Extra's Re-awakening: System Errors Made Me Too OP-Chapter 57: The Primordials
"What did you say?" She looked shocked, she had no idea what he was talking about, but the mention of the Primordial Essen-Beast caught her attention. It was something of myths, folklores that only existed in some parts of the kingdom, and she knew of it to. But unlike it’s true name, humanity referred to it as an A-Tier Soul-Beast.
"The Primordial Earth Essen-Beast-Beasts, what do you want with them?" He had questions that demanded immediate answers, not only did he want to know why they w anted the Primordial Earth Essen-Beast, he wanted to know about the true origins of Soul-Energy.
For a while, she had no idea what he was talking about. Then Rai sighed, and looked her straight in the eye. "What do you want with the Soul Stone.
"What?" Her eyes widened. "How do you know about our plans to retrieve the Soul Stone?"
"We ran into one of your members a while back, especially after pretending a member of the 14th Soul-Squad for so long. So what is it?" He asked with a stone cold face.
"HAHAHA!" The woman laughed out loudly, seemingly confused to how a kid would think that she’d tell him anything about their plans.
"You’ve got quite some guts kid, Livinus told you didn’t he? My my, he couldn’t even complete a simple infiltration and retrieval mission, what a failure." She said, revealing the actual motives behind Livinus’s attempt to retrieve the Soul Stone that resided within the Soul king’s domain.
"A kid like you has no reason to be involved or mixed in with our plans, if you want to know so desperately, you’re going to have to defeat me first." The woman said with confidence, her eyes lowering in anger as she wanted payback for what he did earlier.
[Ding!]
[Hostile Intentions has been detected!]
[An urgent quest has been activated!]
[Defeat all enemies to ensure the Primordial’s safety!]
[Failure to complete quest will result in complete stoppage of the heart]
[Enemies defeated: 0/1]
"W-what?" As several system notifications popped out in a blue translucent screen in his line of vision, he was left highly astonished.
’The system... Wants me to kill her?’ He thought.
He had never killed human being to survive, nor has he had the thought of doing so even after the thugs that assaulted his mother. The reason was, he didn’t want to end up exactly like the monsters that made his mother suffer.
And now the system was telling him to take the life of a human being?
As he was distracted, the woman aimed another [Double Light Barrage] at him, propelling into a building and bringing it down completely.
"You’re not as strong as you made everyone believe are you, Rai Voltia?" She scoffed in disappointment.
Rai, on the other hand, was deep in thought. He began to doubt whether he should really follow the system’s instructions, yet what truly troubled him were the consequences of failing to complete the mission.
"An ignorant kid like you have no place in this world." With her final words, she stretched her hands toward the building where Rai had crashed and began forming another [Double Light Barrage] in both palms.
This time around, she combined both balls of light energy and converted it into a massive ball of energy before hurling it at the building. "Goodbye Kid."
BOOM!
The collision of the ball of energy and the building resulted in a massive explosion which destroyed every inch of the structure. It sent shockwaves which resonated through the whole forest, even the captain of the 14th Soul-Squad and his team were affected by it.
Luckily, most of the villagers were absent from this part of the area, so no casualties were reported.
With the job successfully done, the woman turned around, walking away to fulfill the purpose of her current mission. However, a dark and angry voice stopped her in her tracks.
"I see." Rai uttered with a cold voice as he walked out of the flames, his shirt burnt off revealing his six pack abs.
It was completely different from the first phase of the Soul-Hunters examination, it wasn’t like the battle against Darius to clear the first phase. It was a battle for his life.
"I’d forgotten, that’s how the world has always been regardless of which world I’m in, the weak has no reason to exist in the same place as someone who is far stronger. That’s what the system was trying to tell me." He added, staring down at the woman.
"I-Impossible!" She stammered, walking backwards slowly in disbelief.
"That means you understand what it means don’t you? The implications of calling yourself a Soul-Hunter?" He asked softly.
"You bastard!" She shouted as she rushed toward him, her reason clouded, as his eyes reminded her of a sight she never thought she’d witness again in her lifetime.
"Electric Burst." Rai uttered softly in response, building up a spiralling ball of electricity in his palm and aiming it at her.
With a slight smirk on her face, she swiftly traced a pattern in the air, leaving a shimmering trail behind her.
"Alchemic Soul-Technique..." As she spoke, a massive circle materialized before her. In that same instant, the Electric Burst entirely, leaving no trace behind.
"You’re a fool, and now you’ll pay the ultimate price!" The spiralling ball of electricity appeared in her hands instantly, in her other hand she built up a bright ball of energy similar with it’s resonance to that of Takashi’s prominence wave.
After amplifying it’s power with her alchemic Soul-Technique, she aimed it back at him with the power behind the spiraling ball of electricity multiplied tenfold.
"It’s over!" She exclaimed, aiming the ball of energy at his face.
However to her dismay, he caught it with his bare palm.
"I-Impossible!" She exclaimed in complete disbelief; there was no way to explain what had just happened.
’He caught it with his bare hands!?’ She thought.
"I see, all along I thought you possessed a Soul-Type that allowed you to analyze every technique and redirect it back at your opponent after amplifying it’s quantitative functions. But the fact that you used the energy of Xander’s Soul-Technique more than twice proves me wrong. Your Soul-Technique allows you to analyze and copy the abilities of other Soul-Hunters and make them into yours. Mimick . However.."
As he spoke, the Electric Burst he caught grew in intensity and more potent than it initially was.
"Do not think my abilities are something you can easily take for yourself, Primordial Beast Art: Electric Burst." He spoke softly, as the combined energy of himself and the dragon flowed into the swirling ball of electricity, which he then aimed at the woman.
The magic circle that analyzed the properties of opposing Soul-Techniques around her shattered, unable to withstand the immense energy it had tried to replicate.
"Y-you damn monster!" She cried out with her last breath as the Primordial Electric Burst struck her midsection, hurling her backward into another building. In an instant, the sphere’s energy exploded upward into the sky, unleashing a massive shockwave that leveled all the surrounding structures.
She cried out with her last breath as the Primordial Electric Burst struck her midsection, hurling her backward into another building. In an instant, the sphere’s energy exploded upward into the sky, unleashing a massive shockwave that leveled all the surrounding structures.
As the energy detonated, it cleared every single thing in the environment, including the buildings that were situated in that area. As the smoke cleared, a half dead young woman was see laying down on the ground, completely helpless and unable to move. She lost all feeling in her arms and legs and could feel her consciousness slowly slipping away.
"I held back a lot, but it seems that wasn’t enough to stop you from dying." Rai said as he escaped the dust cloud and approached the woman.
"You don’t have a lot of time left, I beat you so tell me, why do you want the Essen-Beasts and where does Soul-Energy actually comes from?" He added.
Gathering all the energy she had left, the woman laughed loudly at his words. Never in her entire life did she think she’d be beaten by a mere kid who had the nerves to mock her for it.
"You’re one of them aren’t you?" She questioned with a weak voice, terrified to her core the moment she saw his eyes.
"One of what?"
"The Primordials." She replied.
In this world of supernatural abnormalities, the Primordials referred to humans who possessed or rather who has a primordial being within them. Xander for example can be referred to a Primordial since he had a Primordial Essen-beast sealed within him.
However the same couldn’t be said for Rai, he didn’t have a Primordial Essen-beast or a Primordial being sealed within him. He just has a contract with a Primordial being, the contract of the Shadow Dragon, the contract of one of the great deities.
