seconds in total, right after Axel lost consciousness after getting stabbed.

In the body of Axel, Damien opened his eyes wide, an incomparably powerful shield erected all around him, and all 13 injured powerhouses stepped back in visible shock in disbelief. The Sage looked at Cedric questioningly, but Cedric was far more shocked than anyone as he was seeing with his own eyes that his disciple, who was stabbed right through the heart, was having all of his injuries healed. Damien pulled out the stabbed sword from his chest and put it into the space ring.
