Extreme Pampering-Chapter 95 - What do you mean
Chapter 95: Chapter 95 What do you mean?
Chapter 95: Chapter 95 What do you mean?
Wanting to wait for more fans before starting to explain and looking for something to do, Shen Zhiyi set up her phone in the kitchen, cooked herself some corn porridge, and slowly answered questions in the comments.
“It’s mild, not serious, just a bit of dizziness.”
“It has nothing to do with the director, it was an accident. The crew has very good safety measures in place, and there are emergency medical personnel.”
“I’m not filming for now, just resting for a few days and will see how it goes.”
Although she cooked quite often, every time felt like the first time, so Shen Zhiyi’s culinary skills were admittedly not great. She stir-fried some greens in a simple manner and brought them to the table with the porridge, noticing that someone in the comments was asking how it tasted.
She tasted a spoonful of the porridge, not good but not bad, then tried the greens, which were so salty that she took a second sip of porridge.
[Hahaha her expression says it doesn’t taste good.]
[You should just order delivery, you’re eating too simply, there’s no meat.]
“It’s not that there’s no meat,” Shen Zhiyi put down her chopsticks, really unable to eat anymore, “it’s that I don’t have much of an appetite, and I prefer something light.”
The comments were guessing how bad her cooking was, and amidst a bunch of negative guesses, one comment that said “I want to eat” stood out conspicuously.
Shen Zhiyi gave a slight smile, “If you want to eat, I can invite you over,” she winked playfully, and finished her sentence, “but the condition is you have to come to my house.”
Comments then flooded in asking where she lived, saying they would be right over.
The same ID who had said they wanted to eat sent another message.
[I’m already here.]
Thinking this fan was joking, Shen Zhiyi smirked, about to respond when her home’s doorbell rang.
[Wow, which fan said they’d come and just showed up?]
[I won’t hide it from you guys, it’s me.]
[Yes, I’ve been cohabiting with Zhiyi for years, and I will invite everyone to our wedding drink soon.]
The fans were joking, Shen Zhiyi stood up puzzled and walked towards the door, unable to guess who the visitor could be—Xiaodong hadn’t mentioned she was coming.
The face that appeared on the surveillance monitor was one she had seen just that morning.
Shen Zhiyi instinctively opened the door, still confused, “Why are you here?”
He had just left this morning.
She stood at the door, showing no intention of inviting the person in. Pei Yu also stood quietly, “I came to eat.”
“What?”
Pei Yu handed her his phone, which displayed her live stream interface; since she had gone to answer the door, only an empty chair was visible in the camera’s frame.
“You said,” Pei Yu raised an eyebrow, “if I could come to your house, you would treat me to a meal.”
Even though the camera couldn’t capture this part, the voice was audible, and the comments flew by fast, guessing who this pleasant-sounding man could be. Everyone knew that Shen Zhiyi’s assistant and agent were females, and she didn’t have any publicly known close friends in the industry.
Shen Zhiyi was completely caught off guard; her words had been spoken offhandedly, and she never thought that the person posting would be Pei Yu. Had he become bored enough to join her live stream?
Pei Yu didn’t press for entry as Shen Zhiyi hesitated to give her consent, and he seemed a bit downhearted as he slowly asked, “Am I not welcome?”
Even without seeing his face, one could tell from his voice that he was likely handsome, and the few words between them revealed a very subtle atmosphere, not sounding like just friends, which led the fans to wild speculation.
[Let him in, he seems so pitiful.]
[He’s already there; it’s a good chance to deal with your unpalatable food, Zhiyi.]
[I want to see his face, I want to see his face, I want to see his face…]
Glancing down at these messy comments, Shen Zhiyi was at a loss for words for a while but ultimately relented, just like the fans said, he was already here…
“Come in.”
Shen Zhiyi returned the phone to him and went back to the dining table, picking up her own phone, “I’m going to turn off the live stream now.”
Comments flooded in trying to persuade her to stay.
[Is there something we can’t hear? I’m a yearly VIP member.]
[Zhiyi, if you do this, we’re going to start spreading rumors.]
Shen Zhiyi was unmoved, “It was you guys who wanted me to let him in.”
[Take it back, take it back, just kick him out instead.]
[Kick him out!]
Selectively ignoring these comments, Shen Zhiyi finally bid everyone goodbye, “I’m really turning off the live stream now, good night everyone, don’t worry about my injury, it’s not serious at all.”
After ending the live stream, Shen Zhiyi put down her phone and looked at Pei Yu, who had already seated himself opposite her, frowning slightly, unable to understand the purpose of his visit; it surely couldn’t just be for a meal.
Especially a meal that was hard to swallow.
Pei Yu didn’t seem inclined to provide an explanation either, placing the dishes he brought out one by one, while Shen Zhiyi’s porridge and dishes were all pushed in front of her.
“Let’s eat first.”
The dishes were still from Huating, considering her preference for light and easy-to-digest food, Shen Zhiyi didn’t pick up her chopsticks but looked at him puzzledly, “You came just to bring me food?”
“Mmm.”
Pei Yu lowered his head to eat the porridge, “The housekeeper found out about your injury and was very worried, she made these, aren’t you going to eat?”
During her days at Huating, she had formed the closest relationship with the housekeeper, so hearing him say that, Shen Zhiyi hesitated no longer and picked up her chopsticks.
Pei Yu let out an almost imperceptible sigh of relief.
He was even less to her than a housekeeper.

He picked up a chopstick full of stir-fried greens and ate without a change in expression, making Shen Zhiyi, who had been cooking, feel rather embarrassed, “You don’t have to eat that.”
“It’s fine,” Pei Yu saw she was still eating very little, “If there’s anything you want to eat, you can tell me.”
Shen Zhiyi paused, “You shouldn’t come anymore.”
She said seriously, “My injury has nothing to do with you. You don’t need to take care of me like this; I don’t need it.”
Pei Yu looked at her quietly for a long time, realizing he wasn’t angry but rather felt a tender ache in his heart, unable to muster any temper.
“It’s just bringing you a few meals,” his tone was calm, as if delivering food to her was an exceptionally trivial matter, as though he’d delivered meals to many people before, “Xiaoran is very worried about you and couldn’t get away, so he asked me to take good care of you. Aren’t you friends?”
One moment it was the housekeeper, the next it was Qin Xiaoran. Shen Zhiyi believed that both of these people were truly worried about her, but it felt very awkward coming from Pei Yu.
Unable to pinpoint what exactly was strange, she felt as if her mind had indeed dulled after hitting her head; with that thought, she again felt her injury was quite serious.
Finding no words to refute him, she could only bury her head in her meal.
After dinner, when all the utensils had been cleared away, Pei Yu still didn’t seem ready to leave, so Shen Zhiyi felt compelled to press him, “It’s getting late, shouldn’t you be going now?”
It wasn’t just her imagination; he had been acting oddly all day.
Pei Yu looked up at her, his face pale under the incandescent light from above, and asked softly, “Is it such a problem if I don’t leave tonight, given how late it is?”
Suspecting she had misunderstood, Shen Zhiyi’s eyes widened in astonishment, finding the situation utterly ridiculous, “Pei Yu, what are you implying?”
She was getting a bit angry.
