Chapter 662: Father-in-law's wrath - Part 2

Oliver forced his hand out of Noah's grasp and moved away from him, leaving a devastated Noah to stare at his back.

"Ivy, close the door after they leave. I am done tolerating them." Oliver did not hold back anymore. The anger he had suppressed over the years for what he had gone through and for what Aria had to go through made him livid and he could not stop himself from bursting out.

"Dad...." Ivy's heart melted completely when she saw Noah's pitiful appearance. Although she was far from forgiving him for what he had done, she could still not help but pity him. Her father was being downright stern and strict and she did not know what to do to salvage the situation.

"Ivy, do not interfere in this matter. I will not listen to anyone, not you, not him, not even Aria." Oliver stopped his daughter before she could side with Noah. He too understood the man's dilemma and he was not against Noah and Aria's relationship. The young man had been clouded by his rage to see things clearly.

But that did not mean he would let go of the matter just like that. Noah was a fine man, and Oliver agreed with it. It was his grandfather who was involved in illegal matters and he was not a person who blamed an entire family for just one person's actions. So, he had delayed revealing the truth as much as possible, at least until he got his hands on the evidence he had collected over time.

If not for Ian accidentally finding out a few things, he would not have even brought up the topic. He knew that without evidence to support his claims, it would be difficult to show Noah the truth. But he was helpless.

All the evidence he had gathered was in a location only he knew about and it would be impossible for anyone else to open it. The place was dangerous, even for a powerful man like Noah and with a criminal like Jared at large, he did not take any risks. Moreover, it would do him no good if he alerted Jonathan Carter in the meanwhile.

"I agree I was wrong, Mr. West." Noah did not dare address him the way he usually did. "And I am here to apologize. Please forgive me. I am sorry."

Oliver huffed and turned his face away from the man. He was furious but not to the extent to drag the matter on for a long time. He was only worried for his daughter.

"I do not want to listen to another word. You may leave now."

"Dad, what's happening? What's all the noise?" Aria walked out of the bedroom, only to stop short when she saw the three men standing by the doorway, with Noah in the lead. Her eyes widened for a moment when she saw his appearance. But she composed herself and put on a nonchalant expression immediately.

Noah's eyes sparkled when he saw the person he had come here and without caring about Oliver who was blocking his way, he rushed towards her much to Oliver's dismay.

"Aria...." He exclaimed in relief. But before he could get to her, Aria turned her head around.

"Why are you here?" She retorted coldly which Noah did not mind. He was glad that he was able to see her. Considering how Oliver was adamant about not allowing him inside the apartment any further, he had been afraid that he would be leaving without even meeting Aria.

"Aria, I am here to apologize to you. I am sorry, Aria. I really am. Please forgive me. I....I was not in my sane mind and..."

"Hold on." Aria turned to face him and intervened suddenly, putting a halt to Noah's rambling.

"First of all, what are you apologizing for? Be more specific." She commanded.

"I am apologizing for kicking you. I am sorry," His expression turned into one of pain and his eyes teared up when he recalled Aria's face the moment his kick had landed on her stomach.

"And?" Aria prompted.

"And for punching Mr. West. I should not have lost my cool without thinking."

"Anything else?" Aria's cold and taciturn behavior made Noah's heart drop and he licked his lips in nervousness.

"Yes, please return home. I am sorry."

"No. Now, you may go." Aria did not give him any face and rejected him right away. Although Noah was disheartened, he did not lose hope and stepped towards Aria, only for Aria to move away from him.

"Aria, please. I know I was wrong. I am sorry. Please. Will you not accept my apology?"

"Apologizing was your wish and accepting it is my wish. And I do not wish to accept it. So, you may leave now. Go, Noah. I am not in the mood to speak to you right now. Please leave before I do something I might regret later."

"But..."

"Did you not hear her?" Oliver butted in their conversation and stood in front of Noah, compelling Noah to look at him instead.

"You have said enough and we have heard enough. You may leave now. We are done entertaining you."

"Mr. West, please let me speak to Aria. Please." Noah begged but it fell on deaf ears. Neither Aria nor Oliver was willing to listen to him. They were too furious with him to stay in his vicinity even a minute more.

"Aria, go back to your room," Oliver ordered and Aria glared at Noah before she returned to her room.

"Ivy, make sure you lock the door once our guests leave."

"Joshua," Ivy let out a sigh and glanced at Ian and Joshua to help her and the men understood her silent request.

Since neither Oliver nor Aria was willing to listen to Noah, it was best that he took his leave. It was not the right time. They could try speaking again once everyone calmed down.

"Noah," Ian took the lead and Joshua followed. "Let's leave from here."

"But Aria..."

"Give her some time to calm down. We can try speaking to her once she calms down. Let us leave from here first."

Not waiting for Noah to agree, Ian dragged Noah with him. Before leaving, Joshua did not forget to nod at Ivy and a silent conversation ensued between them which everyone else missed.
