Falling into Her Trap: Don't Cross the Line, Mr. President-Chapter 103: Soft Laughter
Claire Shaw left The Blackwood Group with her legs trembling slightly; she never dreamed she would be on Ethan Blackwood’s desk.
Just a kiss made her legs feel weak.
If it weren’t for the injury on his waist, she definitely wouldn’t have walked out of that office today.
In the car, her face still felt warm.
Suddenly, there was a sharp brake, and Claire’s body lurched forward, only to be pulled back by the seatbelt.
Claire quickly looked up, only to see a large truck crash out from the greenery, almost hitting them.
Fortunately, Moe acted quickly, his psychological resilience strong, immediately steering the wheel sharply.
"Bang!"
The large truck charged forward, directly crashing into a white car on the side of the road.
Claire saw that white car pushed against a roadside tree, the vehicle unable to bear the impact of the truck, being crushed and deformed.
It was imaginable that the people inside had met disaster, with crimson blood quickly flowing down through the gaps.
Claire was horrified, her body trembling with fear.
Moe was calm, "Ms. Shaw, are you okay?"
Turning his head, he saw Claire’s face pale with fright; he quickly drove away, not daring to linger for a moment.
Claire tried to calm down for a long time, her hands and feet still ice cold. She said shakily, "If your reaction had been slower, would the dead have been us?"
Most people have an instinctive fear of death, but Moe was steadfast, "No, I won’t slip up."
Claire rubbed her temples, these past few days her luck truly hasn’t been good.
Back at the kindergarten, Mia Hughes smiled brightly at her, "Claire, why don’t we go diving this weekend? I’ve heard Mr. Blackwood will be there."
For some reason, Mia Hughes wanted to matchmake Ethan Blackwood and Claire Shaw from the moment she first saw Ethan.
Diving?
Claire thought of the wish list she had, and diving was one of the items; seems it wasn’t Sean Jacobs who organized this time, but Ethan.
"Sure."
She answered decisively, Mia Hughes had words of persuasion on her lips, which she swallowed back down.
"You really agreed?"
"Yes."
Claire had contacted Lara Adler once in the past two days; Lara went abroad for a big show, and once she returned, Claire could go to work, so she didn’t have to worry.
After suppressing herself for so many years, it was time to break out of her shell and see the world.
Mia Hughes was ecstatic, "Then, after work, why don’t we buy some swimwear? The other day I heard from Sean Jacobs’ friend that I dressed like a kindergarten senior, so this time at the seaside, I must wow the crowd! Blind the eyes of his friends!"
Claire covered her mouth with a light laugh, "You, with a figure like yours, I’m afraid Sean Jacobs will get a nosebleed just seeing you."
"Oh, please, that’s something that happens only in comics. In real life, who gets a nosebleed just looking at someone? That would be useless."
The boomerang hit Claire, and her face felt a bit of sting.
"Uh, were there any flowers delivered today?" Claire quickly changed the topic.
Mia Hughes’ expression suddenly changed, and Claire eagerly asked, "What’s wrong?"
"There were, but... it was a bunch of white chrysanthemums, the kind used to mourn the deceased. Claire, did you offend someone?"
"Was there a card?"
"Not this time; I found the flowers so ominous, I threw them away."
Mia Hughes pulled Claire aside and whispered, "Do you think it could be Yasmin Yorke? She hasn’t come to work for days now; she’s been flaunting luxury goods recently. I suspect she’s hooked up with a wealthy guy and deliberately sent flowers to disgust you."
Claire furrowed her brows; Yasmin certainly had a motive, but she felt this wasn’t so simple.
The simple-minded Mia Hughes dragged Claire to the mall after work, and the sales clerk handed over a pile of sexy swimwear.
"Isn’t this too revealing?" Mia Hughes hesitated.
"Miss, do you have a boyfriend?"
"Yes, why?"
The sales clerk smiled conspiratorially, "Then you definitely need to buy a set. Even if not for anyone else, can’t you at least show it to your boyfriend?"
Mia Hughes’ face reddened instantly; Claire seemed to recall something Ethan Blackwood had said earlier.
Mia Hughes looked at her, "Don’t tell me you have a boyfriend too, why are you blushing?"
Claire realized the girl became smarter after entering a relationship.
"Not now, but can’t I have one in the future? Are you buying or not?" Claire urged.
"I’ll buy, buy, buy! I want all these pieces and those other pieces too," Mia Hughes obviously had plans, while also grabbing several sets for Claire.
"Good sisters, we have to wear together!"
Claire bit her lip without answering, just looking at such a scant piece of clothing with ties on both sides.
An inexplicable image appeared in her mind, of someone’s fiery hand slowly pulling apart...
