Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 226: Deer
"What does it do?"
"Keep in mind that I’ve only seen these guys for a short time, okay? So don’t kill me if I’m worng alright?"
The doctor appeared fearful. Sneaking a glance at Hilda when he talked.
"Just tell me what you know."
Egul also glances at Hilda, getting her to behave. Seeing the maid lower her knife, the doctor let out a sigh of relief.
"Ok! So first of all, as far as I know, this is like the second last stage of this condition."
Hearing that, all the people here became alarmed.
"The first thing that happened is that the animal became weird, then their behavior changed bit by bit."
At this point, Egul couldn’t help but feel dejavu; he just described the condition of the northern animal to Hilda and enlisted her help.
"What happened next?"
"That," he pointed at the deer carcass, "their face twisted, and they became very aggressive. Their bodies became tougher. Killing anyone that came into contact and collecting their corspe."
Egul eyesbriw rose when he heard that.
"Then the last stage, I haven’t witnessed it myself, but I heard that there are no people living on that island now."
After hearing that story, Leon gulped down his saliva. That came straight out of a horror story he heard from an adult when he was a kid.
"When did this happen?"
Egul aked furthur questions. The more he listened, the more he worried about his tribe. The docto looked at the tribe man and said.
"I dunno about a hundred years ago? Or two hundred? I can’t remember. It’s an old tale by now. Is this still accurate?"
"Part of it, this thing took one punch from me and still stands.
Chills went down Leon’s spine; he subtlely looked at the docotor. A scene played in his mind about the time that the doctor’s head got splat with ease.
Rgul slipped over the deer to show evidence. His puch made a visible dent in the deer body. It hides ruin by the force. However, if one looks closely, the twisted face also took a beating and became more morphed.
It was a horrifying sight. Surviving one punch from a fifth circle mystic is not a feat you could dismiss. Imagine if normal people were to hunt this thing. They would be sent home in body bags.
Now, the only thing in Egul’s mind was his tribesmen. He needs to get back faster. But he couldn’t use his power and couldn’t have left these people here either.
He used a knife to gut open the inside of that deer. Tring to drain the blood out. Hopfully he could get energy from this.
But the people that encircle the deer corsp would rather eat normal beef jerky than this dreadful meal.
"Is it edible? Egul seeks confirmation from other people. But all he sees is a shake for Leon, Theia, and Hilda. Even the doctor looked at Egul like he was crazy.
"I don’t think that’s a good idea."
Hildan voiced her opinion.
"But I need to."
That night Hilda enjoyed her beef jeljerky more than any other night.

Morning light came through the snow covered forest, refleting it into the cave. They awoke early in the morning and quickly packed their things.
Hearing the doctor claim, Egul had been restless all night. Theia couldn’t complain because she got to have Egul’s barrier when walking.
Making this trip far easier than the day before. The mafman had eaten the whole deer, the ehole deer that had been mutant.
The day was spent hiking up the mountain like yesterday, but the air is a lot heavier. The pace at which they cross also increases; if it was fast before, it is faster now.
But on their way, it hadn’t been so smooth. With speed comes less cuation, and the snow covered had some trickling up its sleeves.
Mainly a hole that is deeper than it should be. But their speed was clearly faster than before.
However, when they crossed the mountain, everything felt very wrong. Even Theia felt like they’re being watched. Maybe she’s just overthinking this, but in the end she would get her answer.
After going downhill, they came face-to-face with a strange sight. It was four deer looking right with them.
Leon freezes at such a sight. No one made a move. Both the deer and the people look at each other. Try to assess the situation.
Hilda reaches for her knife slowly, while Theia prepares herself to summon a wolf. Leon already solidified one of the brachs nearby.
However, the next thing the deer did was unexpected. They all walk away, moving their horrifying faces out of the party sight.
Only then did they heave a sigh of relief. But Hilda notices something strange about that interaction.
"Why isn’t it atracking us?"
"You wanted them to attack us?"
Leon blurted out.
"No, it was as Miss Hilda said. This is more worrying than them attacking us."
Egul agreed with Hilda that this is worse than them attacking. After he heard the doctor’s story and from his own experience, he knew that this mutant animal would attack anything it saw.
"Prepared for the worse"
Egul cuation all of them and proceed through the forest.
Night came, and Egul wanted to go out hunting like before, but Leon managed to convince Egul to stay. Not only did the snow pick up in speed, but the unsettling sight earlier in the day had truly spooked him.
And his fears were answered that night when the snow covered the forest. Leavign is nothing but a blurry sorm outside. Four sets of eyes shined in the dark.
Slowly apporched the cave, slowly revealing the mobid face of the deer. Looking closely, one could tell that it was the deer they saw earlier in the day.
If they were sleepy before, now they were wide awake. Everybody in the cave got ready to fight. And the deer glaced at them, their morped face ready to fight.
