Transmigrated as a Ghost-Chapter 1153 (Spoiler, Title at the Bottom of the - )
"That's not possible!" Lyra shouted as Quillon disappeared behind a curtain of flames.
She had thought that she knew of all of Gronex's strongest moves from the futures that she had glimpsed into, but not once had he used this power. Not even during the couple of paths where the ancient dragon was defeated at great cost.
However, the reason she had never witnessed Gronex using this unique skill that was called Gloriosa's Swift Embrace was due to the fact that he found it to clash with how he enjoyed fighting.
It was an attack that manifested itself around a target in an instant and left almost no room for evasion.
This type of sneaky maneuver went against Gronex's typical head-on style where he used immense speed and power to defeat his opponents. He typically had no need nor desire to use what he considered to be petty tricks.
Yet, being close to running out of time on his Heavenly Flame Armor Supreme Skill, the ruler of the molten sea was beginning to grow impatient. He was tired of just being one step away from finishing his foes off, only for them to then slink away to recover while the others distracted him.
That was why he had chosen a guaranteed method to eliminate one of them even if it was not something he particularly wanted to resort to.
'Roxene, do it now!'
Seeing how dire the situation was becoming; Marcus knew that he could no longer hold Roxene back.
She was the only one among them that was still in relatively good shape and not exhausted.
They had already decided that she would need to be the one to finish Gronex off by utilizing Soul Burst, which was one of the skills that Marcus had shared with her through their bond.
Initially she was not supposed to do so until the enormous Lava Dragon had lost the protection of his Supreme Skill, but as the battle had shifted out of their favor, it was the only thing that any of them could do to turn the tables around once more.
Naturally, Roxene did not hesitate not that she had been let off of her metaphorical leash.
She had wanted to go all-out for a while now and could finally fully let loose and tear apart the haughty dragon that she despised.
The moment the power of Soul Burst coursed through Roxene's body, her already colossal size doubled along with her stats.
Even if only temporally, in her current state she could bring out more power of her Paragon of the Divine Wolf Supreme Skill.
While she was still just under half of Gronex's full size, she had become imposing enough now that the great Lava Dragon turned his full attention onto her.
"AWOOOOOOOOO!"
Unleashing a howl that carried immense power behind it, Roxene blew away all of the molten weapons that had been chasing after her to prevent her from joining the battle.
A burst of light bright enough to light up the night sky followed and slammed into Gronex faster than the blink of an eye.
The impact of the blast was followed by a gigantic explosion that swallowed everything in its path for several kilometers.
Except, even after taking this monstrously powerful attack, Gronex merely rose up from the crater he was standing in looking completely unharmed.
'I know it's nighttime right now, but that was Roxene's Howl of the Day empowered by Soul Burst. That Supreme Skill of his really is broken. He can really shrug off anything we throw at him while it's active.' Marcus thought as he watched the battle as Lyra carried him.
Right now, the two of them were rushing over towards Quillon who was still trapped within the flames of one of Gronex's unique skills.
Though the attack was basically unavoidable, it clearly was not particularly powerful as a result.
Had Quillon been at full strength, he easily could have broken out.
Unfortunately, the fight had worn all of them down and they were only just barely staying up. Marcus was even in a state where he could hardly move and was having to be pulled along like luggage.
Nevertheless, that did not mean that his presence would be pointless.
Although it was not much, he had focused on recovering his mana and now he was channeling everything he had into a healing spell.
It certainly would not be particularly strong, but he was going to provide what little assistance he could to Quillon. There was no telling whether even the scantiest amount of healing might save his friend. So, Marcus did what he could.
"I need to put you down for a second. I'm going to try and dispel the flames. Hopefully Quillon has managed to hold out." Lyra said, letting go of Marcus and pulling out her twin kukris.
An immense amount of mana flowed into her amethros weapons as she prepared to cut through the fire, but she never got the chance to swing her blades.
Just before she struck, the blaze that had consumed Quillon burst from the inside.
A hot gust of wind swirled around both Marcus and Lyra, but neither of them were touched by the flames. As if some power were controlling them and deliberately keeping either of them from getting burned.
"To think that I'd have to come back and exert myself like this the moment that I finished my evolution in the spirit world. But I can't very well let my contractor die."
Floating above a haggard and scorched Quillon was a girl, no, a spirit, that looked like a fairy with long silver hair.
However, unlike the last time that Marcus and Lyra had seen her, she was now larger than before. Around three feet tall instead of being palm sized as she had been in the past. And her increase in height was not all that was new, she was much more powerful as well.
""Aerial!"" Both Marcus and Lyra exclaimed in unison. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Yep, that's right. Newly evolved Superior Spirit of the wind, Aerial, is making her debut."
