Falling into Her Trap: Don't Cross the Line, Mr. President-Chapter 106: Hungry
Knowing he was deliberately teasing her, Claire Shaw buried her head in Ethan Blackwood’s chest and wrapped her arms around his waist, "Ethan, I saw it."
"Hmm?"
"The sunrise in Qyris, the sunset in Vespera, it’s beautiful."
Ethan Blackwood held her nape, "I’ll take you there when we have time." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Mm, let me hold you..."
Claire Shaw realized that besides a physical dependency on him, she also developed a stronger emotional attachment.
Even if they did nothing, simply holding him like this made her heart no longer feel as empty as it used to.
Ethan Blackwood knew about her condition and allowed her to hold him.
His tall body shielded her from the sea breeze coming from all directions, making Claire feel warm and sweet.
Mia Hughes’s breathless voice came through, "Haha, Sean, you’re hopelessly clumsy."
The two seemed to be playing a game of chase, and their voices grew closer, prompting Claire to let go of Ethan and jump down from the trunk.
Just as she was about to take her luggage, a large hand was quicker than hers.
When the luggage was placed on the ground, Claire caught his wrist, "How’s the injury on your waist?"
When she asked this, her ears turned red, clearly aware that it was as intimate as asking a woman if her period was over.
She reached out carefully, tugging at the hem of his clothes, "We haven’t..."
If she had never indulged, unaware of the taste of such a thing, her life wouldn’t change at all.
It’s an old saying that going from frugal to extravagant is easy, but going from extravagant to frugal is hard.
Having been used to the lavish meals from below the mountain, who would return to the mountain to munch on cabbage leaves?
Before Ethan could answer, a small head popped out, "What haven’t you done in a while?"
Mia ran over, sweaty with some sand on her face, leaving one to wonder what those two fools were up to together.
Claire immediately masked her gentle demeanor and calmly replied, "Just now, Mr. Blackwood asked what I wanted for dinner, and I told him I haven’t had meat for a while."
Mia innocently exclaimed, "Really! Claire, you’re finally off the veggie diet, I’ve always told you, to eat meat to stay healthy! Even dogs won’t eat those wilted leaves."
Claire’s gaze fell on Ethan’s tall figure as her tongue circled around her red lips meaningfully, "Occasionally, changing flavors isn’t bad, even if it’s just minced meat."
Her reference to meat was different from Mia’s, but Mia was still clueless, "How can there be no meat? Don’t worry, there’s plenty!"
Sean chimed in from the side, "Ladies, take a rest, Ethan and I will handle the luggage."
"Good, then we’ll trouble Mr. Blackwood."
Mia, light on her feet, held Claire’s arm as they walked away. Leaning in, she whispered to Claire, "Be honest, are you and Mr. Blackwood an item now? You’re even using his suit to cover your legs!"
Had Claire been so easy-going with the opposite sex, Owen Crawford wouldn’t have had to try every trick in the book.
Her action was tantamount to silent consent.
Claire’s expression remained calm, "I was about to freeze into an old stiff leg, should I have braved it without his coat?"
Mia scratched her head, acknowledging there was some truth to Claire’s words, but she still felt something was off.
"Okay, maybe I overthought it. It’s so late, you must be hungry, be sure to eat some meat later."
A mysterious smile played on Claire’s lips, "Thank you for the good words."
Mia found it even stranger, why borrow good wishes over eating meat? Could it be because Owen, the scumbag, was making life difficult for her?
Too pitiful! She decided she must give Claire more meat.
Mia sincerely said, holding her hand, "Claire, if you’re in trouble, tell me. I might not be able to help much, but I can definitely make sure you get more meat."
"This is one thing you really can’t help with."
That man is very cunning.
Enticing her, teasing her, occasionally letting her have a taste of the meat stew, making her crave more.
It reminded Claire of the salespeople tricking the elderly into buying health products, luring them with free eggs, which made them rush over.
Soon, this egg bait worked, leading people unknowingly into his trap.
Sean watched their retreating figures and saw Ethan with a cigarette in his mouth, quickly reaching over to shield it from the wind and light it.
"Birds of a feather flock together, Ms. Shaw is quite like you, cold on the outside, warm on the inside. When will my little girl start to understand?"
Ethan exhaled a plume of smoke, his enticing Adam’s apple moving, "If you can’t give her a future, I’d advise you not to pursue her."
Sean shot Ethan a glare, "Your family’s elders are not any easier than my old codgers to deal with, you’re about to take over The Blackwood Family, will they let you marry Ms. Shaw?"
Ethan flicked the ash from his cigarette and picked up Claire’s luggage, "Whether they allow it or not, I’m determined to marry her. Ms. Shaw can only be mine."
Mia, like a child, was soon captivated by the villa’s beautiful scenery.
Amidst the coconut groves were several large swimming pools, shimmering in soft blue light under the illumination.
Arched bridges, pathways, and various tropical plants and flowers adorned the scene.
"Claire, I’m telling you, aside from the swimming classes at school, I’ve never swum in such a big pool!"
Claire tapped her forehead with a fingertip, "Tonight, you can swim all you want."
"Let’s go to the buffet first, I’m starving."
Saying so, they headed to the restaurant, surrounded by romantic French music, with shelves displaying fresh produce, drinks, and seafood.
On the grill, oil sizzled, steaming dim sum emitted wisps of white smoke.
Chefs skillfully prepared the seafood, blanching, steaming, stir-frying, and spicy braising.
The various aromas melded together, creating the scent of life.
Like a little spinning top, Mia soon piled a large amount in front of Claire.
"Claire, eat, there’s so much meat, if it’s not enough, I’ll get more!"
Claire chuckled, "That’s enough."
"Then I’ll get what I like~" Mia hopped away.
Sweet and cute in appearance and personality, she even had a sweet tooth.
Sean, holding an ice cream in one hand and a mousse cake in the other, called her over, "Sweetie, there’s your favorite here..."
Claire sat on a high stool by the terrace, letting the sea breeze caress her, with a cocktail set by her hand.
Ethan brought her a serving of seared steak.
He always understood her best.
Her flip-flops slipped off long ago, and Claire’s toes brushed against the man’s suit pants, teasing his firm calf muscles intermittently through the smooth fabric.
Her ankle swayed gently, producing a pleasing bell sound.
Claire tilted her head back, taking a sip of alcohol, letting it spread across her taste buds, her lips shimmering with luster.
She rested her chin in her hand, shooting Ethan a sultry smile, "It’s not beef I’m craving..."
She leaned closer to the man’s ear, her breath carrying a faint scent of wine as she whispered, "It’s you, my sweet man."
