Chapter 100: Chapter 100: She Really Misses Him

The guest room was empty, the tall man wearing silk pajamas on the leather sofa.

The silken surface glimmered faintly with pearlescence, concealing Ethan Blackwood’s rugged aura, making him appear exceedingly distinguished.

A young girl sat on his lap, fair-skinned, with only her pointed chin showing and her lips gently pursed.

The two of them looked perfectly matched.

Claire Shaw’s eyes were covered, and the warm temperature from Ethan Blackwood’s palm rested on her eyelids.

Soft and itchy, just like his voice.

This peaceful atmosphere always stirred the imagination.

Even if they couldn’t go further, just a kiss with him would quench her thirst.

Claire slowly reached out, her hand resting on the man’s neck.

The veins on this man’s neck were thick and hard, overwhelming her with desire.

"Ethan Blackwood, I want to..."

Just as she was about to speak, the butler’s voice came from outside the door: "Young Master, it’s bad, Miss Chloe is having a fit."

The newly risen atmosphere shattered instantly, Ethan Blackwood pulled back his hand and looked at Claire apologetically: "I’ll go check on the child, take a rest, wait for me to come back."

Claire stood up in a daze, watching Ethan Blackwood leave with a bit of urgency. In that moment, she suddenly realized one thing.

Ethan Blackwood had children.

In the past, she never thought about being with him, so naturally, she never paid attention to him and his children.

When you start to care about someone, you begin to notice even the smallest details about them.

Claire couldn’t describe the feeling in her heart at that moment.

She knew everyone had a past; she had once dated Owen Crawford.

Ethan Blackwood was already thirty; having had a woman before was normal.

On that large bed where she lay, had he once been happy with another woman?

Was he as happy then as he was now with her?

Claire’s mind wandered, feeling that her presence there was inappropriate.

He didn’t ask her to see the child, perhaps in his mind she wasn’t yet qualified to take over his children.

Inexplicably, Claire felt a bit embarrassed.

Confirming Ethan Blackwood was fine, Claire left the Blackwood Family estate in a panic.

Returning to her own apartment, the place which she used to like now felt cold and empty.

It felt like something was missing from her heart, and she knew her emotions were stirred by Ethan Blackwood.

Too much had happened in the past few days, she wanted to give herself some time to relax.

The millet porridge in the pot was still warm, just like the man’s deep care. Claire drank a bowl, took some cold medicine, and prepared to sleep well, wanting to think about these issues when she woke up with a clear mind.

In the dim room, the phone on the nightstand suddenly lit up.

Was it Ethan Blackwood?

Claire quickly grabbed the phone, but opening it revealed another harassing message from a virtual number.

[Baby, I’m wearing black today, what about you?]

Beneath was a pair of men’s black bullet briefs.

Claire was shocked; she had thought all this time the person harassing her was Cecilia Lewis.

The truth was already clear; Cecilia Lewis was just a puppet in Owen’s hands. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Ethan Blackwood had reached an agreement with him, he had no reason to target her.

Unless from the start, she had misunderstood, and the person sending the texts wasn’t him!

Claire frowned, trying to guess who else it could be, when her hand vibrated with another incoming message.

[Baby, want me to take it off and show you? Hmm?]

As if in the next second, the person would pull down the last barrier, Claire threw the phone far away in fright.

The phone’s light stayed on in the dark room, like a monster, opening its big mouth, ready to devour at any moment.

When the light dimmed, the whole world returned to silence.

In the pitch-black room, Claire felt even more afraid.

She remembered what Ethan Blackwood had said before, slowly picked up her phone, and dialed his number.

"Ring..."

The phone kept ringing, but no one answered.

The butler’s words about the child’s condition before leaving made Claire think that with a family doctor, the child shouldn’t be in danger.

Did that little girl have a terminal illness?

Not caring about her inner conflict, Claire quickly sent him a message asking about the situation.

Claire couldn’t sleep anymore, putting down the phone, she wrapped a shawl around herself and got out of bed.

Habitually opening the fridge to grab a beer, she realized that even though the person had moved even the cushions with her, they hadn’t brought any alcohol.

He didn’t want her to be drunk.

Claire sat on the balcony; it had been raining these days, the air was damp and crisp.

But it couldn’t dispel the confusion and heat in her heart.

Her tongue rolled over the man’s name, "Ethan Blackwood, Ethan Blackwood..."

She missed him terribly.

But that night, Ethan Blackwood didn’t reply to her message.

Claire curled up alone on the sofa, like a stray puppy, spending the whole night.

The next day, she felt a bit more energetic, Claire looked at the still unanswered chat box and sighed softly.

Although the headmaster had texted her to rest well considering yesterday’s big event, she went to the school.

The rain had stopped today, the sky was overcast.

As soon as she arrived at the school, she saw Cecilia Lewis handling the transfer procedures for a child.

Mrs. Lewis stood in the distance with a guilty look on her face. Claire looked at Cecilia Lewis, who awkwardly said, "I’m sorry, I won’t bother you anymore."

He and Ethan Blackwood probably reached some sort of agreement privately; Claire didn’t ask about matters between men.

Claire just said one sentence: "Take good care of the child, don’t do anything you’ll regret again."

With that, she suddenly punched him hard in the waist and left without looking back.

Cecilia Lewis had a helpless smile on his lips.

What a petty girl, still holding a grudge.

Fortunately, she was not deceived by Owen Crawford.

Claire, you have to take care of yourself from now on.

In the office, Claire felt a bit listless; Mia Hughes, excitedly told her about the excitement on the trending list from the day before, but it became inexplicably unavailable later.

Seeing her downcast demeanor, Mia Hughes was about to ask when the flower delivery boy arrived with a bouquet of roses.

They were dark velvet roses, as if coagulated with dried blood on the petals.

The card on top read: [Baby, I’m very big, want to try?]

Before Mia Hughes could read it aloud, Claire covered her mouth and dragged her out of the office, explaining the harassment she had been facing recently.

Mia Hughes frowned, "Claire, why didn’t you tell me sooner?"

"Telling you won’t help, even the police can’t do anything about him."

Mia Hughes snorted coldly, "With people like this, you have to be even more shameless, forget personal dignity, and embrace a life without regard for morality. Give me the phone, I’ll handle it."

Mia Hughes typed rapidly on the phone, and as Claire went over to look, she almost fainted on the spot.

[How big?]

[Baby, want to see?]

[Not only do I want to see, but I’ll also gather a group so everyone can appreciate it together. You better send it in high definition! Hurry, I can’t wait any longer!]
