Fallen for You: The Idol and His Fan-Chapter 111 - 97: Accident Occurs (Part 3)
"Are you up?" Huaiyi asked, looking excited. "Want to go to Taikoo Li together! Xiang Qichen is attending the boutique opening as a brand ambassador today!"
Ying Yue was absent-minded for a moment: "Give me thirty minutes..."
Huaiyi: "I’ll wait for you at the subway exit near Taikoo Li!"
Ying Yue: "Okay."
...
One hour later, the two met up.
The boutique’s opening ceremony was held at 2 PM. At noon, they quickly grabbed something to eat and rushed to the boutique to wait.
Having pre-arranged with Yang Li, Huaiyi wasn’t too worried about missing out on those products. She checked the time and sent a WeChat message to Yang Li: [Are you guys heading out?]
[Yang Li: Waiting for Qi Chen to come down.]
[Zhou Luobu: Oh oh oh, be careful on the way.]
[Zhou Luobu: I’m already here. Right, don’t tell Qi Chen I’m also here.]
[Yang Li: You didn’t tell him?]
[Zhou Luobu: Nope.]
[Yang Li: Why go through so much trouble, wouldn’t it be better to go together?]
[Zhou Luobu: No, even though he has plenty of fans, there’s no way I would miss supporting him as a fan!]
[Yang Li: ...You really have it tough.]
[Yang Li: He’s coming down now. We’re heading out. Take care of yourself.]
[Zhou Luobu: Alright.]
At two o’clock, the opening ceremony began on time.
The boutique entrance in the mall was crowded with fan groups and media, blocking the entire mall walkway entirely.
Even though Huaiyi arrived two hours early, she only managed to squeeze into a middle position.
After saying a few words, the brand representative welcomed Xiang Qichen as he came out of the store. The crowd immediately erupted in cheers.
Standing among the crowd, Huaiyi held her phone high up on a selfie stick, putting in great effort.
Ying Yue, watching from the side, couldn’t help but remark, "You truly are a die-hard fan."
Huaiyi couldn’t spare the attention to respond, sending a smug glance before continuing to watch Xiang Qichen on her phone screen.
He didn’t stay out for long. After cutting the ribbon and taking a group photo with the store manager, he turned to head back inside.
Seeing that he was leaving, the fans on site suddenly grew restless, sighing and even starting to push forward aggressively.
Being short, Huaiyi had been on tiptoes to extend the selfie stick during the entire event. A sudden push from behind caused her to lose her balance and sprain her ankle.
"Creak," she fell to the ground.
"Huaiyi!" Ying Yue was immediately flustered, shouting as she crouched down to help her up.
The people on the outer edges couldn’t see what was happening, and noticing a sudden open space, they pushed forward with all their might.
The crowd surged closer and closer. Someone standing around them, unsteady on their feet, accidentally stepped directly on the ankle Huaiyi had just sprained.
"Ah—"
Huaiyi screamed in pain.
This caught everyone’s attention, and they turned to look.
Xiang Qichen, who was just about to head back into the store, felt a sudden unease in his heart upon hearing the scream. He turned his head towards the commotion in the crowd.
"Huaiyi!" Ying Yue shouted, face red with urgency, "What are you all pushing for? You’ve stepped on someone, you know!"
Xiang Qichen frowned sharply, taking a step as if to head over, but Yang Li blocked him first, whispering, "Qi Chen, you go in first, I’ll go."
Realizing something was wrong, security personnel gathered around, clearing the crowd away. Ying Yue then saw a young man with a delicate face hurrying towards them.
"Huaiyi." Yang Li crouched down, helping Ying Yue lift her up, glanced at her foot, and asked, "Can you walk?"
Huaiyi nodded through the pain: "I can."
With that, Yang Li turned to Ying Yue beside her and nodded politely, "I’ll take her first."
Ying Yue, not fully assured, held onto Huaiyi’s sleeve, "I’ll come too."
Yang Li, looking somewhat troubled, glanced at Huaiyi. She understood and smiled slightly, saying to Ying Yue, "He’s my friend, it’s okay. You head back first, I’ll call you later."
Ying Yue frowned, skeptical but releasing Huaiyi’s sleeve, "Then remember to call me."
Huaiyi: "Okay."
Yang Li supported her as they left, Ying Yue watching the man’s careful actions in a daze, suddenly clapping her hands in realization, "Wait, is he Huaiyi’s boyfriend?"
