Chapter 83: Chapter 72: Is Qi Daodong Possessed?

The first to react was actually Wu Cheng. The composure he forced himself to maintain earlier was gone, as he glared angrily at his brother hiding behind the guards and gritted his teeth, saying:

"Wu Ping!"

Wu Ping, however, completely ignored his shout, clutching the clothing of the person before him tightly, and looking at Qi Daodong with a face full of terror.

The guards finally realized how shocking Wu Ping’s words were, and they drew their weapons one after another, making the atmosphere instantly tense and volatile.

As the guards brandished their swords, Qi Daodong, who had been expressionless, also raised his head. The sinister, crimson light in his eyes glinting between his white hair startled everyone.

Lv Yang quickly assumed a sword stance. The news of Qi Daodong being possessed was too astonishing, and he didn’t even know if he could stop him, only hoping the disciple who went to call for help would return soon.

Wu Cheng was anxious and burning with worry. He hurriedly embraced Qi Daodong and shouted to everyone:

"Don’t attack! Don’t attack! My master doesn’t mean any harm!"

But having not eaten for days and being exhausted, how could he hold Qi Daodong? Qi Daodong broke free from Wu Cheng’s restraints and charged directly at Lv Yang, whom he saw as the greatest threat.

Lv Yang was taken aback, not expecting this elderly man to act so decisively. He hurriedly moved his sword to respond.

Qi Daodong, however, seemed to have no rationality, attacking without any discernible pattern. Though his entire body was filled with boundless Qi Force, there was no sign of using Profound Qi at all.

This restored some confidence in Lv Yang who thought he would surely die; he exerted all his strength to block Qi Daodong’s assault. Even when his sword cut through Qi Daodong’s flesh, it could not stop his movements, as Qi Daodong seemed to have lost all sense of pain.

What’s more shocking to Lv Yang was that the wounds he inflicted on Qi Daodong would naturally heal after a while. This made it clear that the opponent had truly become a demonic presence; a prolonged battle was not a good strategy.

Seeing the battle between the two, Wu Cheng wanted to come to aid but was blocked by the other five guards. Just then, the side door opened, and several cultivators dressed in the Shouxi Sect attire came out. An elder saw Wu Cheng surrounded and exclaimed:

"Wu Cheng? Sect Leader!"

The elder’s attention immediately shifted to the fighting pair, instinctively wanting to rush over to help his sect leader.

"Mr. Qio, don’t go over! That’s not Mr. Qi! That’s a demonic presence!"

Seeing someone familiar, Wu Ping grabbed at it like a lifeline and immediately ran to Mr. Qio’s side, tugging at his sleeve.

Mr. Qio frowned tightly at Wu Ping’s distorted face and angrily rebuked: "Wu Ping! Do you know what you’re saying!"

"I’m not talking nonsense! If you don’t believe me, Mr. Qio, take a look yourself!" Wu Ping argued desperately.

Wu Cheng looked at his brother in disbelief, unable to hold back a roar: "Wu Ping! Do you have a conscience!"

Wu Ping, like a cat whose tail was stepped on, responded vehemently:

"A demon is a demon! He’s not our master anymore, brother! Stop being delusional!"

Wu Cheng clenched his fists, veins bulging on his arms, glaring at Wu Ping with his teeth gritted tightly, even making a "crack" sound.

"Mr. Qio! Please come help me!"

Lv Yang ultimately couldn’t hold back and shouted for help.

Just a moment ago, he unleashed several skills and still couldn’t hold back the demonic Qi Daodong. Now, unable to block in time, he was sent flying and slammed into the wall. The gusts of wind raised cleared some of the fog, and the red-eyed Qi Daodong actually aimed straight for Lv Yang’s heart!

"Master, no!" Wu Cheng howled hysterically.

The guards, mistaking his intentions, crowded in tighter with their swords.

Qi Daodong, sharply aware of Wu Cheng’s danger, abruptly stopped his movements, shot his legs, and leaped toward Wu Cheng.

Mr. Qio, his face bloodless, saw Mr. Qi in the air with disheveled white hair and grim visage. Without further hesitation, he executed a skill aimed at the demonic Qi Daodong.

Mr. Qio had the cultivation of the Middle Condensed Water Realm, and the skill he executed was naturally much stronger than Lv Yang’s. Qi Daodong, indeed, was intimidated by the towering blaze, forced to twist his body to evade.

"Stop fighting, Mr. Qio! Everyone put your swords away! If you do, the master won’t attack!" Wu Cheng shouted anxiously.

"Brother, are you crazy! Put the swords away and wait for this demonic presence to eat us?" Wu Ping immediately retorted, still fearful, hiding behind others, not daring to look Wu Cheng in the eye.

"Sect Leader! Stop! Let’s talk this over!"

Mr. Qio tried to advise Qi Daodong while maintaining his hand seal stance just in case.

But Qi Daodong paid no heed. He howled, suddenly getting down on all fours, like a wolf king in the mist.

Then he rushed over like a phantom. Mr. Qio saw this and had to focus entirely to confront it.

Lv Yang, regaining his breath, struggled to squeeze out of the wall hole and shouted, "Go call the other sect leaders!"

A guard received the order and immediately returned through the side door.

At the same time, Mr. Qio’s ’Four Directions Formation’ had taken shape. As the discipline elder of the Shouxi Sect, his mastery of the Imprisonment Skill was even higher than that of the sect leader Qi Daodong.

Trapped in an invisible square space, Qi Daodong crashed around, head bloody and battered. Seeing Wu Cheng held at knifepoint, his eyes grew even redder, the redness beginning to spread from his eyes to his entire face and body, the blood vessels glowing strangely red.

Soon these blood vessels began to swell, turning into bulging muscular growths, causing his whole body to swell. He actually tore open the Profound Qi wall in front of him with sheer physical strength, charging straight at Mr. Qio. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Mr. Qio was shocked and pale. The being before him was no longer the respected elder sect leader, but a ferocious demonic presence. Angrily, he drew his sword and executed the Shouxiu Sword Scripture against the now mindless Qi Daodong.

However, Qi Daodong’s body seemed to contain endless power. Cutting through the withered skin revealed fresh red flesh. The sword moves, filled with aura, from Mr. Qio couldn’t block him alone, forcing him to retreat steadily, feeling that every stab and claw from Qi Daodong was heavy and deadly.

Lv Yang seized the moment to join the battle, shouting:

"Wind-Fire Combination!"

Qi Daodong’s clothing began to burn all over, yet he showed no concern, still entangled with Mr. Qio.

Thick smoke and white mist fused together, the air even filled with the scent of burning flesh.

Everyone was shocked and anxious at this scene, except for Wu Cheng, who was pained beyond consolation. This young prodigy had never shown such a wrenching expression before; he cried out sorrowfully:

"Stop fighting! Master, please, stop!"

Wu Ping, hiding behind others with half his head out, had a sinister and satisfied smile, muttering:

"Damn it, serves him right! That cursed ugly creature deserves to die!"

With a "bang," Mr. Qio was knocked to the ground, spitting a mouthful of old blood.

Even as Qi Daodong still intended to move, Lv Yang’s sword move came from the side but was flung away by the frenzied Qi Daodong’s arm.

Qi Daodong buried his head into Mr. Qio’s shoulder and actually bit off Mr. Qio’s right arm. Mr. Qio let out a scream of agony, echoing through the night sky.

Blood fell like rain, scattering on everyone. Under the firelight, Qi Daodong looked up, ravenously chewing Mr. Qio’s arm like a demon god emerging from hell.
